Chapter 48

"Why can't I come?" Samantha whined, a pout forming her lips.

Jacob had told her what the plan was for the fight. Where it would take place, what time he assumed it would start. He also told her that he would be staying with Bella and Edward in the campsite the Cullen suggested. Of course, Samantha protested at first not liking the idea of Bella near Jacob but she knew he had to do it. She knew he had to be over there so that the pack can I have someone to fill them in on what's going on. What Samantha didn't know was why wouldn't he let her come.

Jacob wrapped his arms around her, kissing the top of her head,"There's going to be a storm heading towards our way and I don't want you getting sick."

Samantha's scoffed at the poor excuse,"I can handle a little storm Jake." She could probably survive multiple storms without wearing layers of sweaters and jackets. She didn't have Jacob's body heat temperature but the cold me never bothered her.

Jacob smiled down at her,"I know you can but for your health. Stay here please." Her health commented him a lot but it wasn't the big idea on why he didn't want her to go. Bella would be there and things would be very awkward between the three.

Samantha groaned but then nonetheless gave in,"Fine but you owe me big time." Giving her one last kiss, Jacob had walked himself out of the house leaving Samantha alone. Derek and the rest weren't with her at the moment. They were all at her brothers discussing how they should attack or who should be paired up with who or something similar to those things.

Not knowing why but Samantha had this feeling inside her that something was going to go wrong.

As soon as Jacob set Bella down, the human didn't hesitate to run into her Fiancés embrace. Jacob swallowed his disgust towards the couple. He still couldn't believe that Bella, his best friend, would soon be turned into something he was born to kill. He was still trying to think of ways on how to make the Swans mind but he couldn't think of any that wouldn't hurt Samantha. He screwed up once already and he doesn't plan on doing it a second time.

"Thank you," Edward said, his arm wrapped around Bella's waist.

"You should get back before the storm hits," Bella tells him.

Jacob shook his head,"No I'm staying." His pack needed someone to fill them in on what was going on and that was why he was here. If only Samantha was here, time would of passed by really quick. Both Edward and Bella crawled inside the tent, Jacob stood alone outside with his thoughts. The sound of thunder caused Jacob to look up at the blue sky that was starting to fade from the dark clouds that surfaced.

"This is going to be one long night."

Jacob felt the wind rush through his coat of fur that was keeping his body warm from the storm. Jacob was fine the way he was laying but the sound of Bella's teeth chattering was very difficult for him to sleep. He knew the Cullen being near her was making it worse for her seeing as how the Cullen's body temperature was in the negatives.

Wanting the chattering to stop, Jacob phased back into his human form and put on his shorts that he had tied around his ankle just in case. He yanked the zipper down and managed to slide his body inside. Jacob saw the state Bella was in. Her lips were quivering as if she was about to cry, her lips were a blue color which wasn't a good sign.

Edward looked over at Jacob, already knowing what he was going to do,"Forget it."

"She may need her toes someday and let's face it, I am hotter than you."

Jacob took a step forward but stopped when he felt Edward's hand ion his shoulder. Jacob's muscles automatically flexed as he felt the vampires cold to in on his warm skin. His jaw clenched while his nostrils flared. "Get your hand off me," he growled.

"Keep your hands off her," the Cullen warned.

"D-d-d-don't f-fight," Bella pleaded as she saw the vampire and shape shifter glare at each other. Edward saw the look she gave him which made him remove his hand from Jacob's shoulder. "She gets sick, it's on you," Jacob says. Edward nodded his head in approval, letting Jacob make his way to the human.

The shape shifters arms wrapped themselves around the Swan's body. The heat caused her to snuggle closer to him, not in a loving way. He grimaced when he felt Bella's clod cheek press against his chest. "God you're freezing Bella. Relax, you'll warm up soon. Faster if you took your clothes off."

"Jake," Bella warned, not wanting him to anger Edward anymore then he already has.

"Survival one-oh-one," Jacob reminded her before resting his chin on top of her head that was covered with a beanie.

An hour passed by. Both Edward and Jacob assumed that Bella had fallen asleep but the two were wrong. Her eyes were shut but her mind wasn't.

"Could you at least try to attempt to control your thoughts?" Edwards voice was low but you could hear the anger in it.

"I really get under that ice cold skin of yours, don't I?" The shape shifter knew his thoughts were annoying the vampire but he didn't care.

