"But you can decide that destiny in this universe."

"I think you beat me to it."

"I don't want you to lose another damn thing!!"

"You can't defeat me."

"That kid isn't backing down, Amaya."

"Someone has to protect them."

"I'm there for you."

"I left a lot of people kid....but I'm still one call away"

"Better than not ever telling you."

"You will suffer for your crimes."

"You promise?"

"I promise."

"Thank God I got to see your face one last time."

"Just! Hold On!"

The voices wavered away as Brystal's eyes slowly opened up, drooping slowly back closed at the shine of bright white light on her face. Her eyes instinctively, opening up to look at her left side.

Just a bad dream. Just another nightmare she told herself.

Nothing looked familiar around her, the shades of blue and black of the room didn't exactly match engineering. The cot she was laying, its left side implanted into the wall with a few strings of white lights.

She slowly sat up, her head still stinging with the pain of the man's metal hand hitting her head. Not quite understanding how her strength had been so easy to fall to the metal. Maybe there was something she still needed to know.

Something about the individuals that captured her was different than anything she'd ever seen happen. No one had been able to sabotage a Starfleet ship like that, at least never on record. No one had that extensive of knowledge of the ships faults and strengths.

She looked to see her right hand was cuffed to the bed, making her groan on frustration.  Tugging with all her might until the cuff sprung off the bed, leaving the metal cuff glued to her hand.

"Tell me, Tell me, tell me lies. Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies."

Her head immediately jolted towards the direction of the music, remembering her kidnappers were probably blasting their music. But Fleetwood Mac? Now something was definitely up with the choice of music.

Silently, her boots touched the floor as she walked away from her prisoner like bed. Shuffling against the black metal ground, picking her feet, ever so slightly off the ground. The closer she got to the doorway of her room, the more she quickened her steps.

The voices of others became evident as she studied the ship, looking at the strange design of the hallways. Illuminated by the reds and blues, a large glass panel opening up to a swirl of purple and blues wrapped into microscopic stars.

The cockpit was wide with three seats, one on top of a balcony like while the others were seated at another level down. Brystal held back a gasp as she carefully backed up against a wall, not wanting to be spotted. The beauty of the Galaxy just paved right in front of her eyes.

"Viper's going to be pleased when we bring the target back," The second man's voice came from the room next to the cockpit area, "His constant asking if we have them under captivity will end. Maybe then he'll stop bothering us so we can have a normal life."

"Of course, he'll be pleased. You know how he is, Silas," The woman's voice came.

"He's not wrong....it's quite annoying," The first man's voice came.

"You don't get to say a thing! You're not the one getting their ass beat up by Viper keeping check on us every second," Silas argued back at the man. The sound of water squirting out a shady bottle could be occasionally heard.

"Now! Now! Come on, Silas! Jason! We need to keep this to workout we can't lose this bounty....you've heard the stories that are told on the streets about the great Enterprise. And maybe I wanted a piece of a Hershey!"

"I already gave Jason the last one!" Silas argued.

The three's argument only gave Brystal a bit more information on the group. The men were named Silas and Jason, nothing about the woman's name. Just the groups bickering already showed they saw each other like siblings and best friends.

Brystal slid down to the ground, sitting quietly on her knees. Looking around the cockpit area, her eyes meeting old and aging Polaroid pictures. She hadn't seen a picture like that in a few years, Elsa loved using the camera.

Something then clicked in her mind. Elsa. The woman who she had most admired of the Renegades, the one who wasn't afraid to stand up and fight, and the only Recreation who was trying to help others away from their creator.

Elsa had left a week after Amaya's betrayal, the day Callius had ordered everyone to never mention the incident and act like nothing happened. Which seemed to have been easy for Adeline and Issac, the sister and brother who now had time to raise their kids. While Brystal was conflicted by the pain of losing her best friend.

She'd been the last person to see Elsa go off. Where Elsa had told her that since the Renegades couldn't be there for those Recreations it needed to be her to protect them. No contact from her for the past 8 and a half years.

This ship.....looked exactly like a T-800. A scavenger ship for recreations. And if she remembered correctly, the ships power button was somewhere in the cockpit.....and is she were correct it was on the lower level.

"Hold up..." Jason broke the arguing, "It's either the computer has a glitch or this Hybrid just escaped her cuffs."

"Hybrid?" Brystal whispered to herself in confusion, quickly sliding over to the ladder down below. She wasn't exactly hoping they wouldn't have noticed her missing this soon.

"Well, just great!" The woman said, flicking off the music which cut off at an abrupt stop, "Now since I'm pissed, I might as well go Poison Ivy mode."

Just as she said that, Brystal watched as green vines began to crawl down the ladder. Her fingers immediately unclenching around the metal bars. A small thud gave away from the ground underneath her, quickly speeding up to look over the cockpits.

The one definite thing was that the woman individual had powers and they were nothing like Elsa's fire powers. Her eyes darted right and left finally settling onto a glowing orb structured into a black squarish shape, just right in front of her.

The core power.

