Chapter 43

"Whoever he was he left a stink behind," Jacob snarled as he along with Dani and Samantha, walked down from Bella's porch steps. "It'll be hard to miss when we cross it again. We'll handle it from here."

Apparently, from what Edward had told Samantha, he smelt a different scent in Bella's house which led to her and Jacob coming to see if they recognized it by any chance.

"We don't need you to handle anything." Both and vampire stared at each other in pure hatred.

"I could care less what you need," Jacob retorted.

"Alright, we're done here."

"No, your done here."

"Stop!" Both Bella and Samantha shouted.

"I'm tired of this. From now on, I'm Switzerland ok?" Bella added.

"Guys," Samantha spoke up as she saw that they hadn't let go of Bella's wrist. Edward released Bella but however Jacob didn't.

"I'd listen to her mutt. Don't want her leaving you as well," Edward chuckled at the reaction he got from Jacob.

However, Dani didn't find it amusing at all,"I'd shut your mouth if I were you Cullen."

Go Dani, Sia said amused by Dani's actions.

Once Jacob let go of Bella, he wrapped his arm around Samantha's waist and pulled her closer to him. "I'll call you if I find anything," she told them referring to the unknown scent in Bella's house.

"Actually Samantha, Carlisle wanted to talk to you about something," Edward said as he waited by his car.

Samantha looked at Dani and Jacob and saw that they didn't want her to go,"I'll just call him." At that, Mr. And Mrs Sparkles got in their car and drove off to who knows where.

As soon as they left, the three were already in Samantha's car,"I know you don't like him but please for me, just for a second don't argue with him." She said to Jacob as she started the engine.

"You know I can't help it Sammy," he sighed.

She looked back at Dani through the rear view mirror,"How come your not like that with Dani? She's the same thing as Edward." He looked at Dani which caused her to wave at him awkwardly with a smug grin on her face.

"That's different. She's not trying to turn an innocent human into one of her kind," he muttered.

This caused Samantha to press down on the brake and pull over to the side of the road,"So all this hatred towards him is because Bella wants to become like one of them? You do know it's Bella's choice right? We're not her parents Jacob."

"Sammy she's basically saying she wants to kill herself! Do you really want her to become one of them?" He asks his sudden change in voice told her not to anger him more.

"Of course I don't want her to be like one of them but Jacob what can we do about it?" She sighed no longer wanting to argue with him about this.

"So that's it, you're not going to do anything about it?" He asks.

"There's nothing for me to do Jacob," She simply said as she saw a car pass by them.

"I thought your kind was suppose to be useful for something but I guess not," he spat before getting out of the car, slamming the door shut, running towards the woods where he phased.

"Sam-" Dani began but she cut her off.

"It's okay. I'm okay Dani," was all she said before driving back on the road.

You okay Sammy? Sia asks.

"Yeah just great," She muttered.

"So what did you want to talk to me about?" Samantha asked Carlisle as both Dani and herself sat down on his couch. Out of nowhere, Edward and Bella came out from the kitchen and stared at the two.

"What do I have something on my face?" Dani asked as she noticed Edward staring at her intently.

"You know how Victoria's back?" Edward asks making Samantha nod her head. "As well as the unknown scent in Bella's room?" Again, she nodded her head not really knowing where this was going.

"They're both after her. Look is their anything that your hybrid side can do to help us?" Carlisle asked as he placed a hand on her shoulder.

If you think I'm going to help these blood suckers than you're wrong, Sia said sternly.

Sighing, she shook her head,"I'm sorry but I can't." At that, both Dani and her got up from the couch and made their way towards their front door. As soon as they got in the car she didn't hesitate to turn it on and pull out of their driveway.

"Sammy, why doesn't Sia want to help?" Dani asks as she looked out of the window.

I have my reasons, Sia muttered.

"She has her reasons," Samantha replied to Dani.

"Can you find out what they are?" She asks.

She shook her head,"Sia is my other half. See it as this way, one person is good while the other is-"

"bad," Dani finished.

"Sia isn't necessarily all bad. She has her moments when she's good. Hybrids are given a guide to help them survive. That's what Sia is. All the things she tells me, whether their good or bad, they're all for mine as well as the people that I loves safety. She doesn't do it just for her benefit and pleasure. She does it because she cares."

Or because if you die, I die with you, Sia murmured.

But mostly because I care about you, she quickly added.

"Why do you make it seem like she's a different person?" Dani asked as she now looked at her.

"Dani she's been apart of me since I was eight years old. We basically grew up together in a way. She's like a friend or sibling to me. We care for one another," Samantha sighed.

"Can you lose Sia without you being killed?"

Samantha shut her eyes but quickly opened them when she remembered that she was driving,"Yeah I could."

You're not going to lose me Sammy, Sia assured.

I'm with you till the end pal, Sia said.

***The Next Day***

"You do know that I have a car and I could of just took Bella with me over there right?" Mr. Sparkles over here was going to go out hunting while Bella and Samantha go with Jacob.

