Chapter 3: Settling In

It didn't take long for Jimin and Taehyung to get word that Yoongi would be executed. There wasn't a date set, thankfully but it put an intense timer on them regardless. They were still trying to figure out how to get out of here, now they had to save Yoongi's life? Not only that but Jin had been sent to an entirely different kingdom. Things were falling apart quickly...

On top of all of that, the prince was, for one reason or another, infatuated with them. It was all too much for the pair.

Jungkook had left to see Seokjin out, allowing the two the time to really wrap their heads around everything. "Tae, what do we do?" Jimin exclaimed worriedly. "I don't like this place at all and this guy is really weird..."

"He's not weird, he's a historical figure," The giddiness in Taehyung's voice returned as he let out an awestruck sigh. This was all like a dream come true to him! Well, with a little atrous attached. Things were still terrible. "He looks just like his painting, if not better!"

Now, obviously, Jimin wasn't as enthralled with all of this. He found the experience to be nothing but strange and the moment he realised this wasn't a dream, he nearly screamed. Most people would if they were thrown into a freaky alternate dimension. "Focus Tae. Yeah, he's hot."

"That's not what I s-"

"But we need to get the others! Yoongi is going to die if we don't do something!" Yoongi was one of Jimin's best friends outside of Taehyung. If something happened to him, he had no idea what he would do... "What did he call him? Agust D, right? Why does the prince hate him so much?"

Taehyung had to think for a moment. His information about this world was sparse but he was able to piece together a few things. "He called him the King Slayer. I had read about him before so his real name must be Agust D! In the papers, I saw that the rulers of Busan had died by his hands. It's rumoured that he killed the king and queen of Gwacheon too! He must've taken the prince, which is probably why Jungkook was so surprised to see Jin!"

Jimin was amazed that he was able to remember all of that after just a few glances at a couple of old papers. "And now Yoongi's being framed for all of that?"

"Not technically, since he's in the body of-"

"It doesn't matter!" He shouted, making Taehyung hold his hands up. "Okay, the wand got us here, right? It's got to be the thing to get us out! Maybe if we-"

Jimin instantly shut his mouth when the bedroom door creaked open, revealing Jungkook. The prince sauntered in, closing the entrance behind him and furrowing his brow. "I thought I had instructed you to change."

"Right, sorry! We'll get to it now." Grabbing the clothes off the bed, Jimin nearly gagged at them. And he said our outfits were atrocious... Though he was hesitant to even look at them, he began to remove his shirt regardless. Yet he stopped when, just out of the corner of his eye, he saw Jungkook surveying their every movement like a hawk. "We're about to change..."

"Mhm."

"I'm going to take off my shirt..."

"As I would expect you to, carry on."

"YOU FUCKING PERV!" Hearing this, Taehyung finally took notice of the prince's presence. A sigh escaped his lips at the expression on both the other men's faces, praying that the constant arguing wouldn't become normal. "You can't watch us get dressed!"

Jungkook clicked his tongue, standing to his feet and making his way over to the duo. "Had I not made myself clear before?" He asked, voice nearing a baritone and exuding intimidation. "I said I wanted you, did I not? I own you now," His finger traced Taehyung's jaw, tilting his head closer. "Every part of your body is now mine," He whispered. "I can watch if I please."

The prince moved away, watching Taehyung let out the breath he was holding and grinned. There was no winning here, they would have to deal with it. Their shirts were removed and neither failed to notice the way Jungkook's eyes got a little wider when examining their interesting physique.

It was their pants, however, that they were cautious about. "Hey," Taehyung whispered towards Jimin, bringing his attention to him. "I promise I won't look."

"We live together," Muttered Jimin matter of factly. "I've seen every inch of your body. Besides, it's not you that I don't want looking." Just before they could switch their clothes, Jungkook gained their attention once more.

"Hold on," He said. "Turn for me." Was his odd command. Jimin and Taehyung shared a strange look but shrugged, doing as they were told. However, they both gasped when a firm hand came in contact with their rears. "Soft... these will do quite nicely."

"YOUR HANDS ARE STILL THERE!"

"Your point...?" Jimin smacked his hand away, turning around with his face a bright shade of red. Though that didn't stop him from glaring at the prince. "How dare you?"

"How dare I? Says the man who just groped us! You want me? Then you'll have to deal with me. Simple as that." The prince glowered darkly, a growl rumbling in the back of his throat that caught the duo's attention. It was clear he wasn't a fan of not getting what he wanted.

Before things could escalate, Taehyung stood between the two of them. "Calm down, both of you!" These words fell on deaf ears.

"I do as I please and as my consort, you will do what I say!" Jungkook yelled, moving closer to Jimin. The older man only clicked his tongue, sneering.

"Why should I? I'm older!"

"I'm taller!"

"Because of your dumbass heels, we've been through this, you brat!"

Taehyung finally had enough and practically pushed them away from each other, hitting both of them with sharp glares. "What did I just say? Relax!" There was something about his harsh look that made both of them quiet. He wasn't impressed with the way their faces seemed to grow red and rolled his eyes.

