A little while after Allegra turned a year old, Zarkon and Elara's marriage was rocky again. They just had a heated argument about something personal which lead to Zarkon storming out of Elara's study in fury. She sighed and rubbed her temples in frustration.

She started to think that getting remarried was a mistake and that maybe she only did it for the kids rather than thinking about her own happiness.

She wanted to break down but chose to keep it together so she just organized her study. As she did, she found the ring Thace gave her for her birthday. It was beautiful, just as beautiful as the ring she wore right now, the one Zarkon gave her to seal their marriage.

'Focus Elara... You're married, you have a family, you have everything you need in life. The joys of motherhood, good health, and... Love...' she thought herself as she spaced out and stared at the gift from her not so secret admirer.

She was snapped out of her daze bug the doors opening to reveal Zarkon looking sad. She stayed quiet and simply put the ring away.

"Elara... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell at you." He said, frowning sadly, she could see that he meant it and got up and walked in his direction.

"It's alright. You were loaded with work, maybe you were just too stressed." She said with a sweet smile.

"You know how much I love you right?" Zarkon asked.

She needed a few seconds to thing. Those seconds alone felt like hours.

"Yes I do..." She said, covering up her questioning tone.

"Good now let's go to bed." Zarkon said and she agreed and they both went to bed.

For some reason she felt herself gravitating towards her other ring. Shouldn't know why but she would find out soon.
