Growing up
Koltor is fifteen now and both of his parents felt like it wasn't long ago that they welcomed him into their lives when he was a tiny newborn. The fact that he was growing up really hit them when he took interest in Ulaz's daughter, Vetza, who is a year younger than him. Zarkon knew that soon he'd have to save Koltor's life from Ulaz at some point in time.
Elara was in a daze sometimes. When she was a teenager she never thought that you'd have a life like the one she has. She never thought she'd be the one to have the throne, she thought Sendak would've taken over, she never thought she'd marry the son of her parents' best friends, and she never thought she'd have seven healthy children.
Truth be told she never done she'd have children at all. She was proven wrong. Right now, she and Zarkon were looking at Koltor and Vetza laugh at each other in the outdoors from a balcony in their bedroom.
"Do you think they'll end up like us?" Zarkon asked.
"I don't think so." Elara said.
"No?" Zarkon muttered.
"I know so." She said with a sigh.
"So do I. They're young. We were young when we met, now we're married and have a family together." He said, still watching the two teenagers.
"I would be thrilled if he and Vetza wounded up getting married. She's perfect for him. She's smart, sassy, brave, and she is as Koltor says 'drop dead gorgeous.' That boy is in love." Elara said, smiling at her son.
"Vetza does remind me of a certain somebody." Zarkon said, smiling down at her.
"Aww that so swe-"
"My mother." He said.
"Wow." Elara mumbled.
"I'm joking. She does remind me of you, smart, sassy, brave, and drop dead gorgeous." Zarkon said, putting a hand on her shoulder.
"Now that's what I like to hear." Elara chuckled.
"You're welcome." Zarkon laughed a little.
"Koltor is just like you." Elara said.
"How so?" Zarkon asked.
"A pain in the ass." She snickered evilly.
"I'm flattered." Zarkon scoffed.
"It's a joke. He is like because he's brave, a bit impulsive, handsome, but he has a good heart just like you. Most of the time." She said.
"I'll take that..." Zarkon said.
"It feels we had him just yesterday." Elara sighed.
"It does and now he's finally found love. Do you think he'll leave us alone now?" Zarkon asked.
"Hopefully he give us some more space." Elara huffed.
"We should enjoy the time we have with him while we can because he's growing up fast. They all are." Zarkon said.
"You're right. Time flies. Our youngest is already four." Elara said sadly.
"We're getting old." Zarkon sighed.
"You're 39, I'm 37. We're almost at 40." Elara said, It pained her to admit that she was getting old.
"I haven't seen any wrinkles on me." Zarkon said.
"There was not a single wrinkle, white, or grey hair on me. All I've got are stretch marks, all those children gave my hips tiger stripes." Elara said.
"They look good on you though." Zarkon said.
"They do?" She asked.
"Woman you can make a can of sauce look good." Zarkon said, smirking a little.
"You're up to something." She said.
"Yes I am. Is it working?" Zarkon asked.
"Yes it is." She said.
"Koltor asked me for tips on how to impress a lady. I know we've been together for many years but there's still a side of me you don't know yet." Zarkon said, hinting at some dirty things.
"Oh dear..."