Regardless, they looked down in shame and Jimin was the first to apologise. "Right, right... sorry..."

"Mhm..." The brunette only shook his head. Jungkook had gone quiet. Taehyung noticed how he twisted his wand in his hand, seemingly in thought. That was when he was struck with an idea. No one but royals was allowed to touch relics like that, he knew this for a fact. They weren't nobles but they had the opportunity to get close to him and that could be enough to snatch the wand away.

"Tae," Jimin mumbled. "You're still shirtless..."

Taehyung looked down at his exposed chest, suddenly embarrassed. "Oh! Shoot, sorry."

"I like the view," Remarked both of the other men, coy smirks plastered on their faces. Yet they were wiped off once the two glared at one another. It went on for a little longer than expected, as neither wanted to back down but in the end, Jimin looked away first.

Jungkook smiled to himself, brushing his hair back and making his way towards the door. "I shall leave you two be. It will do you well not to take too long."

Jimin let out an annoyed groan the moment the prince was out of sight. "Brat... I hate him so much."

"Mochi, I've got a plan to get the wand. But you're not gonna like it."

-------------

What was that plan? Get as close to the prince as possible so that he'd entrust them with his wand. What they would do once they actually got it? Taehyung wasn't really sure. He hadn't thought that far ahead... All he knew was that Jungkook needed to like him. Better yet, fall in love with him.

Which was easier said than done, seeing as Jungkook was less than keen on striking up any sort of conversation. His love language was certainly physical touch and it showed. Even as they wandered the rose garden together, it was difficult to get him to open up.

"It's a lovely day, isn't it?" Said Taehyung, hoping to strike up a conversation.

"Indeed it is."

Silence...

"Could you tell me about yourself?"

"I'm the prince, I'm sure you already know enough about me."

More silence...

At this rate, they weren't going to get anywhere. It was frustrating, to say the least. Taehyung was never one for relationships. He had a small circle of friends and that was enough for him. Dating was usually out of the question given how quiet he often was and the only other person he had attempted to be intimate with recently was Jimin and that was months ago.

The concept of dating was an anomaly to him at times. He was good looking, no doubt about it but the issue came in approaching things. So he decided what he usually did in situations like this and thought it'd be best to be straightforward. "Why did you take both of us?"

"I thought it would make Prince Seokjin happy," Holy shit it actually worked. "It's clear he, for whatever reason, cares a great deal for you two. Not only that, but you have caught my eye."

"Really? How so?" Jungkook turned to face him, presenting Taehyung with the biggest are you kidding me face he ever received. His eyes roamed his body, examining every one of his striking features, from his gorgeous eyes to the size of his waist. Then he thought back to Jimin, big lips and the most perfect, round ass he had ever seen! They both were nothing short of alluring.

"Let's just say you both have great personality," Then left it at that. The comment was obviously meant to be flirtatious but it managed to fly over Taehyung's head as he beamed.

"That's so sweet!" Jungkook could only blink in bewilderment. Perhaps he would need to try a different tactic. Though, he did happen to notice a unique feature of Taehyung because of this - his smile. It was boxy, almost entirely square. Adorable.

Not that Jungkook said that out loud. He could flirt if he truly wanted to but for the most part, all he needed to do was ask and intercourse was a step away. Here, however, Taehyung didn't display too much interest in him sexually, or even romantically for that matter.

Jungkook examined the roses in his garden, taking in their pleasant fragrance with a blissful sigh. Carefully, he tugged at its stem, wary of the thorns and prepared to hand it to Taehyung. He examined the older man, the way he peered at the world around him, intrigue sounding through his gaze.

The brunette flinched when he saw Jungkook on one knee, presenting the flower to him in all its glory. "For you," Taehyung nearly snickered. It was Disney levels of cliche but he appreciated it nonetheless.

"Thank you, Prince Jungkook," He said, accepting the gift in his clutches. Seeing his token had been received positively, the prince smiled. It was cute. Just when Taehyung thought he would never meet anyone as dorky as himself, here was.

His mood, however, shifted when he remembered the task at hand. It was all a little disingenuous. "Do not look so down," Said Jungkook, standing to his feet and brushing the specks of dirt off of his trousers. "I hope you will not be left out if I present Jimin with a similar gift. Although, I assume he would appreciate something much grander."

Right, he wanted both of them. Taehyung was never the best at sharing, especially not when it came to his partners. Even though he and Jimin weren't what one would call a couple.

I'll ignore it for now...

Together, the pair made their way out to the courtyard, faced with Busan's knights. Their presence didn't go unnoticed by the army, who bowed the moment Prince Jungkook came into view. He raised his hand, instructing that they get back to training and the guards did just that.

Taehyung eyed them with amazement. They were so quick on their feet! It was almost like they were gliding on air. Jin had dragged him to a few fencing lessons and although he was nowhere near as good as these knights, he was able to do a few moves of his own.

