Elara was three days past her due date. Zarkon had to travel for a diplomatic meeting that he had to go to, he hated leaving Elara right in her final days of pregnancy but he had no choice. She couldn't travel. Ulaz said she'd be giving next week because the baby was so stubborn. Right now, she was with the whole family in the mess hall for dinner, well, all except for Zarkon.

"How are you feeling Elara?" Athena asked.

"I'm ok. A little uneasy but I'll be fine." Elara said with a sigh.

"You'll be fine Elara. You won't give birth for another week, Zarkon will be back by then." Sendak chimed in.

"I hope so." Elara said. She'd be lying if she said she wasn't nervous about giving birth while Zarkon wasn't around.

"He'd never miss the birth of his daughter." Buloc chimed in.

"I know he wouldn't but I can't help but be nervous." Elara said.

The other adults kept reassuring her that she'd be ok. When it was time to leave after dinner, Elara suddenly felt a powerful cramp and gasped, getting everyone's attention.

"Are you ok mommy?" Helthena asked.

Yeah hun I'm ok." Elara lied, not wanting to worry the kids, her parents and in-laws knew what was going on.

"Uh why don't we give your mother some space?" Buloc said as he escorted them to the lounge room.

"To the medbay you go. Come on." Sendak said, helping his sister walk when she felt something wet go down her legs.

"Oh no... my water broke..." She muttered.

"Sendak got Elara to the medbay and Helgara was the one to stay with her daughter since Zarkon couldn't be there. Sendak contacted Zarkon to tell him Elara went into labor and as expected, he panicked and blamed himself for not being there for her. Oh boy...

Hours later-

About three hours later, Elara brought her daughter into the world, without Zarkon there. She was sad that he missed the birth of their new daughter but there's nothing to do about it now. The rest of the family came to see the newborn baby girl who yet to be named. The children however fell asleep and so they were left in their bedrooms for the night.

"She's beautiful." Helgara said, smiling at her tiny granddaughter who rest against Elara's chest.

"She's a perfect mix of you and Zarkon." Sendak said.

"What'd you name her?" Athena asked.

"I'm not naming her until Zarkon gets back, I want him to at least get to name her since he couldn't be here for her birth." Elara said.

"That's fair, now Sendak, help us get her and the new princess to bed." Buloc said.

Elara and the baby rested in her bedroom fit the night however the little girl woke Elara up three times in the night. She wished Zarkon was around but she'd have to get through this herself for a little while.
