Salvation
Since the journey back to Daibazaal was a week long, they had yet to return home. Elara was still lost but she was making tiny amounts of progress. She was in bed in the spare bedroom she had to stay in and swiped through images and videos of her younger years.
"What it all this?" She muttered to herself.
She saw photos of her teen years with both Zarkon and Sendak. She began to remember very small moments of her past. Then flashbacks of her early adult hood.
Flashback-
"Oh my gods, I'm freaking out! What if he says no?" Elara panicked.
"He's not gonna say no Elara, breathe, it's just pre-wedding jitters." Trigel said.
"How do you know he won't?" Elara asked.
"First off look at you, He's delusional if he says no." Trigel said.
"Secondly, we know how much he loves you." Melenor chimed in.
"You keep him in check." Helgara said as she did her daughter's hair.
"And last but not least, if he were to say no... I will beat him." Athena said seriously.
Everyone stared at her in shock.
"Suddenly I feel much better..." Elara said.
"Good now relax and let us help you out." Melenor said.
What a lovely support group. Athena likes Elara more than her own son.
End of flashback-
She kept scrolling and found a file of a song and she played it. As she did she remembered the best days of her life, her wedding day and the birth of her first child.
Right after her flashback, Zarkon entered the room and saw her pale face and baffled expression.
"Are you alright?" He asked, kneeling at her bedside.
"I remember everything..." She said.
"You do?" He gasped.
"Yeah... Everything." She sniffled.
"Tell me what you remember, just to make sure." He said.
"Everything... The day you proposed, my mental breakdown when we got married, the day Koltor was born, an- just everything." She said and shedded tears.
"That's good, very good, but you need to cry." He said and took her into his arms.
"I can't help it! I forgot about you, our children, and our friends! I feel like a horrible mother and wife for forgetting I was both of those things!" Elara sobbed.
"Elara come on. You are not a bad wife or mother. It isn't your fault that you couldn't remember about your life. You didn't see it coming. None of us could be mad at you." Zarkon said and it did calm her down.
"But what if I-"
"Stop it. You need to stop blaming yourself. Nobody harbors any harsh feelings towards you." He said.
"Alright... If you say so." Elara sighed as she wiped her tears.
"I'm just glad you have your memory, I love my bunny." Zarkon said, smiling after a while of being so sad.
"I missed my anger issue having space turtle." She said.
"You really do remember everything..."
The rest of the day they caught in conversation and laugh attacks.
And something else.
