Chapter 10.3
Meanwhile at Sharpe Manor, as day was slowly turning to night, Adam moaned tiredly and wrapped his arms tighter on what he believed to be Red. But when he felt nothing but himself, his eyes shot open.
“Red? Red?” He quickly got up and retied his robe and ran all over the house calling her name. “Don’t play around with me anymore darling, daddy’s getting really scared now!” He looked in all the usual places Red would be when she couldn’t sleep but couldn’t find a single trace of her left.
He quickly went back into the room and took notice that her cloak was gone. His eyes widened as he quickly got changed and rushed outside calling out her name. He quickly began frantically asking people if they had seen her but everyone he came across said no or not since the party last night.
It was then he came across George Sanderson, walking with his wife and son. He quickly cried out his name and George turned around and said.
“Oh Mr. Sharpe, what a lovely surprise to see you, how’s everything-”
“George, have you seen my daughter at all?”
“Last time I saw her was about 4 hours ago at 4:45pm, she asked me to take her down the to Toll Bridge, she hasn’t come home yet?”
“No and I’m really worried, but thank you so much for telling me”.
“Do you want me to take you down there?”
“No thank you, but I need to do this myself, you stay with your family and keep them safe”. Adam then turned and took off running at Vampire speed towards the Toll Bridge.
‘If any of those Vampires lay a finger on her, they’ll pay for this!’ He quickly arrived at the Toll Bridge and began sniffing around for a scent. Red’s scent. He then took notice of the turned over piece of wood and the hold that had been dung up and began sniffing around the spot for Red’s scent.
But the water and the thick air around the forest was hard for him to see if it really was Red’s scent or if it was someone else.
His parental instincts began to sky-rocket with fear and worry. He raced back and began running all over London trying to find his daughter, but he quickly gave up and went home.
Once he arrived, he took notice of Rose and Daniel standing before him.
“We heard you screaming from all the way downtown, what’s going on Adam?” Daniel questioned. Adam fell to his knees and began to explain to them what the commotion was going on.
After explaining to his ghost friends the problem, Adam kept pacing around the dinning area, brushing his hand through his hair with worry as Daniel and Rose sat along the couch.
“Adam, calm down it’s going to be okay!” Rose assured him.
“Really? How do you know that? Because—I can’t even track her scent anymore!”
“Well there has to be an explanation why Red suddenly left?” Daniel said. Adam sighed deeply and sat down on his chair and said worriedly.
“Your right, but the problem is—I don’t think it’s a good one”.
Silence roamed throughout the room until there was a knock at the door. Stepping in and coming into the room was Khan.
He looked down deeply solemn and grave to even look Adam in the eye as he removed his hat and gloves and set them down. Rose and Daniel looked at him then back to Adam who looked at his brother with worry and desperation.
“Khan—did you find her? Is she alright? Where is she?”
“Adam calm down, she’s fine, she’s at Baker Street with John, but—” he paused and looked down. Adam gripped onto Khan’s arms and desperately begged to him.
“What is it?”
“She was sent to find Ava’s box”. Rose and Daniel were a bit confused but Adam’s eyes widened with fear.
“What did they send her?”
“They—they sent her—”
“Khan please tell me”. Khan stepped away from Adam then said gravely.
“They sent Red her Grandmother’s head”.
Everyone was dead silent.
Adam’s eyes widened with horror as he suddenly broke down, while Rose and Daniel placed their hands over their hearts.
“Oh my God” Rose whimpered as she covered her mouth with her hand trying to let out that horrifying image for Red. Adam whimpered out as he began crying and breaking down further. Rose went up to Adam and rubbed his back soothingly as Khan explained.
“The head was at least 2 centuries incased to be fresh because you know as well as I do that—Ava likes her threats to be fresh”.
Daniel stood up and gestured to Khan.
“You should go” he then walked up to his wife and friend and hugged Adam tightly around his shoulders. “Adam she needs you, now more than ever. I know you promised Window Lucas that you would protect her, and right now she could sure as hell use a Father right now. You’re the only one she’ll listen to at this rate”. Adam stood up and dried his eyes and nodded.
