46|| Death Grasp

Silas found himself running farther and farther till he found the slight entrance of the warp core. Sweat was wiped against his forehead, drenching the back of his neck. Trying to keep his hair slicked back from falling in first of his face.

Ducking from canon blasters that were blasting up from the high corners of the walls. Guards had fallen over one by one, causing more dead bodies lying around. Though he was disgusted, he kept his focus on the mission.

Olivia had been following after him, protecting from any blasts. She easn't let anything cost them the mission. The rumbles of gunfire hitting against the ship, slightly making them jolt.

He pulled himself up, immediately rushing over to a console, flicking the screen to show security cameras, "He did one thing right!"

Olivia knew exactly who he meant, obviously that was Jim. The scavenger was frustrated by who he had to work with, probably just as much as everybody was. Though to her dismay, she saw through the security cameras that Jim and recently beamed down, Spock were there.

"What about that Warp core?" Olivia shouted.

"I'm working on it!" Silas shouted back. Flicking his fingers across the console, though his eyes caught a glimpse of Amaya and Brystal running past them.

They seemed to be okay, except the occasional shooting at guards, but they seemed unhurt. That sent a wave of relief through him, much more than him just trying to stay calm. He'd been used to being the person scanning out things and various cracking codes.

It was much more harder for him not to just flick his fingers and go inside everyone's minds. He could control him anybody he wanted to with his mind. Make them do anything to get his plan to workout just right.

But he didn't. He hated thinking about how much that would make others suffer, so he pushed that idea deep down into his core. His mind searching for a better option then controlling others.

"What's taking so long?" Jim's voice called to Olivia's.

She immediately turned grateful to see him, "I don't know!"

"My god! Do you people ever shut up?!?" Silas shouted, his concentration was whacked out of place.

"I find that the scavenger requires silence in order to perform his duties," Spock responded to Silas's slight aggression.

Silas wanted to punch everyone around him so badly. Frida and Jason had at least been quiet enough for him just enough to allow him. He could know see why Brystal had been so talkative and demanding towards him.

She was persistent like the crew of the Enterprise, he wouldn't last one minute onboard that vessel. But he didn't have much of a chance if wanted all his crimes cleared or to leave a normal life. And that's all he wanted at this point.....freedom.

That's when his console barked a shade of red, causing his eyes to widen to his own horror. Hurriedly, he tried another passcode before realizing he was already doomed. Failure had already succeeded.

"Satan Fucking Damnit!!" Silas cursed, hitting the controls. His rage clearly showing as he took in an angry and sharp breath. Clearly, he was frustrated, sending all eyes on him

"Anya closed it all off! There's no entrance!!"

"You've got to be kidding me!!" Olivia cursed.

"No, there has to be some other way in," Jim urged.

"What idea could that be?" Silas said both incredulously and angrily, "Options we have are getting even more screwed!!"

"We already have the distraction you requested. Mr. Sulu awaits signs for the warp core to have start to fracture and cripple. You have inflicted your failure to what you promised," Spock spoke up.

"If Brystal trusts you, then I have to try," Jim spoke up, "You brought her back....i don't know why you did, but you did it all impetuously. From what I know and have seen you done, you've made the impossible now the possibility."

Silas looked around, knowing he'd failed. That was his last shot at freedom was what his brain kept screaming at him. He had to think of something, slightly blurring Kirk's words out before his eyes landed in an aircraft behind a window to the docking bay of the ship.

It was a nicely seized aircraft, sharply edged at the corners. He'd seen a few in his time, helped to even engineer a few.  He knew simple control manuals on various ships that were designed quite like them.

A plan began formulating in his mind, like wires being taped back together. He didn't know if the crews recklessness had rubbed off on him. Probably Brystal's influence mostly.

"How far can a ship fit through a ship like this?" Silas asked Spock, suddenly.

"It'll reach at least to the point of which it completely halts in the middle. Chances of survival doing so would be 98.7%."

"Not for me," Silas smiled, pointing towards the ship, "I can fly that into the core."

The three examined the ship, but immediately responded with the Lieutenant gawking at him. She probably thought he was being ridiculous and too extreme. Though he noticed she'd given that look to everybody lately.

"That's crazy!!" Olivia responded.

"It could work," Jim agreed, seeing Olivia give him an incredulous look like he was an idiot.

"How to do you plan to escape afterwards?" Spock questioned Silas.

"I'll figure it out later."

"The Great Brystal Pike," Anya spoke in a slight snarl, sensing the two women's presence behind her, "Your reputation as well as Ms. Callius proceeds."

She resisted pulling through with anger, and instead spoke gruffly and cruelly. The urge to just send electricity bolts through either woman was tempting, and would be easy. But she wanted entertainment, the pleasure of watching suffering that would soon be gifted to her.

