CHAPTER 2

CHAPTER 2

{POV: Samantha}

I was burning.

I was positive my head was smoldering with smoke and flame.

The pain was blinding. I scratched out blindly trying to get away from the dangerous flames. I felt nothing but emptiness. Yet, the burning continued endlessly.

I opened my eye just a slit to see if my pillow was on fire, but there was no pillow. Just a black slick lether couch. I let out a soft moan and clutched my head shifting to my side. The sudden movement sent the room spinning and a squeezed my eyes shut.

I racked my brain for a clue to where I was. I remembered going to a concert with Sydney, but not much after that.

HOLY SHIT! I'VE BEEN KIDNAPPED!

My mother had told me stories about the dangers in Chicago such as mugging, murders, etc. I should've stayed home like she had said to do!

My heart started pounding as I began to panic.

Maybe I could wrestle my way out. I was no weakling... I thought of the CSI shows I had watched last week. Someone always ended up dying.

If a murderer was able to carry me (130 lb) to another building then he would be able to fight me off at any sign of rebellion.

I peeked through my eyelashes again to get a better scope of the room. It was a pretty bare room except for the couch I was on or at least from what I could see.

"Hey guys! She moved!" I thickly british accented male said abruptly.

I stifled a yelp. They've come to kill me!!! I thought terrified my heart picking up to an irregular speed.

I silently prayed to the God that may or may not be out there.

"Woah, calm down." An irish accent soothed. Wait! Irish. I knew that voice.

I opened my eyes and strained my neck up to be met with icy blue ones. I screeched in surprise at him being so close and fell back off of the couch. My head landed with an aching thump.

Spots appeared before my eyes again as I tried to refocus on the ceiling I was now looking up at. I struggled to sit up.

"Bloody hell Niall, you'll give her a heart attack." A totally different voice scolded. The owner slowly approached the back of the couch.

"Are you alright love?" The boy asked concerned his brown eyes twinkled-- Shut up!

"Eh, ye. I mean no. I mean-- Who the hell are you?" I stuttered heart still pounding against my chest.

The boy ruffled his straight brown hair his eyes widened in surprise. "How hard did you his your head?" He asked smirking. I glared at him shooting knives with my gaze.

"I remember you guys from the concert, but I never bothered to learn any of your names." I replied bluntly as I pushed my curls behind my ear.

"Oh, well I'm Zayn." The boy stated. "That's Harry." He motioned to the curly brown haired boy. "That's Liam." Pointing to the other brown haired dude. "You've already met Niall yes?" He asked nodding to the blonde who was being mobbed. He had a bruise on his forehead, but grinned at me.

'I'm Louis!" A chirpy slightly annoying guy with brown hair bounced onto the couch. I nodded still narrowing my eyes at the boys.

Zayn glared at Louis for interrupting him. He rolled his eyes and looked at me. "And you are?" He asked politely.

I pondered for a second over the idea to give them a fake name. I thought better of it. "Samantha." I replied blandly. "People call me ginger though."

"I can see why." Niall mused grinning. I rolled my eyes and realized I was still on the ground still. I started to haul myself up using the side of the couch. The room started to spin and I swayed for a moment.

Zayn offered out a hand to help me up. "No. I'm fine." I growled through clenched teeth. He raised his eye brows surprised at the rejection.

I finally stood up and immediately was in pain. I was pretty sure there were bruises all over my legs and I think my head was still bleeding. Which brought up another point.

"Why in the hell didn't you take me to a doctor! Also, where am I?" I yelled at the five boys who looked at me strangely.

"Well, we really didn't think you needed it." Liam spoke up. "That and as soon as we found you and Niall, the security chased after the girls and we quickly hauled you guys inside to here." He went on his voice growing worried.

"Yes, because a bleeding head does not need medical attention." I said lacing my voice with sarcasm.

"Well, someone woke up on the wrong side of the cement." Louis said grinning from ear to ear. "We arn't used to girls talking to us like that." He pointed out slowly narrowing his eyes at me.