“You’re right, take me to her”. Khan took his hat and gloves back and Adam followed behind him grabbing his white gloves and the two hopped in the carriage together while Daniel and Rose simply teleported to Baker Street.
But when they arrived, they had no idea of the chaos that was stirring up inside 221B St.
Once the carriage arrived in front of 221B, Khan and Adam heard the sound of a rumble going on inside.
“Oh no Red!” Adam exclaimed and raced outside the carriage with Khan running right behind him.
“Red! Red!” He continued to cry out as he raced up the stairs and soon the two men saw the most gruesome and horrifying sight ever.
The entire room looked like a hurricane had gotten inside the building.
Bookshelves were turn over, claw marks on the walls and ceiling, tables and lab equipment were either turned on their side or smashed into pieces, pages from books were ripped up and statues and busts were broken.
“What the hell?” Khan muttered.
“KHAN! ADAM!” John’s voice was heard from the bedroom. They quickly opened the door and saw Watson slightly scratched up and his clothes slightly torn, and Red was tied up by a chain thanks to Watson as she began snapping and growling in the air trying to get free.
“John what happened?”
“I went to give Red a drink but she suddenly snapped and started tearing up the entire flat! I tried to calm her down but she refused to listen to reason! I had no choice but to chain her up and try to give her a sedative to calm down but she won’t stop thrashing everytime I get near her”.
Adam looked at his poor daughter and could see her Wolf eyes shining through.
Even though it wasn’t Wolf’s time yet, with the sudden news of the death of her grandmother, triggered the Wolf to suddenly wake up and mourn the only way Red would. And it seems it’s through madness that her Wolf likes to mourn.
“Let me talk to her”.
“Adam are you crazy she’ll kill you if you even get close to her!” Watson tried to reason with him.
“No she won’t. Please John I know my daughter. And I know she would never hurt me, not purposely. Let me try to get her to calm down, then you can give her the sedative, okay?” John was reluctant but he nodded. He and Khan then backed up out of the room, allowing Adam alone to be in the room.
Adam watched emotionlessly as Red kept thrashing and wiggling about on the chain that was hurting her neck and shoulders as she struggled more and more.
“Red”. Her head instantly shot up and she bared her fangs at Adam. The two of them found out that both combined Vampire fangs and Werewolf canines made them appear more menacing and scary. Her fangs her at least 3 inches long now, her eyes glowed with pure fire but sadness was easily detected because Adam could feel her heartbreaking. “My little dove, it’s okay. It’s going to be okay my love”.
Adam slowly reached out his hand but Red yanked forward on the chain to try and bite Adam but it only yanked her backwards again so she paced around like an actual Wolf, eyeing and snarling at Adam as he cautiously came closer and closer to her.
“Red, my darling listen to me. I know you’re upset, you’re tired, scared and you don’t want to accept the fact that your Grandmother is dead”. At that last statement, Red snapped at Adam keeping low to the ground but still making Adam jump as well as Khan and John. “Okay, okay poor choice of words for that last statement! I’m sorry love”. Red continued to eye Adam with her deep fiery eyes as she would every now and them snarl and bare her fangs even more. “Please, my darling; I know how you feel—don’t you remember? I’ve lost people too, my wife, my children, my father and friends. So many people I’ve lost in my time and I feel like doing exactly what you are doing now, but that won’t help forever”.
Red’s snarling quieted down but she slowly backed away like a defensive Wolf still on guard, baring her fangs still as Adam got closer and closer to her.
“Red. Red,” he slowly knelt down to her height and whispered her name again lovingly again with his hand still out for her to take once she came around. Red slowly crept up towards him lowly growling. “I’m here. Daddy’s here for you my little pup”.
Finally Red came to her sense.
Her eyes turned back to normal, her fangs retracted back into normal sized teeth and she was left with a sad, frightened face.