"I don't see why you're sending them to go with him. You don't even like him," Dani told him.

"Sammy, Dani, do me a favor and shut up," he said to them.

Dani was about to say something but Samantha stopped her,"Listen to your elderly's Dani."

We pulled up to the side of the road when we saw a red car, that Samantha was all to familiar with, that was parked on the side of the road. Jacob, who was shirtless, leaned against it. Both Edward and Bella got out of the car while Samantha stayed with Dani.

"Please be on your best behavior. You can only back talk if it's only Emmett and Edward," she told Dani who simply nodded her head. "I'll pick you up at Carlisle's." At that she got out of the car, shutting the door behind her, and started to walk to where Jacob was at.

"Hey beautiful," Jacob smiled which caused her to smile back.

"Hey," he wrapped his arms around my waist while she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"I'm sorry for how I was yesterday," he muttered against her head. She placed her hands on the back of his neck and pulled him closer so that their lips connected to each other's.

The sound of someone coughing followed by a honk as well as someone shouting,"Get it Sammy!" Caused Jacob and her to pull away.

"Will continue this later," she said as she placed one final kiss to Jacob who was smirking.

"So what do you want to do today? Bike, hike, just hang? Well we're going to a part today," was all he said before getting inside the car. Bella and Samantha shared glances before shrugging their shoulders and getting inside the car as well.

"Are you guys sure this is okay? I really hate being a party crusher," Bella said as the three all walked towards where everyone was gathered around the fire.

"Technically your a counsel meeting crusher. You see the council leaders, dad, Quil's grandpa and Sue Clearwater. She took over for Harry when he died," Jacob explained then looked over at his girlfriend to see if she was okay at the mention of Harry.

"Okay I should not be here guys," Bella told Samantha and Jacob.

"They thought it would be good for you to hear the histories," Jacob said referring to the counselor as well as his dad. Even Sam decided it was best for Bella to hear them.

"The tribes histories aren't they secret?" Bella asked as she began to take a step away.

"We all got a role to play and you're part of this. It's the first time Seth, Quil and Leah hear them to but you are the first outsider, ever," he emphasized the word ever.

"This feels weird," Samantha spoke up causing Jacob and Bella to glance at her. "I haven't been to one of these since I was a kid."

Before Jacob could reply to her, a certain Clearwater came running towards the three. "Jake!" The two werewolves fist pumped each other.

"It's about time you got here. Pauls been hovering the grub but I saved you some burgers," Seth said a smile on his face. Even though the boy had recently lost his father he somehow kept a smile on his face.

"Bella this is Sue Clearwater, Leah's brother, newest member of the pack," Jacob introduced the two.

"Newest, bestest, brightest," he began but Jacob cut him off.

"And slowest," the two began to tackle one another but stopped when they heard a whistle coming from Sam.

"Your dads about to-" Seth cut himself off when he saw Sammy, who was on her phone, behind Jacob and Bella. His eyes lit up the way a little kid would on a Christmas Day.

"Sammy!" He shouted as he ran towards her. She placed her phone in her back pocket and was about to say something but Seth wrapped his arms around her waist and lifted her off the ground and spun her around. Samantha held onto him tightly hoping that he wouldn't let her fall.

"You know steroids are bad for you kid," Samantha said once she was back on the ground.

Seth smiled at her,"Come on." He grabbed her hand and started to run to where everyone was at.

"Seth slow down! Not all of us are energetic as you," Seth stopped his running and smiled sheepishly at her.

"Sammy!" The boys from her brothers pack shouted as they all started to hug her.

"Sammy must really be popular here," Bella said as she saw everyone pull Sammy into a hug.

Jacob couldn't help but smile at how happy his imprint looked,"Yeah you could say that. Her dad was a werewolf himself."

Bella's eyes widened,"Sammy's dad was a werewolf? Shouldn't she be one then?"

"Come on," was all he said.

"Sammy you gonna finish that?" Paul asked as he pointed towards Samantha's hot dog that hasn't even been bitten yet.

She handed him her plate and sighed. Without saying a word to anyone, she got up from her seat and walked to where Jacob's house was at. Once she got inside she grabbed a water bottle that was in the refrigerator and chugged it down.

"You okay?" Seth asks as he entered the house and saw Sammy who was sitting on one of the chairs that surrounded the table.

"Yup," she simply said as she took another sip of her water.

"No you're not," Seth said when he heard her heart race.

Sighing, she placed the water bottle down on the table and ran her fingers through her hair,"It's not the same anymore."

Confusion crossed Seth's face,"What do you mean?"

"The bonfire. My dad and mom always came to these and would tell the stories. All of this just reminds me of them," Samantha said as she rested her chin on her hand.

Without saying anything, Seth walked to where she was at and took a seat next to her. He grabbed her hand and squeezed it,"I know you miss them. Hell, everyone misses them but they wouldn't want you to be like this Sammy."

"How do you know that?" She asks as she looked down at their hands that were intertwined.

