Once upon a time, on the now-defunct WriteOn website, there was a weekly tradition of writing short stories. The site moderators would set the theme for the week, and those participating were meant to write - in 500 words or less! - a short story on that theme. It became something of a tradition, with the various writers using it as a way to show off how far they could twist the weekly prompts. While the 500 words was a guideline, rather than a fixed limit, everyone tried to tell their stories in as few words as they could. Now that WriteOn is dead, the WattPad WriteOn Writers have decided to keep up this tradition. After all, every community has something that defines them.

This collection of short stories is my contribution to the tradition. Each story is my interpretation of the prompt for a different week. They cover different genres, different moods and different points of view. They are my experiments in writing.
