(13) Attack
Michael
I search through the severely wounded royals and the deceased bodies in the hallways and in to the ballroom.
Rae- I mean, the queen- has to be okay. She has guards to keep her safe, right? It is their job to keep her safe. Nothing bad could ever happen to her while she is in the castle and under their close watch, right? I mean, that is how it works, right? She is safe as long as there are guards are watching over her.
I hope she is okay. I only left the room for one minute to calm myself down so as not to scream across the room at the King of Spain for 'stealing my woman', but when I came back, there was so much screaming and several bodies were already piled up on the floor.
The castle is under attack by masked murderers, both the King and Queen are missing, the royals are panicked (if they aren't already dead or lying on the floor bleeding out), and I had stepped out to cry in the bathroom like a child.
How incredibly brave of me.
I continue searching the panicked crowd of nobles from numerous countries in search for Rae. I have to make sure she is safe before I can think about anything else. But how am I supposed to know she is safe if she is nowhere to be found?
The Queen Mother takes shelter behind a group of guards. Why does she not have her daughter with her? Why is she not keeping her safe?
The screaming dies down as the realization hits that the threat has been eliminated.
My eyes lock on Rae, slightly limp in the King of Spain's arms as he enters the room. Her mother exits the safety of the guards and rushes over to her daughter, as do I.
She grabs Rae's face and stares at it intensely.
"Get her to the physician immediately. The Queen has been injured!" She points in the direction they are to take her.
Two guards accompany her and her husband as they make their trip to the infirmary.
No. No. She can not be injured. What is wrong? Will she be okay? She has to be okay. Who could have done this to her? Who would want to see her hurt? I can't imagine how anyone could wish to show her harm.
What has happened to her? I hope nothing terrible. What could it be? Her mother sounded quite concerned for her. I hope it is not deadly. Oh dear. I must get to Rae and figure all of this out for myself.
I follow the guards down the hall and turn in to a doorway they entered.
Shouldn't there be more guards with her? Especially after such an attack on the castle? Only two guards protecting a king and a queen?
"Stop!" A man shouts, blocking my path through the door. I stand on my toes, trying to see which way they are going.
The man bends down and grabs a bucket. "We need all servants cleaning up the blood so the royals will not have to see it." He slams the plastic container in to my chest, forcing my arms to grab it.
By now The Queen is out of sight. There is no way I can follow her now. This castle is too large and I do not know my way around it, seen as I have only been here a day. I will have to wait for another time to see her.
Moments later, the door is slammed in my face, hitting my nose and jerking me back slightly.
I walk back towards the ballroom. Inside the bucket, I see water and a rag. It seems as if the water in this bucket has never been cleaned. It is a black as the night.
A noble man's body is lifted off of the floor and moved on a piece of wood, down the long hallway.
I bend down on the wooden floor and pull the rag out of the murky water. I throw it on the ground and cringe as the blood beneath it runs across the floor.
I grab the rag and wipe the floor in circles, closing my eyes as the blood gets all over my hands.
This is going to be no easy task.

Question (please comment!) do you like that I have both points of views or should I just do the queen's?