"Hey!" The man named Silas's voice came, "Hands up." His staff now within his hands, sputtering out blue shots of electricity. The man named Jason standing in the other side with phasers that were double gunned aimed directly at her as the woman was covered in vines of greenery.

"Not a chance, assholes," Brystal huffed out before ripping out the core power in mere seconds.

Before Brystal knew it, the engine roaring immediately switched off. Everything in the room shut off, sending shadows of darkness over everyone. Looks of worry were exchanged between the three as Brystal inhaled a sharp breath

And all gravity dropped, sending the ship falling into the bottomless pit of space

Her body floated upward as did many objects on the ship. Gripping tightly to core power as she grabbed hold of the balcony's railing. Strands of her hair flying upward, trying to catch her breath.

"Why the hell did you do that? Put it back in," Silas demanded.

"Why do you think I'd do that?!? Bring me back to my crew and maybe I'll have second thoughts on turning you in!" Brystal shouted, "This an act of war of stealing a Starfleet officer, if you do not return me to my crew."

"Look, Kid! Removing that causes us to appear on every tracking device!" The woman told her.

"Good enough for me! At least then I can get off this bucket of rust!"

"Don't you dare call Journey that!!!" Jason feigned offense.

"You named it after the 80s band?!? Who the heck still listens to them other than me?!?" Brystal cocked her head upward.

The ship continued its endless plummet through space, the air growing thin. Her mind swirling with thoughts of death coming soon, but then again, space was a bottomless abyss.

"Shit!" Silas cursed, "Just fucking great!" Looking down at his watch, gleaming a shade of yellow as red flickered across the screen.

"Language!" The woman shouted at him.

"Oh, fuck it, Frida! Anya's on our tail!"

"Who the hell is-" Brystal started before a memory was plunged back into her mind. Her mother having mentioned a white blonde haired woman called Anya.

"No time! No time! Got to get out of here!" Jason launched his body over the balcony, colliding into Brystal. Her immediate instinct was to try and float away from him, but his metal arm had grabbed her hand carrying the core power.

His grip was practically bruising her wrist, pain shot through her. Kicking her legs to at least stand a fighting chance against him, unsurprisingly failing as he pulled the core power out of her hand, shoving it back into its place.

She immediately kicked him off her, knowing full well she didn't want him landing on top of her. Already having a growing hatred for the man who had knocked her out and dragged her away from the Enterprise. She knew this grudge would withstand until she was off this ship for good.

Just like that, everybody's body's fell to the floor. A groan escaped Brystal's lips as she turned over to sit up, looking at her wrist to see if there were any bruises. Thankfully no injuries, lights flicked in before Frida's eyes.

"She found us."

"Crew of the Journey," A young twenty something year old woman's voice echoed across the ship through the speakers, "You are being hailed for only one reason and I will only ask this once. Give me the Hybrid."

The Journey was faced off with a large triangular ship covered with small pods floating around. The screen glitched to a white blonde woman, draped in all black. Her eyes spitting venom and hatred at the group.

She was occupied with guards at her side, who were also draped in shades of black. Helmets pointed north of were their eyes should be, but their faces were completely covered. Arms crossed behind their backs.

Brystal had barely stood up when Frida, Jason, and Silas all hurried to their seats. Strapping over their very loose leather belts across their chests. Preparing for a big impact while Brystal felt lost and completely stood there.

She looked like she hadn't read the script to the movie, perfectly frozen in place. No idea of where she she should go when all three seats were occupied. There was really nothing she could do in that moment.

"I'm afraid we can't do that. She's scheduled to come with us to Caera. Orders by Soong himself," Jason clears his throat, acting like he wasn't being threatened.

"I will not ask again, Mr. Jason. That Hybrid must be destroyed. Eliminated at the very best." Anya spoke again.

"The turbo flexors are still charging," Silas informed Jason.

"As you also know you can't just terminate a Starfleet officer that is an absolute act of war against the federation. Law 57, paragraph 9, page 29."

Brystal almost gawked at the man. Never in her whole life had she ever heard someone state federation laws by memory, except of course Spock did.

But in her defense, Jason did not look like he'd be one to memorize such things. He could easily be a drunk man on the streets after being at a a bar and making out with various aliens. Now that just sounded like she was slightly describing Jim.

"My patience is wearing thin, Jason. Your arrogance to my command, I assure you, will not go unnoticed."

"Ready when you are, Jason," Frida quietly told Jason.

"Wait a second more," Jason turned his head towards her before snapping back towards Brystal, "And please find a seat belt."

"A seatbelt?!? Where the hell am I going to find one?!?" Brystal argued back, but it was short lived when Anya spoke again. She immediately reached out for a gravitational rope that would at least keep her on the floor if he decided to do some tricks with the ship.

She could see him trying to be a complete showoff.

"Times up, Crew of the Journey. Open fire on their ship," She ordered to her guards.

"Punch it!!!" Jason shouted.

