Chapter 35
"Now, now settle down." Brooke's face hardened. I guessed she hadn't heard the last part or seen the tear. "I'll show you my true form." She did, and this time she looked deadly. She had turned bad. The only good she had left in her was her friendship with Brent. Now that he hated her, or didn't love her anymore, her good had left her. "See this is my true form! I'm a ghost, like Mohammad and Mohammad may have failed, but you will NOT leave this place alive!"
By now were out of sight from any locals or tourists.
"Ghosts rise, monsters come, and brothers I give you my blessing, rise! Come, fight and avenge your deaths!"
That sounded ridiculous, but moments after she said that, everything went crazy! Brent attacked Brooke, but we had our own problems. Apparently they weren't short on fire breathing pics anymore, because we had about ten in front of us. I wondered if any of them used to be magicians, but I didn't really have time to think.
Brooke had brought up lines of monsters, ghosts, and she said brothers, but I didn't know what she'd meant at the time.
So we started with the pigs. "Mesommunchio." Water, I yelled. Kendra and Nat did that too, but Maddie didn't. I wondered if she'd known these pigs or if her wand said mesommunchio.
We squirted water at three pigs and they couldn't breathe fire so they flew away. Then we did that again and again until all were gone, except for one. I was about to squirt it when Maddie spoke up. "Please don't hurt him! That's-that's my brother."
"Oh, alright. Um, can you get him to you know...come to our side?" That was awkward! Who knew that was her brother. For some reason Maddie's family liked or seemed to be turned into flying, fire-breathing pigs a lot.
Next were ten foot tall snakes. "Sagan." Zap, I said. One snake fell, but we still had nine to go.
"AMNA!" Destroy, Nat yelled since she couldn't use Sagan. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Brooke and Brent still fighting and I just saw flashes and smoke all around them. As they fought they seemed to just keep getting higher and higher off the ground.
"Acacki." Destroy all, Maddie said. All the snakes disappeared which worried me, since that was a huge spell to use and took a lot of energy. Plus we still had a ton of monsters, ghosts, and brothers (I still didn't know what that meant) to go through.
Then we had the one hundred eyed, ten foot tall, ten nosed, and no mouth monster that had almost cost Nat her life. There were only two of them, but Nat and I had a hard time with one. Now we had to fight one, and Maddie and Kendra had to fight the other. Who knew if one went down what could happen to the other. If Maddie and Kendra both went down fighting, well let's just say Nat and I had a good chance of joining them.
"Kendra, Maddie you guys take one and Nat and I will take the other." I told them. "You okay?" I asked Nat.
"This monster is going to die. STACA!" Cut, Nat yelled. This part is kind of gross, so I'm sorry if you find this part disturbing. The monsters nose was cut off by Nat's magic and almost hit my foot. Green, I guess you could say, blood started gushing out and some bones were sticking out. Plus you could see his snot and I had a wonderful view of his actual nose. It was disgusting!
A zap of lightning came down on both of us, but we rolled out of the way just in time. I couldn't believe I was doing this, but I said, "Staca." Cut and off went one of his arms. "Gross!" I muttered. Off went the arm and out came the 'blood.' This time some pink muscles were showing and I almost lost whatever food was in my stomach that I'd eaten earlier. Then a bone actually stuck straight out and you could see all the muscles. I also had a splendid view of the inside of his arm that had fallen off close to my feet again! That's when I lost whatever food was in my stomach. I looked at Nat. "Sorry." She didn't look much better.
"Come on Cand-blahh." Then she lost her lunch too.
"Come on Nat!" But with one spell each I knew the monster would be done. He was loosing too much blood to stay alive. "Sagan." Zap, I said.
"Amna." Destroy, Nat said. The green ugly think was sucked into the ground. Then we ran over to help Maddie and Kendra. Just as we got there the green ugly guy was gone. I was glad there were only two of them.
"You okay?" Maddie asked.
"Yeah, great. I just saw some things that I never want to see again."
"Like?"
"Guts and muscles and bones."
"Nice."
"Oh yeah." Now there looked like there was only one line of monsters left, but the ones left looked brutal! They were brown, green, pink, blue-pretty much every colour. They seemed to be changing sizes and shapes. They were suddenly short and then taller than trees. They could be invisible and had armor on everything, except for their faces. But armor had nothing to do with magic unless...I decided to check. "Hesan." Sleep, I pointed my wand at the armor and sure enough nothing happened.
"Guys, I have bad news. Their armor is magic proof." I said.
"Point at their faces then." Kendra said.
"That is easier said then done. They change heights and shapes in case you haven't noticed."
"At least there's only four of them and there's four of us. We each have to take one." Kendra pointed out.
"That will be difficult, but ATTACK!" I yelled. We each ran for one monster in front of us. "Hesan." Sleep, I pointed my wand at the thing which was now tall and then became short, so I missed. "STOP!" I yelled.
