The houseboat was immense and beautiful, the houseboat was coloured in brunette, it had large doors and windows. The sun shone brightly on the houseboat, amplifying its beauty. We boarded the houseboat, there were deck chairs and tables on the deck, near the driving cabin, houseboat, and there were twelve rooms in the boat, and a galley. There were six rooms in each row, and the doors and windows opened at the opposite directions. Me and wife selected the last room to the left row; the galley was at the rear of the house boat. The driver's cabin was at the front, and the rooms of Jay, Ranjita, Surendran, and Khusboo were behind the driver's cabin, and they have easy access to the driver's cabin, without getting out of their rooms. The cabin had an engine room inside a cellar, where engines are installed.

Jay and Ranjita were at the left row, while Surendran and Khusboo were at the right. The houseboat had all the facilities, it had television in every room, it had medical kits, water-recycling facilities, mobile charging facilities, and a CCTV camera, which was at the front of the cabin. The driver's cabin had a computer, so that they can view the Google Maps. Jay and Surendran would drive the houseboat, as they have experience in this field, they were in this business for the last nine years.

We had carried enough provisions for our tour, and it was decided that it would be a one-week tour, we would be exploring more. Jay and Surendran started driving the boat, we roamed around the deck, Jay and Surendran kept the boat on auto-pilot mode, so the speed is regulated. The ladies decided to prepare the foods for the afternoon, we refreshed ourselves, first we rested over the deck chairs, enjoying the cool weather, under the dark sky of the morning. The ladies had prepared uthappam's, mackerel fried, mackerel gravy, mutton gravy and rice. We were getting ready for the lunch, the house boat halted at the banks. We refreshed ourselves, and getting ready for the lunch. We were having our lunch under the open sky, as there were enough chairs and tables, to the right of the driver's cabin. I gobbled down the dishes, which was scrumptious, and I knew that my wife had prepared uthappam's and mackerels. Everyone praised the ladies, and of course, I praised everyone, and especially my wife, and she gave me a demurring smile. I checked my mobile phone, I got few messages from the society's bank accounts, indicating the bank balance. I clicked some photos on mobile phone, later, I thought to grab my camera, however, my wife had the camera and she was clicking the photos, also Jamuna, and Jagat too had cameras, and they too started clicking photos on their cameras, and other too joined us. I was roaming around the deck, inhaling fresh air. The house boat leaping like a spirited horse on the water. The water was making shouting sound, making whirlpools, tearing at the sandy banks. The forest was beautiful, and I saw few houses, Surendran had informed us that, there are many villages near this river, and there are many picnic spots here. The nature was awe-inspiring.

The sun spins its giant wheels, throwing spectrum of lights, the birds were fluttering in the spectrum of lights, the chirping of birds crammed the very air. I was thrilled looking at the beautiful nature, while I was on the deck chair, glaring at the sky, and my eyes covered with shades. We conducted our evening prayers, and the house boat halted near the banks of river, signalling the end of journey for tonight. At night, the decks were flooded with lights, as the darkness began to invade. At dinner, we had chapatis, mackerel gravy, mutton gravy, and rice. I wolfed the dishes, I am a foodie, and I would say, I live to eat. After dinner, we did the dishes, and then, we strolled on the deck, as the cool breeze began to blow. We were chinwagging in the air, and after a while, we decided to wrap up. I looked at my watch, it was fifteen minutes past ten, and we decided to sleep. Jay, Ranjita, Surendran, and Khusboo were familiar with this area, as their houseboats roam here, and they have fixed routes. However, our plan was to go beyond fixed routes. They know the route, but been there twice and during daytime. As we were about to head to our rooms, the roofs began to make tapping sound, and the dark skies were pouring, we scuttled our way to our rooms. We wished good night to each other. Me and my wife refreshed, and pulling over fresh clothes. I was reading books, as well as writing my dairy, meanwhile, my wife to hit the sack. As I was reading, I hear the gently tapping of rains all over the deck, and it soothed me. Later, I opened the window, watching the rains, the deck lights were off, and peals of thunder lightened the night sky often. Then the rain stopped, and there was silence for a while, which was later interrupted by the trilling of the night creatures. I closed the window, and sat reading, under the dim light. Later, I went for sleep, and I slept peacefully, as I could hear the sounds of the night creatures trilling, also the rains would come, and the winds make the windows quiver slightly.

The night went peacefully.

The next morning, the boat commenced its journey, and every night we use to halt, at the secluded place, however, there were no untoward incident, as Jay, Ranjita, Surendran, and Khusboo were well versed with the geography of the place. Every night we use to halt at the secluded places, and, some of the places seemed horrified, it seemed like those places were haunted. The heavy rains during night, and the howling of winds, and night creatures made the place haunted, but it was not. We enjoyed our days and nights of travelling, and now we have spent five days, and four nights in travelling, eating, drinking, and sleeping. I remembered, we had good food for lunch and dinner, and mostly it consisted of sea foods like prawns, seer fish, deep bodied sardinella, silver barfish, golden anchovies, sardines, mackerels, and many more. We also had sandwiches, patties, vegan and non-veg, samosa, South-Indian dishes, and many more. We have decided to extend our travelling plans. We had enough provisions, but the plan was to purchase more provisions for our travel.

We did not know that, the coming nights of this trip would be horrible.