Brystal immediately raised her gun, aiming at Anya's head. Though she had no intent of killing Anya at anytime soon, she knew she'd had to take precautions. Callius had taught her well enough to know how to state her ground.

Amaya and her stood by side, looking at each other once before Brystal spoke up, "My mother talked about you, Anya."

Anya felt those words pierce through her heart as Brystal continued, "She always put in a good word for everybody. Told me all about how you were some of the recreations she saved."

"Then you should know exactly the words she aid to me the day she did," Anya began circling the two like vultures over their prey, "Taking away what he needs to conquer galaxies will save us all."

Brystal's eyes widened in realization, "You misunderstood them just as well as you misunderstands them now."

"Did I though?" Anya threatened her, "He wants Hybrids and you are one."

"You've gotten to the hybrid part already?" Amaya whispered.

"Yes," Brystal whispered back.

"Why is it not just half-recreation?" Amaya whispered before, slowly pulling the dagger out from behind her back.

"So.....if you have accepted you fate, Pike," Anya spat out Brystal's last name, "You can't escape this no longer."

"Anya, it doesn't have to be this way," Brystal tried again, "Your confused, this isn't what my mother meant!"

"Then maybe you never knew your own mother at all!"

That immediately shattered a small trigger in Brystal's heart, making tears want to come. Just knowing that her mother never told her what she actually was......that was already painful enough. But that sent a shot of rage as well through her.

Amaya noticed Brystal's finger slightly linger and fidget of the trigger. She was doing her best from being emotionally compromised once more. And that slightly hurt Amaya, her instinct of acting like her sister kicked in.

Amaya's eyes darkened, immediately she responded angrily, "You don't get to fucking say that to her!" She raised the dagger so that it was barely inches away from Anya.

But Anya couldn't care less about the young scavenger in front of her. Hearing many stories of Amaya's reputation varied from the woman's rudeness, high confidence, and useage of trying to seduce others to her will. The girl was nothing, but a minority.

Then another question came in Anya's mind, why did Brystal stand side by side with the girl that ruined her original life plans? Every scavenger knew of Amaya's betrayal and allowed, given access to others to finally collapse the once mighty, Renegades. Everyone knew well enough that these girls should inevitably hate each other.

"Like I don't need you here right now," Anya smirked as she reached to be standing in front of Amaya.

Before either girl could make a move, Anya took hers with pride. Outstretching her hand, quickly, seeming bolts of lightning shooting at Amaya. Sparking and stinging the scavengers body.

Amaya let out a painful scream, but Brystal immediately took a chance on . This she could scream all she wanted to Amaya, but that wouldn't do her any good. So instead, she cocked the phaser to Anya's arm and fired.

Anya felt the slight sharp pain of the phaser hit, only for her to throw her arm to the side. Sending Amaya spiraling across the floor, stopping till she was almost out of reach from Brystal. Angering herself slightly, Brystal pulled out the other dagger.

"Not going to say anything about her?" Anya asked, one hand placed on her newly injured hip and the other grabbing out a long blade.

"You never knew my mother at all, Amaya was right."

Anya gritted her teeth. Running at Brystal, sword ready to strike down from Anya's fury. But Brystal instead put some of Callius's teachings to mind, and swerved out of the way.

Silas felt the ship jolt underneath, his feet causing him to curse at abruptness of it. Obviously, the ship hand't used in quite a long time. The controls looked a bit rusty, and obviously needed oil in some places.

He always seemed to find ships that probably needed better care, not to his liking. Not even when he felt like the ships might just collapse on them. Instead he took out the com that was hooked below the control panel, seeing it was glowing red.

"Hello?"

"Are you Silas's ship?" A young Scottish voice came through the com, "We need to know because we don't want to accidentally shot someone done."

The com made a slightly glitching sound as the young Scottish cursed at something. Silas then suddenly recognized who the young man talking to him was. It had been that Lieutenant Commander on the bridge.

Hearing slightly in the other end, "Scotty! We gotta hurry this up!!"

"Indeed, this is the craft I'm flying," Silas answered.

"Good, needed a double check. Stewart out."

Silas immediately placed the com pack underneath his console, searching over what seemed like mountains of information. Buttons and switches flashing brightly in first of his face.his main focus seemed extremely off, but he tried his hardest to concentrate.

Concentrate.

That word had been used a dozen times when Arik taught him how to use his new found powers. When he had exited his frozen pod me had even used for a century to control others. Reading their minds and playing the painful memories he saw to torture them.

Immediately, when he finished each day, he'd find himself almost breakdown from all the pain he knew. He saw different memories, but they reminded him of his old life in the woods he'd grown up in. Reminded him of his family that had died long ago, ones he never got to say goodbye to.