“Come here” Red immediately hugged Adam’s torso tightly as she began crying in his chest.
Adam untied the chain from her neck as gently as he could then pulled Red onto his lap, rubbing her back in soothing circles as he rocked her back and forth.
“Now my darling, John wants to give you something to help you calm down, you’ll feel a little sleepy but it’ll be good for you, can you sit still for a second while he give you the medicine?” Red nodded weakly as she remained still with her arms wrapped around him tightly. Adam turned to John and gestured for him to come in. John walked and knelt down beside the two Imprints and held the needle in his hand as Adam positioned himself so that Red was now facing him with one of her arms outward towards John.
As John gave Red the sedative, Red remained broken and soulless until the sedative kicked in and knocked her out against Adam’s chest. He rubbed her back and asked John.
“How long will it last?”
“It’s probably one of the most powerful sedatives I’ve ever had to make, but it’s not powerful enough to kill or harm her. Hopefully she’ll be out for the whole night, maybe into late tomorrow morning. Once she wakes up, she may still be weak as a baby fawn but she’ll soon return to normal”.
“Thank you John, and I’m sorry that you had to see her like that. You must believe me that she’s not really like that”. Adam said as he looked down at his daughter who was completely knocked out thanks to the drug.
“I believe you Adam, Khan told me how wolves act when they lose their family. I’m just worried about how she’ll be from now on, I mean—they sent her own grandmother’s head in a box as a threat! That’s sick for a child to see, especially someone like Red”.
“I know, it broke me when Khan told me. After all she trusted me with her granddaughter after Red ate her boyfriend, ever since then I also hoped that somehow she had found away to escape the village and lived until she finally lived out her life, but now—now I know the real truth. They somehow managed to find her body after her execution, and then had it stored away until they thought it would be a good time to make the threat against Red”. Adam gently picked Red up and carried her out of the room.
When he saw Daniel and Rose now sitting with Khan in the living room, he called Rose and Daniel up. Daniel and Rose walked up to Adam.
“Would you both mind taking her back to the manor and look after her?”
“No problem Adam” Daniel said as he took Red from his arms and adjusted her in his arms. But before they could teleport back to the manor Khan butted in.
“No. Adam you need to be with her, take my carriage. You and your ghost friends take care of Red together”.
“No, no Khan I couldn’t ask for-”
“Really Adam, it’s on me. Please do it for Red. She’s going to need you when she wakes up, not just her ghost friends who never knew her grandmother personally”. Adam smiled at Khan and the two of them hugged each other.
“I’m sorry about your flat Khan”.
“Oh this stuff is meaningless, nothing but five minute speed cleaning won’t hurt. Ms. Hudson will never know a raging werewolf just destroyed her flat. All that I’m concerned about is Red’s safety, if anything else should happen, give me a ring”.
“Thank you my brother”. They separated from each other then took Red back from Daniel’s arms and carried Red downstairs and outside and got into Khan’s carriage with Rose and Daniel who teleported inside then they all headed back to Sharpe Manor.
When they arrived, Adam placed Red down on their bed and left Rose to change her into something more comfortable. Adam told her that Red always loves to wear his red robe that hung right by the bed, so after she changed Red into a comfortable nightdress, she covered her up with Adam’s robe then left the room to fetch Adam.
“Is she still asleep?”
“Yes, slept the entire time I was changing her, seems like she will be out of it all night” Rose said.
“Anything else we can do for you Adam?” Daniel asked.
“No, thank you. You’ve both done enough, I’ll let you know how Red is when she wakes up”.
“Okay Adam, if you say so”. Rose walked up to Daniel and wrapped her arms around her husband’s shoulders as she sat down in his lap.
“I do, have a Merry Christmas you two”.
“You too Adam, give Red our regards”. Rose said. Then the two of them vanished into thin air.
Adam went back into their bedroom and sat down by their bed and watched over her until she woke up.