Jungkook had taken note of the wonder in his expression, quirking his brow. "Have you never seen guards in training before?"

"Not really, no. It's not something I see very often. They're so cool! I wish I could do things like that..." Hearing this, the prince hummed. Taehyung was caught off guard when his hand was suddenly taken, body dragged along as Jungkook began to pull himself closer to the open grounds.

Jungkook requested two swords be brought to them, sharp and clean. Doing as instructed, the guard handed the young prince his weapon and then Taehyung. Yet as he received it, Tae didn't fail to notice the strange look that was sent his way by the knight. He seemed confused and even a little scared but was out of sight before an explanation was given.

The older flinched feeling someone come behind him. "Relax," Jungkook whispered, his smirk being visual in Taehyung's mind, even from in front of him. His arm was shifted, tuned to the prince's liking. "Keep your stance wide, keep your body lower, remember, balance is key in the art of the sword."

Moving a few feet ahead of him, Jungkook fixed his sword in Taehyung's direction. "I'll be gentle. Just keep your eyes on me."

With a steady gulp, Taehyung moved closer, his sword tapping against the younger's with a light clink. Jungkook raised his brow at how lacklustre this action was, snickering at it. "Why so hesitant? Strike and I'll block."

"Are you sure?"

"Positive." So doing his best not to falter, the brunette's sword lunged forward, easily blocked by the prince's. Sending him a nod, Jungkook told him to continue. Yet again, their swords clashed, much more violently this time, the prince stumbling a bit in surprise.

"There we are!" He exclaimed, grinning brightly. Seeing him smile made a grin of his own form on Taehyung's face. "How about this, think of something worth fighting for. Chanel that and attack me with all your might. Now, what do you see?"

For him, it wasn't all that hard to visualise. Even when he closed his eyes, there was only one face he saw, Jimin's... Cliche feelings aside, there was no one he would risk it all for more than his best friend, Taehyung was sure of it.

With his soulmate in mind, Taehyung struck his sword in Jungkook's direction once more, amplifying the strength behind each of his attacks. This time, the prince made more of an effort to fight back, an approach that Taehyung hadn't expected but did his best to respond appropriately to anyways.

So the battle continued. Fierce eye contact was maintained between the pair as their weapons cut through the air around them, sounds of metal clashing echoing through the courtyard. In Taehyung's mind, they were there for ages, with Jungkook barking commands and strategies every step of the way. By the end, the older was just about ready to pass out.

He found himself lying motionless on the ground, the tip of the prince's sword sitting at his neck while the brunette groaned in defeat. "You win..." He muttered, causing the royal to chuckle in glee.

"As I often do." The prince held his arm out, counting the seconds before a servant, appearing from nowhere, came to collect his weapon. "Stand. We have other matters to attend to." Yet the other male merely groaned in response, far too tied to conceive such an idea. This, realistically, made Jungkook grow quite agitated and he tapped his foot against Taehyung's thigh. "I said, stand."

"Tired." He muttered back. "Sit with me, yeah?" The prince scoffed and glanced around momentarily, his face scrunched at the idea.

"You can't be serious..."

"If I wasn't, I wouldn't be laying here now would I?" Of course, Jungkook was reluctant to engage in such foolishness but his consort continued to beg, tugging at his pant leg like a child begging for attention until he finally gave in. So with a sigh, the prince laid beside him on the pavement, arms crossed and baring a scowl. "Not that bad, now is it?"

"Quiet." His sour attitude only served to lighten Taehyung's as he smiled at Jungkook's constant resistance. While the prince was grumpy it was nice to know how easily swayed he was by just a smile. "I wanted to ask, what were you thinking about when we fought? Your spirits were lifted in a way I hadn't expected. There was passion in your eyes, a clear view of someone you wanted to protect. Who was it for?"

Had he really been that transparent? Taehyung didn't think much of his burst of energy but replied honestly. "Jimin..." he whispered, voice filled with the endearment for the older man and Jungkook certainly picked up on it."

"Do you love him?" The question was an odd one to the brunette and to him, had a simple answer. Yet there was something about the tone of the prince's voice that made him scowl. Was he only asking to challenge him? To attempt to steal his best friend away?

"Of course I love him. He's my best friend. If you think for a second that I'll let you take him-"

Once again, he was cut off (a staple of all of their conversations). "The last thing I want is competition from either of you. Though if it makes you this riled up, I may just institute some."

"What do you mean either of us? I thought you were only after-"

"Did I not say that I wanted both of you?" Muttered the prince, looking over at Taehyung as though he were stupid. "God, you're so busy talking that you don't open your ears to listen." The comment earned a frown from the older male who glanced off to the side. Despite the slight pang in his chest, Jungkook only rolled his eyes at the boy's new expression and stood to his feet. "Enough tomfoolery, let's get you cleaned up. You reek of sweat."

"How romantic..." Grumbled Taehyung once he had pulled himself off the ground.

He's a piece of work, that's for sure but not completely unbearable... I can get through this...
