My mind starts to wander what mum and Kimberly will say if they find out. So I decided to watch t.v. to ease my mind from what just happened. I then realise it's been a while since I talked to Serena. I call her five times but at doesn't pick. I give up and text her. "Call me, pls". And then I sleep off.
Next day....
I realise I slept off and I realise the California short break for schools are over and today is my first day of school. Shit. I rush upstairs and then Kim stops me. "I know you're still angry at me and Charlotte, I mean Serena means a lot to you so I am sorry. Please forgive me." "Fine, I forgive you." "Does that mean, we can go to school together in the same car?" "Yh, sure, you're my sis after all". She smiles and walks downstairs happily. I walk into my room and then Gabe calls me."Hey, you ready for today?", says Gabe. "You bet". And he cuts the phone.

SERENA'S P.O.V.
I wake up early because today I my first day in my school then I see a paper on the floor which is written by Rina and she tells me some of the people that she found out that are in my new school from my mum and Chris and Kim are part of them. Then she asks me what I want for breakfast and then I call her with my room phone and tell her that I want waffles, syrup, grapes and Apple juice and I ask her if I can cook with her in the evening and she agrees. I do the necessary stuff and I get ready. I wear a plain black sweatshirt and adidas juggers with a plain black PUMA shoe, because today is my first day. I arrange my room because I made a mess yesterday and then I find a chain that my dad gave me which was from his grandmother when he was born. I flashback to that day.
"I am sorry for everything you're going to face when you grow up. I love you, Serena and I want you to have this chain in remembrance of me." "But dad, why do you talk like this? You're not gonna leave and I promise you that". He sighs. And then I come back to reality. If only I knew that he would actually leave. And then I realise mum is in the room. "Oh, I can see you're looking at the chain." "Mum, how did dad die?, what really happened to him, was he really sick?, did anyone kill him, who..." And then she interrupts me and shouts. "Stop, please, just stop, no more talking about your dad in this house and I mean it". "But mum, why would you say that or wait, did you kill him?" "Shut up, Serene". And she slams the door. I decide from now to start wearing my chain. I pack my bag for school and I take my room and car keys and lock the room. I rush down to eat and I leave without replying a bye to my mum. I enter my car and I drive to school.
At school...
I arrive at my new school named Meadow High School(M.H.S) and the colour, royal blue and yellow and their mascot is peacock which I see first because he gives me a paper talking about the school and showing me the various activities, they have and a paper for me to sign them he winks at me and the mascot makes I obvious that he's a boy. I walk into the hall and then.... all eyes on me. And then I spot Chris, Kim, Kylie, another girl and two otber boys, I don't know but immediately Chris spots me, I see Jade and I walk up to meet her and then by the time, Chris gets to me, the bell rang and we walk to class. I check my timetable and I realise I have English which is a core subject meaning I will be seeing everyone. I decided to sit in the middle next to Jade because am too tall to sit in the front and I get distracted at the back. I finally switch on my phone and I see 15 messages from Chris. I decide not to reply. As class goes on, the teacher walks in and introduces herself. @ "Good day class, my name is Mrs. Jackson and I am your English teacher. I can see new faces so I would like you to introduce yourself starting from....you". She points at me. I feel a bit nervous but I fight it away. "Tell us your name, your age, summary about you, where you are from and where you transferred from." "Well, my name is Serena Porters, I am 16+, I am from Miami because of my dad and from New York because my mum but I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, so I am Brazilian and American. I would summarize myself as a happy person and an all-rounder. Thank you." And the whole class claps for me and my speech and then three other new students in troduce themselves to the class and the class clap again and again and again.
Few minutes later....
I leave for the next class but then my teacher calls me back to tell me that am an outstanding student and I should keep it up. I thank her and leave for the next class which Cosmetology, then Sports and the Sports teacher asks all the new students, including me the Sports I can do and I tell him all except cricket and he's suprised. "Well show me, Serena". Today's sport is basketball and he tells us to change into our basketball outfits which is provided by the school. The boys' outfits are blue short sleeve baggy shirt with each number on each player and baggy shorts. Chris's number is 7, while the girls' outfits are yellow shirt with each number on each player and tight shorts. My number is 5, Jade's number is 10, Kim's number is 12, while Kylie's number is 3. I wear it with my expensive and latest ankle-guard basketball shoes which are blue and black and are signed by Stephen Curry. My mum bought them while I was in Miami when she travelled. I wear my black pop socks which is right under my knee, my black head band and also my knee protector on both legs.I pack my hair into a ponytail. I pull my watch and keep it in my bag, lucky for me there is a clock in the basketball arena so I could check the time, anytime I want to. I go out and immediately the coach turns to me with suprise. "Wow". "Coach, are you suprised?" "A little because I have never seen a complete basketballer in a long time." "Well, you're about to see one" and then I walk up to Jade while the boys stare and I realise we are wearing almost the same thing, just that her shoes are black and pink and her knee protector is grey, not black and it's on one knee. Kim, Kylie and her other friend start to get jealous, little by little.
Coach blows the whistle and tells us to stay in a line. He tells us he never has problem with the boys, only the girls and some boys start to laugh. Chris is one of them. We start the shooting practice and Coach tells us it's three times. If we fail all three, we get benched which I am not suprised of because one thing I know is that the main aim of basketball is getting the net. Before it gets to my turn, two girls fail all three and the boys laugh the more, it finally gets to me and a boy I think his name is Gabe, Chris's friend shouts, hope you do better next time and they all laugh. I remove my mind from them and Coach blows the whistle for me to score the first one. I make my shot and it enters without any problem, the second shot goes, it enters, the third shot the same thing and everyone is suprised and I walk out and wink at Gabe.
