•••
The week went by in a haze. Outside of their dorms Draco and Harry bickered and yelled at eachother, pretending to hate one another.
Most of their fighting was just petty insults, stupid little things. But sometimes they lunged at eachother to make it seem more realistic, having their friends hold them back, luckily. Because they knew that if they didn't hold them back, they wouldn't hit eachother... and that'd come off as... odd.
Extremely odd.
In their dorms was a different story.
They'd joke about how idiotic their acting was, and how unbelievable it was... they were surprised that Hermione bought it, of all people.
They'd make fun of eachothers horrid acting and silly faces they made during their arguments, and most of the time they ended up hitting one another upside the head.
They spent most of their free time in their dorms considering they couldn't really be friendly with eachother around other witches and wizards... but they also hung out in the clock tower quite often. People rarely go up there. And late at night, past curfew, they'd sneak into the Astronomy Tower... they'd also sneak there when they had free periods, because people rarely went up there unless it was for homework...
"For someone who just began walking properly, you can make it up these stairs fast." Draco stated, trying to catch up to Harry as they made their way up the Astronomy Tower.
Harry shrugged, "I mean, I am quite talented." He spun around so he could face Draco.
He was ten steps ahead of him, "hurry up, Malfoy," Harry teased. "It's almost dinner and my friends are going to be wondering where I am - and it won't take long for them to realized you're missing as well."
Draco rolled his eyes and jogged up to Harry, each of them quickly making it up the rest of the stairs, "maybe not for Granger, but It'll definitely take Weasly some consideration," Draco joked, earning a glare from Harry in return.
"I'm surprised Granger hasnt caught on yet, actually," Draco spoke, his breath ragged from rushing up the stairs, "She's smart."
"She almost caught on." Harry stated. "Remember that day we were bickering, and I actually punched you? It was because Hermione was giving us an odd look."
Draco rubbed his jaw at the memory, "Ah, yes. I was pissed at you. I wasn't too surprised, actually... I forgot we were friends at the time. Because you punched me."
Harry chuckled, "I know. I have the bruises to prove it."
Harry rolled up his shirt, showing off the bruises caused by Draco's fists, which came in contact with him as soon as Harry's fist collided with his jaw.
Draco smirked, proud.
"Sorry," He teased, his smirk still playing, "Not really though."
Harry rolled his eyes and creaked the wooden door opened, stepping into the round, opened room.
"Why are we up here anyway?" Draco asked, following Harry inside.
It was their free period before lunch, and luckily no one was up here.
Harry paused, blushing, "Um... just to hang out," he lied, shrugging, "We can't just keep disappearing into our dorm. I'm getting sick of it. And people are beginning to get suspicious as to why we disappear into our dorm so much if we hate eachother."
Draco nodded, "very true... and you had planned to do something up here?"
"Well," Harry smirked, flicking his wand before putting it back into place.
soft music began to play. "I was thinking we could dance?" Harry asked, sticking his arm out.
"Why, quite the romantic," Draco teased, "and where's my flower?" He joked, putting his hand in Harry's palm, "Ah, that's right, the girls aren't supposed to get the guys flowers."
Harry laughed, "Says the one who spends hours per day in the mirror fixing their hair."
Draco shrugged, "that isn't called being a girl, potty. It's called having class, something you clearly don't have."
Harry rolled his eyes, "whatever, Malfoy."
They danced together to a low melody, a song named 'disenchanted' playing, by My Chemical Romance. It was a muggle song - and band - that Harry had been quite fond of, and he knew it'd be something that Draco has never heard. Draco would be lying if he said he didn't like the song.
"Draco, I have something to ask you," Harry said, blush tinting his cheeks.
"Hmm?" Draco hummed, "and what's that?"
Before Harry could speak Draco pushed apart from him, "wait, shut up for a second,"
They stayed silent.
Footsteps.
"Hide," Draco hissed.
"What about-"
"It's Astoria! Now hide!"
Harry nodded. He ignored the jealousy at the pit of his stomach and pulled his bundled Invisibility cloak from under his robe, pulling it over him - and just in time.
"Draco!" Astoria's high pitched voice gasped. "I've been looking everywhere for you!" She exlaimed, throwing herself at Draco; pulling him into a hug.
Draco stood still, his arms to the side, "what for?"
Astoria smiled innocently as she pulled apart and slipped a letter in his hand.
Instantly he tore it opened, reading the letter;
/an: i couldnt find Astoria's parents names so I just made them up,if you can find their names please let me know/
Draco Malfoy and Astoria Greengrass have officially been set to marry at the age of 21, by law. Having been signed by both parties parents.
Unless both parties parents decide to break the contract as one, they are, by law, forced to marry.
If you are to break this contract you will be sent directly to Azkaban.
In order to divorce, you must be together for at least seven years, and have had a child (male or female,) together. This does NOT include adopting (unless one or both people are unable to reproduce, then they must reside to adoption.)
If you are to divorce before these rules have been completed, and without each parents of each parties consent, you are to be sent to Azkaban.
Signed-
Lucius Malfoy, sitk greengrass
Narcissa Malfoy, Lila Greengrass
Draco swallowed, shoving the letter into his robe, tears pushing at the back of his eyes.
"Come, Draco, Dinner is almost ready," Astoria smiled sweetly and moved to link her arms with Draco's.
The smile made Draco want to shove her off the tower.
"I'll... be down in a second. I'll catch up." His voice was barely audible.
"Alright! See you soon!" Astoria pecked his cheek before quickly exiting the room, a wide smile set on her face.
Draco wiped his cheek as soon as she disappeared.
The jealousy in Harry's stomach grew, but he kept it under control as he removed his invisibility cloak.
"What was that about?" He asked, making Draco jump in surprise.
He had completely forgotten about Harry being in there, his mind too distracted by the contract.
Harry noticed how pale Draco looked- paler than usual, and how he was avoiding his eyes.
"Nothing... Meet me back here after supper, there's something I need to tell you - and it's dinner, I have to go... oh, and you can ask me what you wanted to earlier. Just meet me back here." Draco ordered, avoiding eye contact as he rushed down the stairs.
Harry stared at the door that Draco just ran out of.
What was in that letter?