Later that evening, Red slowly came out from the sedative and saw that she was back home in her bedroom. She shifted around and saw Adam fast asleep in the chair beside their bed. She sighed softly as she remembered being sent out to find her Granny’s head in a box, she then took notice that she was now wearing Adam’s dressing gown and softly inhaled his scent.
Red looked towards her desk and weakly sat up and reached over to grab her sack of papers and pen as she then began writing a story about a young girl and her loving Granny who did everything to protect her granddaughter from a terrible family secret.
“I thought you’d still be asleep?” She heard Adam’s say. Red didn’t respond but kept speed writing until she managed to get 7 pages in just the few seconds she began writing. “Red? You’re speed writing again, it’s okay”.
“I’m not speed writing! I just want to write my new story before I lose interest okay?”
“Red. I know that—losing your Granny has made you upset, but you can’t hide away your pain forever, just let it out”.
“Why? Why would I do that? After all she—lied to me about what I was even though she was the only family member I ever had left and she thought she was protecting me by keeping it a secret so she had to just make me believe that my boyfriend was the Wolf until I—” her grip on the pen against the paper grew so tight and unbearable, that the pen snapped and ink spewed everywhere on the paper, down to Adam’s robe and covering her entire hand like blood.
Adam took her papers away as well as the busted pen and took her to the bathroom to wash the ink away.
Silence was between the two of them as Adam got soap into a rag and gently washed her hand. Red remained as still as a statue mentally kicking herself for ruining her work as well as making Adam fuss over her like a Mother hen.
“Red, it’s—”
Red quickly got up and ran towards the window and just looked out into the city.
“Don’t even try to have pity or sympathy on me Adam! I don’t need it!” Red snapped angrily and venomously. Adam knew she didn’t mean to say it in that way but her Wolf side was clouding her better judgment just like it did for her mother when her brother died.
Adam sighed and slowly walked up to her and placed his hands on her arms and softly rubbed them up and down trying to give her some comfort.
“Damnit what did I just say!? Get the hell off me!”
“Red. It’s okay”. Adam said in a comforting but strong tone.
At that moment; Red’s walls completely collapsed.
Tears ran down her face as she began to sob hysterically.
Adam wrapped his arms around her waist and gently pulled her back towards his chest as he then caught her favorite chair standing behind him. He slowly sat down in her chair as he brought her into his lap and allowed her to cry into his chest.
He rocked her back and forth gently whispering words of comfort in her ear as he rubbed her back and stroked through her hair. Red continued to hiccup and cry as she gripped Adam tighter and tighter.
“You know I’m still here for you right?” Red nodded not trusting her voice as she still hiccupped and whimpered into her father’s shirt. “It’s going to be okay Red, I’ll make sure they’ll never put a single finger on you. I won’t ever leave your side, I’ll always be there to protect you my darling. You’re my Imprint Red, and I’d do anything for you, just as I know you will for me”.
“I love you daddy”.
“And I love you my sweet dove,” he kissed her temple then gently caressed her cheek as he laid his head on top of hers. “Why don’t I play you your favorite violin piece? Hmm, how does that sound my love?” Red nodded softly but refused to separate from him, which Adam understood.
He gently adjusted her in his lap so that she was now curled up like a baby then he picked her up bridal style and took her downstairs into their music room.
Adam set her down on the sofa and covered her up with the deep red blanket then he gave her a flask of blood for her to drink while he played for her. Red remained still on the couch but every now and then would drink from the flask in small sips as she listened to her father playing her favorite violin piece.
The most beautiful and melodic piece he had ever written for her. Red slowly began to feel sleepy from it but as she closed her eyes she suddenly heard that voice again in her head.
‘Go outside the city down to the funeral parlor alone and wait for me there’. Her eyes suddenly shot open then narrowed her eyes as she lowered her head. She had been told by Khan that it was Ava who had been communicating with her, giving her these orders and now she wanted to actually see her.
‘Wait until your father is fast asleep, then come and see me. Don’t tell him where you are going’. Red had no choice but to see this Ava and confront her on why she did this to her and find out why target just her?