He'd watched in those people's heads: a girl running to her mother, laughing with friends, or even just a couple going to see a drive in movie. It all hurt so much. And yet here he was still standing.

But he put that deep down as he jolted the lever of his ship forward. Sending him launching through the dark pits of space. Dodging past the various fires of gunfire aimed at the Enterprise.

He wiped a large puff of hair that had landed in his forehead back. Frustrated, but still finding himself willing enough o be doing something so reckless. Something that Jason would've pulled rather than him.

"Here goes nothing," He told himself.

Brystal dodged another swing, another shot of lightning, and inevitably finding herself inhaling shallow breaths. She had to admit Anya was much more faster than she would've presumed. After all, Anya was the one who had lived for a few centuries.

But Brystal had been swift enough to be able to dodge the attacks. Her mind was slightly worried though for Amaya's well being, seeing her body slowly try to wake up. So she decided to drive the fight away from her so she wouldn't get anymore injuries.

Anya and Brystal's blades clashed, sending the two eyeing each other. Contrasting Anya's angered composure and Brystal's calmed complexion that showed no trace of frustration. Though through the inside she was fueled with every inch of skill she had.

But instead, Brystal decided to take matters into her own hands. She swung her blade, causing Anya's to slightly slip from her grasp. Brystal formed a circle before swinging her leg into Anya's ribcage, causing a grunt to escape the woman.

"You know something?" Brystal smirked, "you are not at all how my mother described you at being really good at defense and instincts."

Anya snarled and swung sharply, only to miss Brystal once again. Causing Brystal to allow herself to taunt Anya as she looked up at her from where she'd slid out of the way. Giving Brystal an opportunity to try to end the fight sooner.

"You lack discipline. Control. And worst of all," Brystal launched herself towards Anya, "You're sloppy."

Obviously, knowing she'd hit a spot on Anya. Watching as a swing almost chipped a piece her insignia of her suit. The next one didn't miss any part of Brystal's body, taking a nice slalom at her right leg.

Brystal held back a grunt of pain, but could slowly feel the blood start to slip from the new wound. She swung only to watch Anya use all her force finally, to send the dagger flying over to the side. Too far for Brystal to reach, who immediately tried to reach  for her weapon.

But Anya didn't allow her to. She extended her hand, viciously outward and sending lighting swirling around Brystal's body. Lifting her slightly a bit fore toe, making her feel as if she couldn't escape. While Anya smirked and circled around Brystal once more, enjoying seeing the woman suffering endure.

"You're not one to say that," Anya taunted back, "Don't you ever think of giving up a fight."

"What do you expect?!?" Brystal replied, "Us humans are so emotional!"

"You are not human," Anya screamed.

"I'm half human and you were once one too!" Brystal retaliated.

Anya had seen this type of character out of anyone she'd met. The type that was really brave, willing to sacrifice everything, but those people were silently breaking on the inside. So maybe she had the upper hand in this situation.

"You try so hard to be the person who keeps everyone under your command and care safe, but that doesn't mean you've never failed," Anya smiled.

"What are you...."Brystal's confusion, turned to realization and anger, "Stop! Just stop."

"People have hurt you? Haven't they?" Anya tipped Brsytal's shin to look directly at her, "They didn't believe in you, not even trusted you. And like your little friend over their riding need you. So she left you, all because she knew the truth. You're the problem and it's all your fault this happens."

Brystal fought back the urge to let tears slip, but found herself struggling to do so, "Doens't mean I still can't try. Those people are my family."

"You will destroy the ones you love in the process. Was. It. Worth it?" Anya snarled, breathing directly into Brystal's ear. Tears blurred the creases of her eyes.

She pushed those thoughts deep down, not believing any word of them. They stung and burnt just as much when she felt very single part of her femur fracture. Pain was a beautiful thing, but she couldn't agree on that.

"Like you did?" Brystal spoke up.

"I did nothing!" Anya raised her voice, "Your story is no different from mine, Pike. We are always forgiving, but never forgiven. Always giving everything our all's but never receiving any thanks. Always trying to fit in, but never enough, but lastly, none of it was ever real."

Brystal knew what she was fighting for. The valuable cause of her crews safety as well as the family she'd made on board there. Something that gave her a spark of hope in her veins.

But what did Anya have to fight for? None of these soldiers were following to their own will  they were chipped by her. She had no friends, only rage controlling her very move just wanting to take the person who created her down.

"You have no cause to fight for!" Brystal argued, trying to pull free from Anya's grasp around her.

"I have a cause-AUGH!!" Anya let out an agonizing scream, Sending Brystal immediately being flung off the edge. But it was enough for her to catch a glimpse of Amaya had plunged a dagger into Anya's back.