"What are you doubting her feelings for you?" Jacob pressed on. "Nice. So picking through my brain is okay but letting me through yours, forget it."

Edward remained silent making Jacob continue on,"Look, I know she's in love with you."

Edward chuckled,"Oh good."

"But she's in love with me to," Jacob added. "She just won't admit it to herself."

"I can't tell if you're right," Edward said, his voice not so harsh as it was before.

"Then let me ask you something. If she chooses me-"

"She won't," Edward interrupted.

"If she did, would you try to kill me?"

Edward thought about it for a second. The thought of ripping Jacob to shreds was amusing to him. "That's an intriguing idea." He chuckles softly,"But no, I couldn't hurt her like that."

"So you'd just turn her into a bloody sucking demon like you?" Jacob inquires.

Edward shook his head,"I don't want that. I never wanted that." He didn't want Bella to live the life he did. He wanted her to live out her human life.

"So stop her."

"I tried. I left." The incident still lingered in Edwards mind.

"But you gave up to quickly," Jacob pointed out. "If you'd stay away for another six months. I could of made her happy."

Edward scoffed,"And what about Sammy? What would you do, leave her?"

It was now Jacob's turn to stay quiet.

Edward knew how much the shifter caused the hybrid pain. Edward saw the hybrid as a little sister. His whole family saw her as one of their own. "Bella does mean something to me and as much as this pains me to say, Samantha means more to me. I may not feel the same way as I do for Bella but Samantha is family to me. Blood related or not. She isn't just some rag doll you can through away or play with whenever you want. If you ever and I mean ever hurt her the way you did before, I won't hesitate to kill you. Samantha's feelings matter more to me then they do to you."

Jacob said no words. He knew that the Cullen was telling the truth. He knew in no doubt would tear his body apart if he ever broke Samantha. Hell, the whole Cullen's family would probably join him. But Edwards little comment towards the end of his speech, angered him. "Like hell they do. She means more to me then she does to you. She's my impri-"

"Then start treating her like shes yours," Edward retorted.

"You treat as if she means nothing to you but a one night stand. You would think for someone like you whose grown up into an alpha blood line that you'd show some respect towards the girl."

If it wasn't for Bella in the way, Jacob would of phased and attack the vampire. His words angered him even more. As much as it kills him to admit it but he knew the blood sucker was right. The teenager knew that she treated her as if she was just a rag doll that only wanted to be played when only when necessary.

Realization came to Edwards mind as he read the shape shifters mind,"You're afraid."

Jacob raised his head up and gave a look of confusion to the vampire,"Of?"

"You're afraid of losing her."

Jacob gulped,"Aren't we all?"

"That's why you're pushing her away. You think she'll get hurt or worse killed if she stays with you." Only parts of it made sense to Edward. The teenagers mind was very confusing for him to read.

"No matter how far you push her away, she will always have people after her Jacob even if you're not involved. You heard her story. No matter where she runs or hides, she will always have people wanting her dead."

Bella poked her head out of the tent. Snow surrounded her. Specks of it were left on the trees, some were on top of the tent while the rest scattered on the ground. Bella stood up and felt the soft snow underneath her converse. She looked around and was met by a pair of brown eyes that she knew belonged to Seth as well as the size of his wolf, it was small compared to the others. "Hey Seth," she greeted with a small wave. He moved his head up as if he was saying a hi back to her.

Soon enough, Edward stood next to her. He sent a look to Seth that said to give them some privacy. Once Seth left, Edward grabbed a hold of Bella's hand. "I'm really sorry about last night. It couldn't of been easy on you," she apologized. She couldn't imagine the suffering Edward must of gone through.

"It defiantly won't make my list of top ten favorite evenings," he stated.

"You have a list?" Bella asks chuckling afterwards.

"All ten were the ones that I spent with you. Number one was when you said you'd marry me. Mrs. Cullen." Bella laughed at his comment, not knowing that a certain wolf was hearing their conversation until they spoke up.

"You're marrying him?"

I'm on a role with these chapters *clapping emoji* Next chapter is going to be a bit longer because next chapter is the fight *fist emoji* What do you guys think is going to happen next chapter? You think the Bella and Jacob kiss will happen? You think Sammy will go MC hammer on Bella if it does ? Lmao I liked witting the lil scene I added in the tent scene with Edward being all protective over Samantha xx He out Jacob in his place ... Get it cause he's a dog and ... I'll just stop lol