After Adam finished with her piece, Red asked if they could just go to sleep while he red her all of Shakespeare’s sonnets, since that was her favorite comforting gesture. Adam greatly agreed and carried her back to their room and tucked her into bed then he went to the bookshelf and got the exact copies of Shakespeare’s plays that he had received from the man himself.
He got into the bed with her and allowed her to cuddle close into his chest as he opened up the book and began with the first sonnet.
His soothing, velvet voice was sending Red into a deep sleep and shortly after a few sonnets Red fell fast asleep.
Adam thanking that she would continue to rest, decided that after worrying so much and today’s events also taking it’s toll on him decided that he too needed rest. He closed the book and put it on his desk and fell asleep holding Red protectively.
A few hours later; Red awoke and saw that the grandfather clock in their room said 3:45am. She then knew it was time to make her move and meet Ava. She slowly removed herself from Adam’s arms and took her hood with her and snuck out the window and began using her agility and grace to jump from building to building towards the destined meeting area.
At the funeral parlor in the back room, a woman wearing an elegant black and purple dress with a haunting collar on it, long pure black hair and a haunting but beautiful face walked around the funeral parlor holding a small black sack in her hands. A solemn look surrounded her face but when she heard Red’s voice say her name.
“Ava.” Her eyes narrowed and darkened as she turned around and saw the She-wolf she had been waiting for. Red held her hands up gesturing to her she had no weapons, no tracker, and no back up.
“Follow me She-wolf” she demanded then she walked out of the parlor with Red trailing behind her.
The two women walked all the way out of the city towards the bridge once again but this time up further past the bridge and into the last bit of remaining forests of London.
“Do you remember when you first met Henry in your henhouse Red? Do you remember how he looked?” Ava stated calmly but soullessly.
“Of course” Red stated pointing out the obvious not knowing why she would ask a question like that to start off this talk. “Tall guy with goatee and ginger hair”.
“Indeed, and this woman especially loved that look on him” Ava said as they stopped before a small grave. It was a small cylinder tombstone that looked like a carry-on-bag but was made entirely of light brown stone. Engraved on it was Dracula’s sisterhood’s mark with a red lustful heart.
“What’s this?”
“A grave.” Ava snarled quietly. She took a deep breath and whimpered out “Alice’s grave”. Red’s eyes widened at the name.
“Alice? The one who-”
“Who was killed in the attempt to stop your father?” Ava finished for her mockingly. Ava’s haunting and grave eyes glared deeply into Red’s as she finished in her dark, menacing voice “seems daddy never told his little princess of one final kill he made, my sister died because of him”.
Red was speechless.
“I—I’m sorry for your loss”. Even though Red never cared she knew what Ava was somehow feeling.
“I’m sorry too, but nothing can change what happened. What he did. He was to be our perfect predecessor, he was perfect but then you tainted him!”
“Hang on there, he came to me not the-”
“He! Was perfect at what he did! But because of you! He can never come back to us!” Ava snapped at her.
“So you killed my Granny, just because I tainted your Henry the V?”
“No!” Ava roared out.
Red was now confused.
If killing her Granny wasn’t because of her meeting Adam then what was all this for?
It was then Ava took the sack and began opening it.
“What’s that?”
“The real reason you’re here” Ava stated as she pulled out a small vile of blood. But it wasn’t normal red blood but BLACK blood. Red’s eyes eyed the blood in fear and shock, thinking that she was going to be killed then and there and her Granny was just the bait luring her into the Vampire’s trap. “Did you know that blood is the source for all Vampires?”
“So why do I got the feeling this blood might kill me!?” Red snapped not taking her eyes off of Ava as the two women locked eyes with each other.
“It won’t kill you. No what we have planned for you both is far worse; Your Imprints will be severed. And you can do nothing but just watch as your father falls into insanity and depression”.
“And you’re gonna force it down my throat, aren’t you?” Red said catching onto this scheme of theirs.
Ava chuckled darkly as she smirked evilly.
