The Situation Isn't A-MAZE-ing

"NOOOO! NOT MY LO- NOT QIBLI!" Ocotillo screamed,"Everyone... Panic."

Lina started to frantically run around in circles, screaming.

"My best friend can't leave us that easily! No,no,no,no,no!" Ocotillo said accidentally tugging strands of her hair out.

"ABE HELP!" Lina screamed.

"Qibli!" Moon exclaimed and grabbed some cave moss to help stop the bleeding.

"I'm not sure. The last time I got shot I died but I think we have to take the bullet out!" Abe said.

"Listen to Abe! Take the bullet out someone!" Umber said.

"What should I do?!" Lina asked, still running in circles.

"I don't know! Get a tweezer or something small and pinchy!" Kinkajou said. It looked like she was on the verge of screaming, crying or both.

"How do we get it out without hurting him?!" Lina asked.

"NEWT! PEOPLE GOT HURT A LOT IN THE GLADE! HOW DO YOU SAVE THEM?!" Eri shouted.

Ocotillo grabbed the bullet with her talon.

"That was with grievers. We gave them the serum," Newt explained,"There weren't guns."

"OCOTILLO DO IT!" Kinkajou yelled.

Ocotillo yanked the bullet out and frantically whispered,"Don't die. Don't die. Don't die. Don't die. Don't die. Don't die."

Qibli shot up and intensely coughed up blood.

"That's gotta hurt," Lina commented.

"ARE YOU OKAY?!" Ocotillo asked.

"I doubt it! He just got shot!" Umber exclaimed.

"Alright, now we need to bandage him," Abe said.

Ocotillo frantically bandaged Qibli.

"And now it's best that he rests," Abe told her.

Ocotillo shoved Qibli's face into a blanket and said,"Now sleep."

Probably six hours later...

Ocotillo checked on Qibli and said,"Still breathing."

"Good. He's not dead," Lina said and then dramatically added,"....Or so you say."

"It's around time we should have dinner, now that I'm around a bunch of scavengers I'd like to try and make the types of food they have," Umber said.

(Ooo! I just had a human AU head-canon that Umber always aspired to be a great chef. I mean Mudwings like food so if they were human they'd probably have awesome food. It's just a thought that has crossed my mind :D)

"You go ahead, I'm not that hungry... Must've lost my appetite or something," Ocotillo sighed and added,"It's not everyday that your best friend gets shot and suffers."

"Look, I know Sandwings can stand without eating for a while but I'm sure Qibli wouldn't like his friend to mope around and go hungry." Umber said.

"I'm fine. I had a mango this morning. And I'm NOT moping!"

"If you say so. Abe! Newt! Would you guys like to help me with dinner?" Umber asked.

"Why not?" Newt shrugged.

"Of course I'll help. I'll go outside and gather sticks for fire fuel. Hopefully there'll be no gorillas passing by." Abe said and hopped out of the cave. No seriously, he actually hopped outside.

"We don't really need fuel because of my fire breath... But okay," Umber whispered to himself.

"I will hunt," Newt said and exited the cave.

"I'll see if I can do anything with the food we already have," Umber said and started to rummage through the food-related stuff.

Kinkajou sat down next to Ocotillo and said,"Don't worry. Qibli's going to be fine. He's been through thick and thin! Who knows? Maybe the next random person to join is going to be a healer and help us!"

"Maybe... Thanks," Ocotillo said,"I don't know why I keep acting like everything's the end of the world... I should probably see if Umber needs any help with the food."

Abe got back quickly with a lot of sticks and arranged them in a tent like figure and put scraps of paper and dried grass on the inside.

Umber breathed out some fire on the tinder, and the fire started going.

Ocotillo stood up and asked,"Umber, where am I needed?"

"Well seeing as Newt just got back as you asked. You can cook the 3 deers Newt somehow managed to kill and carry, while Abe tends the fire." Umber said.

"Okay,"Ocotillo said. She skinned one of the deers with her talons, and cut it into strips of meat with her talons and held those strips over the fire... With her talons.

Many minutes later..........................

"Done with cooking," Ocotillo announced.

"Oh thanks! Now we can just add the meat to a potato and carrot stew I made. Abe told me the recipe, apparently his mom made it when he was a kid. So it's gotta be good if it pleases a leader like him." Umber said.

"Your welcome for the THREE deers!" Newt shouted.

"Yeah, yeah! We get it!" Ocotillo shouted back and then asked,"Should I wake up Qibli? He needs to eat something."

"Oh right! Yeah just don't make him get up. I'm not a doctor but I'm pretty sure it'll hurt if he gets up," Umber said.

"Okay," Ocotillo said. She knelt down next to Qibli and gently poked his cheek a few times.

"Ugh..." Qibli groaned and slowly opened his eyes,"What...?"

"Food. You. Now." Ocotillo said, she grabbed a bowl of stew and shoved it in front of Qibli,"Here. Eat. Now."

"If you want to, you can feed him yourself," Umber said raising his eyebrows a bit.

Ocotillo started to blush, but she tried to hide her embarrassment and failed at doing so,"Ahaha... Yeah no. H-he can eat himself."

"What she said," Qibli said,"But I think a better word instead of 'eat' is 'feed.' You make it sound like I'm eating myself."

"I know! But it's fun to see people's reactions in situations like that," Umber told Ocotillo.

"Well it's not fun for me..." Ocotillo said.

Umber ignored her and asked,"Abe, do you like the stew?"

"Yes. The deer could stand to have been seasoned, but the stew is almost perfect!" Abe said.

"Great!" Umber said and smiled.

"Anyway... Let's change the subject," Ocotillo said.

"What's the new subject then?" Umber asked.

"Uh. I don't know... Something that doesn't involve me and Qibli..." Ocotillo said.

"How about, how was everyone's day besides Gorilla o' Clock?" Abe suggested.

"It stunk. Too stressful and stuff," Ocotillo said.

"Mine was awesome," Moon said.

"Awesome because it just was. Especially since no one died," Winter said.

"It was pleasant," Umber said.

"THE DRAMA YESTERDAY WAS AWESOME!" Kinkajou squealed.

None of my friends are comforting me. Ocotillo thought.

"I caught some bloody deer," Newt said.

"I watched him catch those deer. And then I picked some fruit,"Gally said.

"Everything before Gorilla o' Clock was good,"Qibli said.

"I insulted some squirrels and then practiced running," Minho said.

"I repeat, it stunk." Ocotillo repeated.

"Terrific!" Lina exclaimed,"My day was pretty terrific! I wonder...."

"You wonder...?" Eri asked.

"I HAVE AN IDEA!"

Eri asked,"Wha-"

But before she could finish, Lina had teleported everyone to the maze from "The Maze Runner."

"WHAT THE FREAK LINA?!" Everyone except Lina yelled.

"Yay!" Lina said and started clapping.

Do you get why the chapter title is called "The Situation Isn't A-MAZE- ing" now? Because we got teleported to the MAZE! Get it?  We're getting a little closer to Rabbit coming in! If you don't know who Rabbit is it's best you don't know until he comes in. animallove299 will understand what I mean.