"You would be crabby too if someone shoved you onto your head knocking you out." Niall defended me. I glared at him not needing help.

I shook my head. "Whatever, where's my phone?" I asked feeling it's absence from my bra and my pocket. I need to put a tracker on the thing or hook it onto a key chain.

The boys started looking around the small room. "Is this it?" Zayn asked handing me my iPhone.

"Yep." I replied popping the 'p'. I awakened the phone from it's slumber.

5 MISSED CALLS

FROM: SYDNEY

"Shit, Sydney is gonna kill me." I muttered and quickly dialed her number. I glanced at the boys who were standing awkward. I waved them away and they scrambled to look like they were busy doing something.

She picked up on the 3rd ring. "Hello? Ginger? Where the hell are you? I've been waiting for--"

"Sydney, shut up for a moment so I can talk!" I yelled exasperated. I started to explain the situation in a low quiet voice.

"AHHH! You met One Direction!!! And you saved Niall!!" I cringed as Sydney started screeching into the phone. I covered the reciever until she was done flipping out.

"Yes, I did. Now, right now I have no idea where I am, but I'll text you as soon as I find out." I hung up quickly before she could go into another screaming fit.

"You did kind of have a point." A voice spoke close behind me. I spun around to see Zayn smirking. "We probably should get your head checked out, but your not going anywhere. Having been the ones responsible for hitting you in the head we must make sure you are not hurt. You can tell your friend just to meet us here." He finalized.

I opened my mouth to protested, but closed it with a snap knowing it would be futile. I sighed and started texting Sydney.

{POV: Sydney}

No fair! Ginger doesn't even like them and she got to meet them! I pouted as I pulled the phone away from my ear.

I started to stuff my phone into my pocket when it vibrated.

NEW MESSAGE

FROM: YOUR BESTEST GINGER FRIEND EVER!!

Hey, bit of an issue... Don't flip out, but the dumb arses are holding me captive for awhile to get my head checked out. They said just to come into the arena and back stage. Ask a security dude for directions to the brake room or whatever. Oh! And bring Jessica too so she doesn't have to wait in the car idling.

-Ginger xx

My heart fluttered in my chest. I was going to meet One Direction.... No way! Don't go fan girl Sydney. You'll just make a fool of yourself. I reminded myself.

I composed myself and looked around the parking lot for Jessica's car. Jessica was our other friend who lived in Chicago and also our place to stay and also our ride back.

I spotted her bright yellow bug parked near the end of the cement. I raced over to the car and started pounding on the window.

There was a screech from inside and the window rolled down. "What!" Jessica yelled ducking down to see me.

"You might want to come in... We could be a while." i quickly explained what had happened to ginger.

Jessica rolled her eyes. "Of course she got herself mobbed." She muttered and got out of the car.

----------------------------

We easily found the security guard as Ginger had said and asked for the brake room.

The dude held up a meaty arm and started pointing down the hall. "Go straight and take a right. Then you should see a light green room and you have found it."

I nodded and grabbed Jessica by the wrist to drag her. My heart fluttered in anticipation.

I looked back at Jessica trailing behind. There was a nervous light gleaming in her blue eyes.

"Nervous are we?" I laughed, "I thought you weren't a fan."

Jessica glared at me all nervousness gone. Jessica was from Doncaster, England and had already been to college there so she had a bit of an accent. You could hear it thickly when she was mad.

"No! I'm not. Shut the bloody hell up and lets go!" Jessica yelled at me.

I rolled my eyes still grinning. I took a sharp right and spotted the green room.

The door was closed. I took a deep breath and touched the top of my hair to make sure there were no fly aways. I knocked on the door 3 times.

It quickly swung open to reveal Louis. "Hi, you must be Sydney!" He said cheerfully.

I nodded unable to speak. I tried to compose my pounding heart. I cleared my thoat. "This is--"

"Jessica?!" Louis interrupted in disbelief.