“Of course not, it wouldn’t work anyway,” she held the vile in front of Red as she stated again in her haunting voice, “the choice is yours She-wolf. It must be taken willingly”.
“And why would I ever do that?”
“Because if you refuse to drink it, your Imprint. Your precious daddy—will be shot dead” her voice dropped an octave into menacing as her eyes were now crazed with psychotic intentions and lustful power.
Red was shocked. Her whole body froze with fear and shock at what she had just said.
Adam shot dead?
“What?” She whimpered out faintly.
“A Vampire hunter has been on you guys ever since you settled here, and he’s been waiting my orders to shoot your father dead for awhile now”. Ava stated smugly as she turned away from Red with her nose stuck up in the air, knowing she had the She-wolf right where she wanted her.
Red began to feel her heart clench and tighten with fear.
“I drink that vile and Adam lives? That’s the deal you want to make?”
“And you are to never see him again” Ava snarled lowly as she turned her head back towards Red.
Red had to choose and fast.
If she left Adam, then the two of them would be affected far worse than anyone could ever imagine. Who knows what they could become if she left him like this. But if she refuses, then the sniper waiting to fire will shoot Adam in his sleep leaving Red alone and she could turn killer.
The cult didn’t want Adam back, she began to realize that, they wanted him to suffer. And to suffer they had to get rid of the one thing he truly held dear to him. Something—no someone he loved truly.
Her.
Red had no choice.
She took the vile from Ava and said as she opened it up,
“As long as you don’t touch him—you can kiss me goodbye”.
She then drank the blood in one single gulp.
Ava’s expression turned to bewilderment and excitement that she had actually drank it.
Red’s eyes narrowed angrily at Ava but then slowly widened.
Adam’s eyes suddenly shot open as he felt something pull on his heart.
Red whimpered in pain as she clenched herself forward.
Adam groaned and held his heart in pain as he slowly sat up on the bed groaning and growling in pain. His panting grew heavy as the pain became almost unbearable to him.
Red suddenly felt her hold on Adam suddenly vanish and she collapsed to the ground. Ava smirking with pride that her spell was working.
Adam groaned and fell into the bed as he cried out in agony feeling like someone was ripping his heart out slowly.
Suddenly he couldn’t feel Red’s spirit or essence within him.
She was gone.
“Ava!” He snarled. He shot up towards the window and cried out into the heavens. “WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HER YOU WITCH!! WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY BABY!?!? RED!!!!!!!!!!!”
But Red was forever gone from Adam’s body.
Ava had heard Adam’s voice echo up to the Toll Bridge and her grin became wider as she saw the now sleeping She-wolf lying on the ground with the vile still in her hand.
“It’s done my Lord, their Imprints have been severed spiritually”.
Ava then disappeared within a cloud of purple smoke.
Adam quickly barged into 221B Baker street and cried out for Khan and Watson. Khan tried to calm Adam down but he was going mad like a wild mustang trying to explain what was going on. Finally to make him shut up, Khan slapped Adam across his face and cried out.
“WILL YOU GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF!?” Adam sniffled. “Now calmly tell me, what’s going on?”
“It’s Red she’s—she’s gone. I can’t feel her Imprint anymore. It was Ava I know it was. Her magic severed our Imprint somehow—or worse she must’ve—”
“Adam. Adam calm down. We don’t know that for sure, look we’ll search for her, John call Daniel and Rose, if anyone can track her down without being spot it’s those two ghosts. Red told me everything about their powers and abilities, we wont stop searching for her okay Adam, we’ll get her back”. Adam looked up at his brother and nodded.
The ghouls looked high and low for Red, Adam inhaled one of her party dress to see if he could get a scent on her and tried to track her down. Khan and Watson were paired together and Khan inhaled one of her other dresses and he tried to use his mind palace to think of all the places Red had been with this dress to see if she could be there having a late drink.
Meanwhile Daniel and Rose were checking uptown as well as the docks. It wasn’t until they reached the docks that they noticed a young girl with a red hood getting aboard a large vessel.
