Crippled annivesary
A year later and poor Elara had yet to fully recover. She lacks sleep due to extreme nightmares, her organs had yet to heal from the grazing and the stress was crippling her with migraine headaches. She felt terrible because today is Zarkon's 43rd birthday and their 21st wedding anniversary and she couldn't do anything for him at all because of her condition. Zarkon went off to do his job... or did he? Elara laid in bed wondering if she'd ever get better.
"Why me?" She huffed, staring at the ceiling.
So many awful things have been thrown at her in life. Murder of her very first child, another miscarriage, two daughters rejected by their father, a divorce, a lovesick space cat arguing with her husband, and now a recovery that seemed to be taking forever along with a dash of nightmares. She was so upset.
"Elara... none of this is your fault... I think." She said to herself.
She kept talking to herself until out of the blue, Zarkon suddenly walked and she pulled herself together and carefully tried to sit up with a groan.
"Careful. Don't hurt yourself, let me help you." Zarkon said.
All she did was nod and he walked over and gently help her sit up without causing her too much pain. The guilt consumed her again and she sighed sadly, Zarkon noticed immediately.
"What's wrong?" He asked, holding one of her hands.
"Im sorry..." she sighed.
"Why are you sorry?" Zarkon asked.
"Everything. I can't do anything for your birthday or our anniversary. I feel like an awful wife for not being able to make you happy on today of all days." Elara said sadly.
"Elara... we don't need to celebrate like we always do. Being married to you and knowing you gave me a family is enough for me to be happy for the rest of time." Zarkon said.
He didn't notice that she was already in tears.
"Why are you crying? Dear gods you can't be pregnant again." Zarkon briefly panicked.
"No I'm not pregnant... that was beautiful." She laughed for a minute as some tears fell.
"Aren't I so poetic?" Zarkon joked with a grin.
"Oh shut up!" Elara laughed at his goofiness.
Zarkon wanted to make her feel better and piles of other fluffy blankets in front of their massive window and after getting his armor off, he sat on the blankets with Elara sitting in his lap, wrapped in another nice fluffy blanket, staring at the stars together. They both started to remember their wedding day, well the one from 21 years ago.
Wedding memory-
After many hours of joy and partying, all the guests that came to Zarkon and Elara's wedding were heading to their ships to return home. Of course the newlywed couple couldn't say goodbye without saying thank you to Alfor, the one who did most of the planning despite not even living on Daibazaal.
"You outdid yourself Alfor." Zarkon said, shaking hands with his close friend.
"I'd do anything for you two. You two deserve only the best!" Alfor chuckled.
"Everything was perfect. I don't even know how we'll repay you for this." Elara said with a smile.
"You do not have to repay me for anything. This was surely out of the kindness of my heart. I wanted your big day to be perfect for the both of you." Alfor said.
"It was far more than perfect. It was everything we dreamed of." Elara said.
"A million thanks Alfor." Zarkon said, smiling as well.
"I could see how in love both of you are with eachother and figured that everyone else sees it as well." Alfor said.
"Well that's nice. It's not obvious? What am I missing?" Zarkon asked.
"It is. Now are you two lovebirds excited to spend your first day of marriage with your lovely family?" Alfor asked.
"Hell no." Both Zarkon and Elara said in unison.
"Huh?" Alfor gasped.
"We're going to spend a week alone together after everyone leaves." Elara explained.
"Oh alright. Zarkon you sly dog!" Alfor teased.
"Guilty as charged." Zarkon snickered.
"Oh my gods." Elara chuckled and rubbed the bridge of her nose.
"Anyway in all seriousness thank you Alfor, from both us." Zarkon said with a smile.
"You're welcome." Alfor said genuinely.
Alfor went on and on until the newlyweds asked him when he was going to pop the question to Melenor as they wiggled their eyebrows, that is if Zarkon even has any, and he ran for the Altean ship.
End of memory-
Their wedding day was a day they would never forget. It was one of the happiest days of their life together.
"I love you angel." Zarkon purred and pecked her forehead.
"I love you too muscleman." She purred right back.
"When did you come up with that one?" Zarkon asked about the new nickname.
"Right now." She yawned, getting quite sleepy as they stared at the stars.
"Not the best one..." He scoffed.
"Really?" She asked.
"Yes." He pouted.
"Hunky?" She said.
"No." He deadpanned.
"Devil." She said.
"I'm a man of the gods. No." He scoffed.
"That's not what you said when you banged me before marriage." She snickered.
"ANYWAY." He said, blushing like crazy.
"Hero." She said.
"Not bad." He muttered.
"Lovie?" She said.
"I like it." He said.
"Handsome?" She purred.
"That I am." He snickered.
"Daddy?" She finally said.
"Bed. Now." He commanded.
"But I cant-"
"I'll be careful. But you won't be very quiet." He growled.
She's about to be even more crippled than she already is and that's because of his and her urges combined.