"Because the Samantha they know wouldn't be like this. She would always have that beautiful smile on her face that would brighten anyone's day," Seth explained and smiled as he saw a blush appear on Samantha's cheeks.

Samantha got up from her seat causing Seth to do the same. Seth was about to say something but Samantha cut him off when she pulled him into a hug.

Seth couldn't help the smile that crossed his face. The girl he's been having a crush since he was little was hugging him. If you asked six year old Seth if Samantha would ever hug him he would tell you no. But now, he would probably say yes.

"We should probably get back," Samantha said as she tried to pull away from Seth but he just wouldn't let go.

"uh Seth," Samantha awkwardly poked his back but that still didn't do anything. Instead of calling his name again Samantha gripped a handful of his hair and yanked it back which caused him to pull away quickly.

"Come on Clearwater," she grabbed his hand and the two walked outside to where everyone was at.

Once Jacob saw Samantha he sighed in relief seeing she was okay but then his whole expression changed once he saw Seth and Samantha's hand intertwined with each other. All Jacob did was glare daggers at Seth who didn't even notice Jacob staring at him as he was laughing at something Samantha said.

Once the two were about to sit down, Samantha's phone rang which caused her to answer it and use her vampire speed (I'm sorry but I don't know what else to call it lol) to go to where Jacob's house was at and answer the call without anyone hearing her conversation.

"Sammy where are you are at?" Dani breathed out, she sounded as if she's been running a lot.

"Dani are you okay?" Samantha asked as she was on full alert.

"V-Victoria. While we were hunting. We spotted her and somehow Edward knew that me and Victoria had a past with each other so he told me to run as fast as I can. I called you because I-I-" The young vampire stuttered but stopped when she saw Victoria standing right in front of her.

"Dani-" Samantha began but the sound of familiar scream on the other line made her heart stop.

A few minutes had passed by and the screaming had stopped but Samantha hoped that Dani had manage to get away. Someone coughing on the other line had given her some hope that it was Dani but sadly it wasn't.

"Sorry to interrupt your little conversation with Dani but I don't think she'll be up anytime soon," Victoria said with a wicked grin on her face as she stared at an unconscious Dani laying on the ground.

"If you laid a hand on her I will-" Samantha began, she gripped the phone tightly in her hand to the point where she'll end up breaking it.

"You'll what?" Victoria asked her, almost in a challenging way.

"Meet me by the treaty line." Was all Victoria said before hanging up on Samantha who was on the verge, to tear everything that was in her sight, apart. Her anger began to rise by the minute.

"Is everything okay?" Jacob asked as he walked to where Samantha was at.

Instead of saying the truth, Samantha did the opposite,"Yeah everything's fine."

"Dylan called and told me that it was my turn to patrol. I'll see you tomorrow." At that, she planted a small kiss into Jacob's lips then walked to where the woods were at. Samantha hated lying to Jacob but she knew it was for the best. Over the past months Dani has been here both her and Jacob had gotten very close. Dani saw Jacob as her big brother while Jacob saw Dani as his little sister. If Jacob found out Victoria had Dani he would go in attack mode instantly.

Once the treaty line came into view, Samantha looked around trying to find the red head. "You came." The sound of Victoria's voice caused Samantha to look in front of her and saw Victoria leaning against a tree.

"Where's Dani?" Samantha asks as she saw the red head come alone with no Dani in sight.

"Somewhere safe," came Victoria's response.

"You do know hybrids are way stronger then vampires right?" Samantha asked her as she now leaned against a tree and crossed her arms.

"Yes I'm aware," Victoria said while she still kept the grin on her face.

"Then you do know I could rip your head off in an second," Samantha pointed out.

"Yes but your not going to do tha because if you kill me you'll never see Dani again." Victoria added on,"But however seeing as how I surprisingly still like you. I want you to help me with something."

Samantha scoffed,"Yeah I think I'll pass." Then began to walks way but Victoria spoke.

"If you want Dani back then I'm afraid you can't say no to this," She said causing Samantha to turn around.

"What do you want me to do?" Samantha asks wondering what Victoria could possibly want her from her.

"You know how I despise that little Swan girl," Victoria began which caused Samantha to chuckle.

She knew how badly Victoria hated Bella. Edward informed Samantha before he left, about how the whole Victoria situation happened. Apparently Edward killed Victoria's soul mate then Victoria had this main goal which was all set on killing Bella but failed while doing so.

"What about her?" Was all Samantha asked her.

"You're going to help me-" Samantha cut her off.

"Help you with what?" The side of Victoria's lips curled up which sent an unpleasant feeling to Samantha's stomach.

"You're going to help me kill her."

Sorry for not updating in like forever but I'm sort of back. School has been a pain in my ass *thumbs down emoji* Sorry if the writing in this chapter is terrible /: I just needed to put a chapter up for you guys, I might go back and edit it but I'm not sure. what do you guys think is going to happen? What is Sammy gonna say or do? Why the hell does Victoria have Dani?
