Calum *new POV. let me know what you think

We all made it to the safe house in one piece hours ago. This place is truly in the middle of nowhere. I haven't got one clue as to where we have ended up. It is obviously a rural areas but other than that, I don't have much to go off of. There is nothing around us but trees.

It is so quiet here. Unlike the castle.

Peaceful... again, unlike the castle. At least the last hour before leaving it this evening.

The baby prince has not stopped crying for long enough for any of us to get a wink of sleep. Not that we could sleep at a time like this anyways.

But even his incessant wails are not enough to wake The Queen. She has been unconscious since we boarded the carriage and started the journey out here.

We put her in the bed as soon as we arrived and began cleaning up her wound so she at least would have a fighting chance against infection.

But that is all any of us could do for her. None of us have any background in medicine. We can not close up her wound. The best we can do is hope that we did good enough to keep it clean until she can get some real help.

The three of us hope she isn't dead. If she dies at any point while we are out here, we just don't know what we would do. Imagine if someone found us.

Three castle servants in the middle of nowhere with the dead Queen and her son crying in the next room over. That would be terribly suspicious of us.

Raeanne and I grew up together, running around the castle to pass the time. Somewhere between then and when her father died, things changed. She was no longer allowed to play with me in the halls or come visit me in my room. She began meeting suitors and young men her mother wanted her to marry. But our time together was special. She used to sneak out at night simply to come visit me in the kitchen and get a taste of the new dish I was working on. Then her visits became less and less frequent as her duties grew. But she never stopped being kind to me.

Seeing her like this is terribly upsetting.

I sit by the window and watch the wind blow the trees outside. I think about Michael. He needs to be okay. He needs to safe the castle and lead us to victory.

I wonder when we can return to the castle, if there is even a castle to return to when all of this is said and done.

We need to figure out a way to help. Waiting here and doing nothing is killing me. I am sure the others feel the same.

"Ramon," I call out to him. "Do you think you could take a message to the castle without giving away our location?"
