Jin || allergic reaction
Ya'll. 50k? I-
That's crazy man. Who told you you could do that?
Also, sorry it took so long lol. And it's short- yikes.
~
Today was December 4th. It had just struck midnight, and the eldest member of the band was excited to see the fans. He hadn't done an EatJin in a long time, and there were so many foods he wanted to try on his little 'show'. Also, to make him more excited, a new restaurant had opened up in a small part of Seoul. It was a small business, so Jin was ready to support it.
He hoped that he enjoyed the food, otherwise it would be hard to promote it to armies. Jin was very out there when it came to showing his likes and dislikes for food. When he didn't like it, he was bound to spit it out. When he enjoyed it, he hummed to himself.
Positioning the camera correctly, he heard a slight creek at the door. "Who is here? It's midnight, go to bed." He scolded the unknown figure. He was also hoping it wasn't a manager or a janitor, that would be both disrespectful and embarrassing.
The boy at the door skipped happily to his hyung, his bare feet barely making noise as he came. The red ribbon tied around his face made Jin smile. The blonde was smiling widely, and looked confusingly excited to celebrate a birthday that wasn't his own.
"Are you live? I just wanted to stop by." The mochi said. "I brought you a present!"
Jin couldn't help but coo. "Oh my gosh.." Jin thought Jimin was the sweetest thing ever. Jimin had brought himself as the present. Being honest, Jin didn't know what to think. Had Jimin actually forgotten and then pretended to be all sweet about it? Was this Jimin's plan all along? Who knows, but, it was sweet. "Jimin-ah, my goodness. Lemme start the live so they can see this." He pressed begin, giving it a couple seconds so more and more armies could join.
"Guys, Jimin came in to surprise me, and he brought me this." He dragged Jimin by the hair, to which the younger responded with grunts of pain. "It's kind of annoying, but it'll do. Until I can sell it and make a large profit." He chuckled.
"Hyung! If you're going to be mean about it I could just take your food." He argued back. "Or I could just not give you the actual present I had for you...."
"Wait! No! Don't take my food, I got it from a new shop across town." He showed armies the labeling on the bag. "Sweet Waters Sushi. I'm sure it'll taste wonderful. You guys should try some, they have all different types of seafood and even a buffet! How could you resist a buffet?"
"Can I have a bite?"
"Sure, you just can't steal it."
And so Jin and Jimin sat down, eating the plate of sushi. At first, Jimin was a bit shy with the sushi, but soon enough, he was eating like no tomorrow. Talking throughout, Jin made sure to entertain the armies while they ate.
The comment section was filled with many happy birthday messages and kind messages. Jin was happy. Jimin was enjoying his hyung's company, and loved the bonus time with his eldest hyung. "Will I be your favorite younger brother after this?"
"No."
"Hyung!" He whined. "Whatever, I give up on trying to please you anyways. It's too hard, so picky." He joked. "Anyways, I bought you a real present!" Skipping out the room, Jimin smiled to himself. He really hope his hyung would enjoy the gift; he'd spent almost two hours in the shop trying to pick out just the right combination of things.
"Has anyone listened to the album we dropped last month? I hope so." Jin tried to have a normal conversation with the fans. "It had a different impact on all of us. Releasing an album in the middle of a pandemic, it was different, that's for sure. The concepts relate to it actually, I'm proud of us." He took another sushi roll and ate it.
"You'know, I never thought it would come this far. It's a great reflection topic, actually. I wonder if we've hit our peak." He pauses, looking at the comments, "When will you guys disband?" He reads. "Honestly, our contract ends in 2026. But I'm really not sure, I'd rather not think about that right now. When the time is right it'll happen." That was always a touchy subject for the members.
"How old are you now, jin?" He laughs, acting offended. "Don't ask, you fools." Taking a sip of the water he had, he reads another comment, "Marry me oppa!" Staring at the camera, "no thanks."
"Hyung!" Jimin's voice echos throughout the room. "I'm back!" He's holding a basket filled with different self care items, like bath bombs and lotions, creams and perfumes. "I spent so long trying to pick the best perfume scent, I hope you like it."
"I love it Jimin." Jin gets up to give Jimin a hug. "Thank you." He digs into the basket, finding a product he can try on camera. "Do you think the company cares if I show labels?"
"Probably not."