Silas pulled back the lever, sending the ship launching straight forward towards the ship. Accelerating immensely at every second, Brystal found herself struggling to hold onto the bar. Another song blasting across the room as the pods started to line up in front of them.

Space swirling around the ship, endlessly into an oblivion. The only thing she currently liked about the three individuals. And it was their extensive taste in music, not many people listened Beastie Boys these days. Except for maybe her, Jim, Issac, and Adeline.

The pods immediately shot straight towards them as Jason spoke up, "Give me all six canons! Shoot for the core!"

"Coming right up!" Frida responded, flicking across her console. Silas pulled down as soon as canon, fiery blasts obliterated a few pods to pieces.

"Do we have enough fuel to make a 35 degree angle into warp speed?"

"We only have an opening for it behind the ship," Frida informed Jason.

"We have a 50% chance of making that jump," Silas added.

"I'm surrounded by morons," Brystal muttered, pulling her body up against the ladder. The speed of the ships whipping locks of her short hair behind her, feeling a little queasy. They definitely needed some technology that was in the Enterprise, ones that wouldn't make her feel like she might barf as they went into warp speed.

Her heart suddenly ached and ached to go to the Enterprise. She'd watched Olivia crumble to the ground, worry creasing her face as she wondered if Olivia was alright. Was everyone else on the ship okay?

Her thoughts immediately went to Jim. What was he going through right now with her being captured? Probably about to do something courageous, reckless, and slightly stupid was what Brystal told herself.

The ship took a violent turn as a fiery blast grazed the left wing. Brystal felt her body almost bang against the ladder as Silas looked down at a damage assessment.

"We've lost 15% of shields on wing 1!"

"We've got to keep going!" Jason shouted, pulling back the lever, sending the ship swirling around in a full loop, "Frida!?!"

"Turbo flexors need one more minute!"

"Damnit!" Jason exclaimed as another blast collided onto the other wing.

"We need it charging faster!" Silas shouted back to Frida.

"At least I'm the one trying to be careful that we have another person onboard!" Frida yelled angrily at Silas. Jason pulled, violently up on the lever, sending the higher into space. Finally, having made it from underneath the ship.

The black pods jolted upwards at an accelerating pace. Speeding up to get the dead on target in the cockpit. Blasts missing and scraping against the ship.

"Oh! I'm a person now?!? I thought I was something called a Hybrid."

"You're making it sound like it's new to you!" Silas cocked his head at her, quizcallu.

"Of course it's new to me!"

"Five.....four...." Frida counted down to Jason and Silas.

"How's it new?" Jason asked her

"Oh for fuck's sake!! I don't exactly get called a hybrid with a name of Brsytal Pike! It's either Bry, Demi, but mostly commander, if you needed that simple."

"Three..."

"You're.....Ava's daughter?!??" Jason and Silas exclaimed.

"Two......One! Get us out of here!!!" Frida shouted at the two. Their hands instinctively reaching for the levers, sending ribbons of gold and blue spiraling over them.

"No cuffs?" Brystal asked the three, intrigued by why they hadn't, yet put cuffs in her hands.

"Not without some explaining from you," Silas told her.

Brystal scoffed, "What about me? You kidnapped me. Surely you know everything about me at this point. I mean I know your names, Jason, Silas, and Frida, who's just like Poison Ivy."

The Journey had been set to Autopilot, traveling at a steady pace towards stars twisted into puffy purple clouds. Hints of gold sparkled out where stars hung int the sky. No one in Starfleet had ever traveled this far before amongst the stars.

Standing the room that was like a luxurious lounge compared to her quarters. Orange painted beams with sheets of light spreading across the table. Couches circled around, comfy like fur, but Brystal didn't dare sit down.

Being the stubborn first officer she was, she wasn't going to let these three never tell her the truth. Frida sat on the couch, doing what seemed some meditation with a few pots of greenery surrounding her. Silas sat quietly as he searched through document after document on his datapad.

"Well, the guy who put you up for a bounty forgot to mention you were Ava Kznati's daughter. The same Ava who stood up to Soong and was able to disappear. Now just years later we get a guy saying he's found a hybrid."

"What even is a Hybrid?!?" Brystal exclaimed, frustrated beyond belief.

"It's what you are," Silas answered, like a matter of a factly way, "Your half Recreation and half Human, so.....a hybrid."

"I can't just be called Half-Recreation?"

"It's not.....it doesn't really roll off the tongue as good," Jason shrugged.

"You're all recreations....I get it that Frida over there can do things with plants, but."

"I'll do it," Frida opened her eyes, pointing at Jason, "He can control objects and his robotic arm allows him to be an equal against any Recreation in a fight," then she pointed her finger at Silas, "He's supernatural.....he can see ghosts and control souls."

"Minds." Silas corrected her.

"Minds, whatever," Frida rolled her eyes.

"Where are you taking me?" Brsytal demanded from Jason.

"Well.....we can't exactly go anywhere with a damaged ship, so prepare yourself o be landing on a spaceport," Jason said before fixing her a cocky smirk, "And keep yourself under control, Pike."
