Zarkon was about to apologize to Elara, when she in bed with Allegra but as soon as he saw the Allegra nursing from her mother, he lost the need to apologize.

"Do you really have to do that now?" He asked bitterly.

"Yes I do. Would you rather hear her cry for hours?" Elara asked, growing protective of her daughter quickly.

"Well she won't die. Will she be suffering for a while? Yes, but she'll be fine." Zarkon said coldly.

"I'm so close to slitting your throat, do you know that?" She growled, glaring angrily at him.

"Does it look like I care?" Zarkon huffed.

"Why do I even bother staying?" Elara mumbled.

"Maybe because you have nowhere else to go and you'd be nothing without me." He chuckled sinisterly.

"You ungrateful bastard. You're not the one who born in a palace, you're not the one you had to start worrying about diplomatic matters at the age of thirteen. I did so many things for you and you're telling I'd be nothing without you. I turned about another royal figure's marriage proposal because I was already in love with you! I gave up so much for you and here you are neglecting me and your own daughter. Maybe this marriage is now unsalvageable. Maybe I am better off without you." She said, putting Allegra in her bedside bassinet and fixing her shirt.

"What?" Zarkon hissed.

"Your parents are right, so are mine, my brother, my uncle, and my sister-in-law. They are all right. It is time to call it quits." She said, standing directly in front of him and staring at him.

"What are you talking about?" Zarkon asked, clearly irritable and upset.

"You really don't get it don't you? We're over, finished, done." Elara said, she took off her ring, crushed it in her bare hands, and sprinkled the shattering pieces into one of his hands.

"I don't need that anymore, keep the throne, it isn't as important as my children." She said and turned away from him, grabbed Allegra, and went to sleep somewhere else for the night.

He was dumbfounded. He pushed and pushed until she no other options and it landed him in a broken marriage and and an upcoming divorce after so many years of being together. He ruined it all.
