Nineteen
"No way." Sophie said.
"Yes way." Dex said.
"I have no idea-way." said Keefe.
"You had to ruin the moment." Biana cut in.
"My pleasure! You're welcome, of course."
"It's impossible to talk to you."
"Good to know."
"Look, guys, you know Dex has super important information so maybe we could move our bickering sessions after he breaks all of the life-changing information to us, okay?" Sophie cut in.
"We're ready when you're ready," Sophie told Dex.
"Uh, ok. So... by the way, I'm just asking this to check my information. You said the only info we have is when, where, and why the symbol was created?" Dex asked.
"Yes," Sophie agreed and nodded.
"We were going to get to the point where we were gonna raid all libraries existent but you came along and (hopefully) solved all our problems!" Keefe said.
"Uhh... sure. And where was it created?" Dex asked Sophie.
"I didn't get very much information on that, though I'm sure it said somewhere that it was created in a Forbidden City."
"I need the exact place." Dex said, "In order to test my theory."
"I'm not sure you'll understand this-"
"I'll survive." Dex said.
"Ok. It was in the U.S, which is basically a country I was in..."
"Ok, we're getting somewhere."
"And the state is Flordia."
"Isn't that the place with the pretty beaches? My mom watched a movie about it. My mom loves those movies."
"Uh, yea." Sophie said.
"So I'm done double-checking that part. When was it made?" Dex asked
"It was created during a war. World War Two, I believe.
"Oh, right! I remember a history lesson in class where this professor just sat there for three hours and rambled on how humans fight their own species and have bloody wars and whatnot. It was cool though. We got to see blood." Keefe said.
"B-blood?" Biana asked.
"No, we're not talking about blood-" Fitz said.
"-because we're trying not to die right now. Thanks for the reminder." Sophie said.
"And why was it created?"
"To use it as a code in battle."
"I got it!" Dex said.
"I certainly hope you do. We've been waiting! For so long too." Keefe said.
"I agree," a voice said from the back.
Without looking, Keefe said, "What is wrong with grownups popping in when we've finally figured something out?"
Keefe was only greeted by silence until Sophie said something.
"Dex," Sophie corrected, "Dex figured something out."
"Same difference."
"You realize those words are opposites, right?" Biana asked.
"Keefe can tell you what he realizes after Dex tells us what he realizes about the symbol." Mr. Forkle jumped in.
"Way to kill the fun." Keefe muttered quietly but everyone could hear him.
"So..." Dex started, "We're supposed to meet them in... what Forbidden City is it? Forka? No, that sounds wrong. Flapido? I think it's-"
"Florida," Sophie jumped in and said "Just to make sure we don't end up in Mexico or something," after Dex gave her a look that said why did you yell?
"Yes. That. What she said. We're supposed to meet them in exactly three weeks. And we're supposed to use this symbol as a code. We'll have to send the symbol over there to symbolize that we've received the message."
"So....let's get to work."
_______
Sorry I had to cut the chapter short, but Dex needs to be in the spotlight. Like seriously.
And thanks so much to the people that have voted and commented. I haven't have time to message some people because it's the last few weeks of school and final projects and stuff exist. Sadly.
Second update of the week!
Thank you guys so much. You guys are amazing.
Thanks again and have a grant rest of your day.