"Uglcan." Grow, I pointed my wand at myself this time and up I went. Soon I was as tall as the monster when it was at it's highest height. "Hey I can see my house from here!" (I had to make the situation a bit lighter!) "Now, Acamanche." Freeze. The magic missed the monster, but I think I hit some ghost that was behind it. "SAGAN!" Zap, I felt the hairs on my neck stand up, and the next thing I knew the monster fell and I went flying backwards from the force of the lightning. I began shrinking and landed hard on the ground. I felt really dizzy. I heard someone shriek my name, but it sounded distant and quiet. I looked up to see my monster gone, so I tried to get up. Someone would or could use my help.
So, I got up and then almost fell again, but I slowly started walking towards Nat, at least I thought it was Nat. "I"m coming Nat!'
Just as I got there Nat's monster left. She must've killed hers too. "Let's go help Kendra and Maddie!" I said.
"Candace, are you alright?" Nat asked concerned. "I saw you fly back and it didn't look good. You landed pretty hard."
"I'm fine, let's go." I insisted even though I thought I would fall over and just die right there on the spot.
The next time I looked over Maddie and Kendra were running over to help me. "Candace lay down." I did, but I did better than that, I decided to fall down and I lay there. "Maddie, Natalie go fight. I'll take care of Candace. These ghosts won't respect the fact that we have an injured person. They'll come once the people in front of them are gone. I'm surprised they're not her yet."
"Huh?" I asked. I was confused and none of what she had just said made sense to me.
"You hit your head really hard. I know how to make a drink that'll make you feel better instantly, but once you stop moving you're going to feel like you might die, but you won't.
"Do it." I said. So Kendra picked something up, then grabbed some other thing, said a magic word, and suddenly I was drinking something.
I instantly felt better and up I went ready to fight with a vengeance. "Thanks!" I said.
Kendra nodded. We were up against ghosts next. There were only ten, but still we would have our work cut out for us.
These were the evil ghosts, and they looked mad at me. I felt scared and ready to run and hide, but that was just their aura. They glared at Nat and I, I guess for killing Mohammad. Oops, oh well.
"I know how to kill them." I said.
"How?" Maddie asked, while keeping her eyes on the ghosts.
"Use the kill spell, but we're going to have to use something less powerful." Nat said. "It'll drain us way too quickly."
"Okay, how about putting them to sleep and hurting them in their sleep?" Then I was tackled-again. Ghosts must've been ex-pro football players, because they were really good at tackling me and they really liked to do just that.
I did have the advantage though, because I had done this before and experienced the same moves. I rolled on top of the ghost. He tried to stab me, but I dodged his thrust. Then I grabbed his knife and stabbed him in well, I guess where his heart used to be.
He hissed and then disappeared. "I've got to get a knife!" I said to myself. I kept the one the ghost gave me, or you could say I took.
"Go, ghosts kill her! Remember Mohammad." A lady ghost hissed. By now we all killed our ghosts. The lady and one other ghost stayed behind as the others charged us.
Once again I couldn't believe I was doing this, but I said. "Staca," Cut. It worked and the ghost charging at me lost his arms. There was not blood or guts, thankfully, and now I had the advantage. "Amna." Destroy, I casually said. These ghosts were amateurs. The ghost had disappeared from one little spell! I was just dusting my hands off and giving Nat a high-five for finishing the ghosts off, when we were tacked again. The lady ghost had tackled me and her helper took Nat down.
"Really, you ghosts? Really? Would you stop tackling me?" I asked. "Aca." Back, I said, but this ghost had some power, she shielded herself and called down lightning.
"Icarum." Shield, I said. I decided to move my shield to just one hand, as Romo had taught me earlier. That way I could keep defense and still fight.
"Suncana." Blast, I said. This time I was lucky. My blast came from all directions and hit her from behind which she hadn't anticipated. She was a tough lady though, because she got up again.
"You have learned the magic of Romo, I see."
"Yep."
"For that and for killing my husband you will DIE!"
"Icarum Sundo." Shield me, I said as quickly as I could. A shield ball went up around me just in time.
An explosion happened right around me. "Who's your husband?" I asked.
"Mohammad, my dear, lovely, Mohammad."
"Oh him? Wow! He was pretty funny, I'll give him that." So then we went back to fighting. We called down lightning and tried to destroy the other person. I even tried to put her to sleep. Then I got an idea. "Ranza." Clone, I said. I pointed the wand at myself and the clone and I started doing the same thing. Of course it's 'magic' wouldn't really work.
"Amna." Destroy both me and my clone said. That was it, that killed her. "Go join your husband." I said.
"Candace Brown, you will pay!" She screamed as she took her last breath.
"Nat you okay?"
"Yep, I'm done. Now we have the brothers left. Who are they anyways?" Nat asked me.
That's when the brothers appeared, Maddie and Kendra began shaking, and Nat and I recognized a very familiar face. It was Romo, the one who killed Kendra, turned Maddie into an evil flying, fire breathing pig, and almost killed me and Nat, but this time he wasn't along. Now he had his two brothers wit him and this time he would stop at nothing to kill us.
