A month has gone by and Zarkon and Elara haven't said a said he single word to each other at all. Elara was so protective of Delilah that she'd snap at and give Zarkon the death stare anytime he was around. She grew to despise him for the abuse her daughter endured in her first days of life. The other children were confused as to why their parents looked like they didn't love each other anymore. Zarkon, however was depressed. Very depressed. He pushed the one who he shares so many happy times with away. Right now, Elara, her mother, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law were in the lounge room talking.

"Elara you're scaring us." Cressida said.

"What do you mean?" Elara asked.

"You and Zarkon clearly aren't happy with each other anymore. It's obvious." Cressida said.

"A broken marriage is all there is now." Helgara said.

"Mother..." Elara huffed.

"It's true Elara. You two can't even be in a room together." Athena chimed in.

"A divorce is imminent." Cressida said.

"Divorce? Nobody said anything about a divorce." Elara said quickly.

"Elara... You literally told the man you couldn't stand him." Helgara said.

"Mother... He rejected Delilah at her birth, I don't joke around when my children are in the matter!" Elara said seriously.

"Well clearly you two are not putting any effort in mending your marriage so a divorce may just be what happens next." Cressida said.

Elara was confused. She couldn't just forgive Zarkon just like that. He rejected his newborn daughter the second he likes at her. All the love she had for him vanished when she found out of his cruel demeanor. She couldn't bring herself to divorce him. She just didn't have it in her for some reason. That night when she was feeding Delilah, she shedded tears of pure heartache and frustration. Love is confusing, it's complex, you don't know what's there until you lose it.
