Song: Demi Lovato - Confident
When I woke up the next morning, I was positive I was in heaven. It was the only plausible explanation for the feeling of utter peace flowing through my veins. I was lying on my side, with my back to Kyle, nestled in his arms. I moved my head a bit to look back at him and he stirred, pulling me closer to him and nuzzling my neck.
"Hie," he said in that thick voice he always has when he wakes up.
"Hie," I replied unable to contain my smile.
He rubbed my arm and kissed my neck and I involuntarily rubbed my backside against him. He hissed and sucked harder on my neck.
"If you do that again, we won't leave this bed," he warned me.
"Why would we want to leave the bed?" I said in a sultry voice turning to lie on my back and pulling him down to me. He kissed me hungrily and just when things were getting good, really good, he pulled away.
"Stop trying to distract me." He tapped my nose lightly with his finger. "My whole seven day plan is shot to hell now because of you."
I nudged a leg between his and brought our chests together. I was feeling surprisingly confident after last night.
"New deal. Let's stay in this bed for seven days," I said into his ear and nibbled it softly, running my nails up and down his back. He stared at me surprised but I saw the unfettered hunger in his eyes.
"Look who turned out to be a vixen," he smiled at me. "I love you babe but I'm not letting that hot body de-rail my plans for you again."
I groaned and plopped back down on the mountain of pillows. He laughed as he got out of bed.
"Let's go for a run," he suggested.
After trying and failing to convince him that we could get more exercise worth ten runs if he came back to bed, he finally coaxed me into getting out of bed, washing the mask off my face and changing into sweats. We went down to his car so we could drive to his place where he could change into something appropriate for running. He teased me about the missing buttons on his shirt and I threatened to stuff him into my dress.
I was surprised when he drove to the house I had shown him back when he was playing client.
"You live here now?" I asked as he unlocked the door and ushered me inside.
"Well I did buy the place," he replied smiling.
"But I thought that was all part of the act?"
"It was, at first. Cole was in on the deal and I was going to reverse the sale when the case was done but then you happened and I fell in love with this town so I asked to be transferred here and I moved into the house.
I was stunned speechless. Kyle came up to me and ran his hands over my hair as I stared up at him in shock.
"Maybe someday, you'll move in with me?" he said. My eyes widened and he laughed and headed for the stairs. He stopped at the bottom and turned back in my direction.
"You coming?" he asked with a naughty glint in his eye.
"Of course. Don't you know it takes two to make sure a bedroom is used for bedroom related activities," I winked at him.

We finally made it out of the house (with a lot of objecting from me) and started jogging towards the park. Luckily, it was still early so the sun wasn't too hot yet. Occasionally we'd chase each other, try to trip one another and just be overall silly. It was the best morning of my life. Until...
"Emily!"
Kyle and I both looked up from our playful scuffle and Craig was standing in front of us, also wearing sweats and standing next to the woman I had caught him in bed with.
"Craig. Amanda," I nodded courteously to them, untangling my limbs from Kyle's. Kyle raised an eyebrow as he looked Craig up and down.
"Isn't it just lovely to be running into you," Craig said.
"Sure. Lovely like sticking pins in my eyes," I muttered but Kyle heard me and burst out laughing.
"I was just telling Mandy here the other day about your unfortunate encounter with your boyfriend. You've always been too trusting Em. Not every guy is as upstanding as me and you should be more careful when you choose who to date."
Amanda tugged on his sleeve trying to get him to stop talking and Kyle's expression twisted into one of anger and I could see he was about to give him a piece of his mind. I shook my head at him. It was time I stood up for myself.
"If by upstanding you mean the lying, cheating, egotistical, condescending jerk you are then I'm glad I didn't get someone like you. And for the record, Michael wasn't my boyfriend, he is." I pointed at Kyle and Craig sized him up.
I took Kyle's hand and dragged him away, stopping next to Craig with a sickly sweet smile.
"And by the way, I was never the problem in our bed. You just weren't man enough for me." I winked and took off jogging.
"What's wrong with you? Acting so un-lady like," he called after me and I turned but kept jogging backwards.
"I just got tired of your crap! And besides, what's wrong with being confident?" I turned back, not waiting to hear anything else and Kyle smiled proudly at me.
"Demi Lovato. Confident," he said.
"Damn right."
