Chapter thirty

[One week later]

"Are you ever going to tell your friends?" Draco asked Harry as they made their way down the halls.

"Tell them what?"

Draco glared at Harry, as if it were obvious, "About us."

"Oi, you're the one who wanted to keep it a secret." Harry snapped, smirking, "And what? Are you nervous?"

"Of course I'm bloody nervous! They hate me. Especially Weasley."

Harry rolled his eyes, "Don't worry about it, okay? I'll bring it up after the Hogsmeade trip. They're going to want to spend time together alone, anyway. They're dating, y'know. I'll just casually drag you along."

Ah, yes. The Hogsmeade trip. That is where they were going.

"Won't they think it odd? That I'm walking around with you?" Draco raised a brow. "We're supposed to hate each other."

Harry nodded, "Of course they will. Hermione'll know somethings up right away- maybe you should try hanging out with Pansy and Blaise, alright? We could meet up again after an hour of being there, sound good?" Harry asked as he stopped walking and turned to look at Draco, Draco doing the same.

Draco rolled his eyes, "Fine. It's going to be bloody annoying, though. They're dating." He scowled.

"Oh, boo hoo. I have to deal with my two best friends dating as well, you know."

Draco crossed his arms, "But you're used to it."

"Grow up, Ferret. And we're going to be late, you need to learn to walk faster."

They began fast-walking towards the meet up place, "Alright, I'll see you in about an hour, and you'll be fine." Harry reassured as he quickly parted from his boyfriends to meet his two friends.

"Harry, honestly, we haven't seen you in forever." Hermione said as they entered The Three Broomsticks.
They were desperate for some butterbeer.

"I know, I know," Harry replied, sitting at the bar, "Here, to make it up to you guys, I'll pay for the Butter Beer."

He ordered three, one for each of them, "See?"

Hermione rolled her eyes but smiled nonetheless, thanking the bartender for her drink.

It wasn't a few minutes into small talk - just catching up - before Neville, Luna and Ginny found them; Luna and Ginny holding hands.

"Hullo, Harry, Ron, and Hermione." Luna said, her voice still soft and high as usual. Neville and Ginny said their hellos as well, causing the trio to nod back, smiling.

Ron was distracted with the three that had just walked in, while Hermione and Harry were talking amongst ourselves.

"Hermione, I need to tell you something," Harry said, trailing off the topic they were just going over, "I'm planning on telling Ron later on, but I was thinking on telling you first, since you're more...sensible."

"Alright, what is it?" She smirked, "are you in love?"

At that word heat immediately rose to Harry's cheeks.

Hermione gasped, "Really?! Oh, Harry! Who is it?!"

"Shh," He ordered, "Ron can't know, not yet." Harry glanced back at Ron, making sure he was still involved in his own conversation. Currently, him and Neville had began to arm wrestle.

"Okay," He turned back to Hermione, "You and Ron both hate this person, so please don't get angry," He pleaded.

Hermione smirked, "It's Malfoy, isn't it?"

More heat rushed to Harry's cheeks, all the way up to the tip of his ears, "How did you...?"

"It's quite obvious, really. And I'm not mad, Harry. As long as you're happy," she grinned, "So? How long?"

"Well, it's only been about a week. It's nothing serious, really... but... okay, so months before we started dating we had a make-out session, and, we've kissed before we dated too. Twice..." Harry's blush deepened as he avoided Hermione's gaze.

"Merlin!" Hermione giggled, "That's a lot for supposed-to-be-enemies! How did it start? How did you two get together?"

"Well," Harry glanced back at Ron, "I was thinking I'd share the rest of the details around Ron. Y'know, when he's paying attention... I was thinking of telling him after the Hogsmade trip." He explained, "I'm just worried he'll take the information badly and freak out."

Hermione shrugged, "Probably at first, but he's your best friend. He'll warm up to him, I promise. Anyways! What are you doing hanging out with us and not your boyfriend?"

"I haven't seen you lot in a while," Harry excused, "I told him I'd meet up with him an hour after we got here."

"Well, let's not waste our hour with you." She smiled and stood up. "Guys, c'mon," she called, leading the rest of their friends out.

Honestly, Harry thought, It wasn't as awkward as I thought it'd be around Ginny. It felt as though we never dated in the first place, and she acted as though nothing happened between us.

They walked in a group, not really knowing where to go. They stopped by a few shops, giggling as Ron put on ridiculous masks from the masks shop, and nearly falling to the floor from laughter when Neville and Harry tried on some hideous dress robes. Not even the clerk at the store - who made the God awful robes - could be angry at them, and let a few chuckles out as Neville and Harry began walking back and forth the aisle, as though they were models.

Before Harry knew it, an hour and a half had past. Without him even realizing.

"Harry," Hermione hissed, "You're half an hour late."

Harry's heart stopped, "Shit." He took off the ridiculous robe, "I have to go, sorry," He called as he darted out of the shop.

By the time he got to the middle of Hogsmeade, where they planned on meeting, Draco was about ready to leave.
Harry spotted Draco's neat, blond hair through the few people that surrounded the small area.

"Draco!" Harry called out, but his calling only made Draco rush out of here quicker, "Draco! Wait!" He called once more, pushing past the people blocking his road.

By the time he caught up with Draco, they were in a secluded area. No one walking around besides the two boys.
Harry grabbed Draco's wrist as soon as he was able to, "Draco," Harry panted, "I'm sorry I'm late. I was distracted."

"Oh, no, don't worry about it." Draco said sharply, sarcasm hinted in his words, "You were probably bad mouthing me, anyways. I can't believe I was so bloody blind. Why would you have any interest in me, anyway? I'm a bloody idiot."

"Draco - no-  I didn't!" Harry whined, "I just lost track of time."

Draco stayed silent, as if debating whether or not to believe Harry.

"Draco, honestly, if I wanted to bad mouth you I'd do it in front of you. Like, literally at you." Harry explained, "I wouldn't do that to you. Not now. Stop being so dramatic. You know I wouldn't do that."

Paused before rubbing his fingers over his left eyebrow, "I know... I'm sorry... I just... I was worried."

"I would never talk bad about you, Draco. Especially now."

"I know." Draco's sighed, "I'm sorry."

Harry smiled, "It's alright." Harry replied.

Harry grabbed Draco's hand and intertwined their fingers, causing the blond to blush, "Anyways, we still have another hour left, what do you want to do?" Harry asked.

"Well, for starters, we could go somewhere more secluded where no one will catch us holding hands," Draco suggested, a slight blush tinting his cheeks when he mentioned hand holding.

Harry nodded, "Alright," He smiled

It's weird, Draco thought, I'm holding hands with Harry Potter. Someone I used to envy - to Hate... and yet... it feels so right, to be right next to him, holding his hand.

Draco snuck a glance at Harry. His cheeks were slightly tinted in pink from the cold. It made Draco's heart race a bit more.

I'm glad it's like this. I'm glad I'm with him. I wouldnt have it any other way.