“Red!” They both cried out.
The figure stopped and turned around slowly and they were shocked to see that it was Red.
They ran up to her and Rose said.
“Oh thank God Red, Adam’s been worried sick! Your Imprint on him faded away, what happened to you are you okay?”
“I’m fine but—I can’t be with Adam anymore” Red said soullessly.
The two ghosts were horrified.
“What do you mean you can’t be with him? You guys are inseparable, Red you’re speaking nonsense after what you had just seen with your Grandmother, here we’ll take you to him!” Daniel said as he quickly took her arm and pulled her away from the staircase but Red yanked her arm back and snapped.
“UNHAND ME DEMON!!!” Daniel and Rose stood there horrified at what Red had called him.
“Red, what’s happened to you? Why are you acting like this?” Rose stated softly.
Red just couldn’t tell them the truth about Ava and the threat. She took a deep breath and turned to her two ghost friends.
“Look you two, I just—I just want to see a bit of the world on my own, here,” she handed them a letter and told them. “Take this to Adam, it’ll explain everything. Just give this to him and promise me that you guys won’t tell anyone you saw me getting on this boat”.
“Red, you’re not making any sense! Why are you-”
“ROSE PLEASE!!” She shouted again. Red clenched another letter in hand labeled to Daniel and Rose.
“Please, I just—I just don’t want Adam to remain worried over me, just give him the note and don’t look back. Make him move on with his life even if you have to haunt his butt for the rest of eternity. And please take care of him for me, make sure nothing happens to him. Promise me you’ll both do that for me”.
Rose and Daniel didn’t know what to say. So they both just nodded solemnly.
Red hugged her ghost friends and secretly slipped another note into Daniel’s jacket as she bid them farewell.
Rose and Daniel watched with sadness and sorrow as they watched Red board the boat and then it took off from the docks and out to sea. Red waved goodbye to them as tears fell from her eyes at the fact she had to let everyone she loved go or else the cult will kill Adam.
She was forced to let her best friends go, her new uncles go and most importantly her father go, in order for him to remain alive. Red just looked on ahead at where she would soon start her new life, back to her roots before she moved to Europe.
She was going back to America.
It was now sunrise in London; Khan, John and Adam were back at Sharpe Manor all exhausted from searching.
“Where could she be?”
“I don’t know Adam? We searched high and low for her, not even a corpse body was found”. Khan explained. Adam began to freak out that maybe after whatever it was that Ava had done to her, she took her back to the cult so they could torture and kill her slowly.
“Adam, don’t think of the worse case scenario, maybe Red just wanted to take a stroll and got lost”. John tried to lighten up the mood.
“But if that were possible, then why can’t I feel her anymore? Why is her Imprint gone?!”
“Easy Adam, easy don’t take it out on his silly little mind”. John wanted to retaliate but suddenly Daniel and Rose appeared into the living room.
“Did you both find her? Is she alright?” Adam asked desperately. Daniel and Rose looked at each other worriedly. They wanted to tell Adam the truth but they made a promise to Red that they wouldn’t tell him where she was going. Rose simply took out the letter and handed it to Adam.
“What is that?”
“It’s a letter from Red”. Adam quickly took the letter and opened it then before anymore questions were asked to the ghosts, they just disappeared.
As Adam read the letter, his heart began to break even further and his spirit was crushed at her words.
It read.
My Dearest Adam,
By the time you read this I will be gone. No, no I am not dead, I’m very much alive but…. I just can’t be with you anymore.
Just know that it isn’t nor was it ever your fault. It really isn’t Adam. I just simply want to stand on my own two feet for awhile, see more of the world through my own eyes without you.
I had Daniel and Rose give this to you to let you know that I’m alive and well, this is for your own good Adam and I hope you won’t be mad at me.
Continue to live your life to the fullest my darling Knight and who knows, maybe our paths will cross again someday. Please don’t try to look for me, I’ll be fine. Always look to the full moon to remember me, and make your music shine my father.
Goodbye and farewell,
Red.