"Lavender." He sprays it on his wrist. "Oooo! Smells nice." The scent makes him freeze for a second. It isn't bad, no, not at all. It just bothered his sinuses.
"Oh it's strong!"
"Is it bad? I can take it back!"
"No, no! I love it jiminie, thank you." He can feel his throat starting to close up. What the heck? "No need to take it back." He chokes out. He lets out a light cough. "I'm just not used to it."
After going through all the items in the basket, and eating some more food, Jimin leaves the room. Jin's head is starting to hurt. He's starting to get dizzy. He's hoping he's not coming down with something, after all it is his birthday.
"Are you feeling okay, jin? You look sick." Jin sighs, the screen is hurting his eyes. "Really? I'm okay guys, I promise." A flash of light takes over his vision, but it only lasts a couple of seconds.
"Are you sure?" He chuckles. "You guys are so funny, yes, I'm fine." His head hurts really bad. He's resisting the urge to lay his head down on the table and end the live. Close his eyes for a bit and sleep, he doesn't know what's caused this sudden change in health, but he doesn't like it.
He feels lightheaded. He's sure he's swaying on the screen. He read a comment ten seconds ago and already forgot what it said. Was it a question? His breaths are shaky. His inhales aren't enough to sustain high oxygen levels, his exhales make him feel trapped.
Namjoon watches the live from his room. Why Jin decided to do one so early: he didn't know. Namjoon was up because he was waiting for corrections on his scheduling. He swore he would not rest until the schedule had been improved, and sent off to the manager, yet again.
He watches as his hyung sways from side to side on the video. He watches his face turn that familiar pale color. They've all passed out before, they know the signs. Jin's going to pass out.
He gets up, and runs to Jin's studio. The older normally would have done the live in a different room, a lounge room perhaps, but he wanted a change.
Jin can hear Namjoon's feet stomping down the hallway, but he doesn't have the energy to tell him to be quiet. He could feel his throat closing up on him. His arms were beginning to itch, his throat burned, his head pounded. He couldn't bring himself to end the live.
It hurt.
"Hyung!" Namjoon came running into the room, stopped the live, and went to Jin's side. He tried patting his back, but it didn't look like he was choking. Jin was struggling for air. The younger tried to ask Jin what was wrong, of course, he didn't remember that he wouldn't respond, but he tried anyways. "Do I call an ambulance?" He had answered that question himself.
"Hi um- my friend he-I don't know what happening but he's not breathing."
"Ok sir, how old is your friend?"
"Twenty... twenty nine." It had just turned midnight, he had just turned 29. "I don't know what's happening! I can't find a pulse!"
"Ok sir, what is your name?"
"Kim Namjoon!"
"Alright. Can you sit him up for me?" Namjoon did so, relaying the information back. "An ambulance is on the way, okay? Would you like to stay on the line with me?" Namjoon sobbed into the phone. "I'll stay on with you, okay?"
In just three minutes the ambulance had entered the building. Completely disregarding Namjoon, they began CPR. The young leader watched as they pressed deep into his chest, and blew into his mouth. "Get the AED."
Namjoon didn't know what to do. He watched as they quickly toweled down his chest, wiping away all the sweat. They stuck three pads onto him. "Clear!" An EMT ripped Namjoon away from Jin. He let himself be dragged.
Namjoon shook as he saw Jin's body jump into the air a little, and his face gain a little color. How lucky they were to get it on the first go. He watched as they gave him an oxygen mask, and didn't waste anytime checking airways and O2 levels. They loaded him onto a stretcher and headed to the hospital. Namjoon couldn't watch any longer.
Jin had died twice on the drive to the hospital. His O2 levels kept rising and falling, and to be honest, Namjoon never got any confirmation that his hyung would be okay. And maybe it was for the best, but Namjoon was the only one who knew what was going on.
At some point Epinephrine was given to slow down the reaction. Instead of the classical pen, it was injected through a vein in his hand. He was given water through another IV in his antecubital fossa. Jin was pale, and looked sickly.
Namjoon had been allowed in the room once. And then he was forced out when Jin had began having breathing problems again. He hadn't waken up since.
During the wait to see his hyung again, he checked social media. He knew he shouldn't have, but he was curious. No one knew what had really happened with the eldest of the band, but get well soon tags were already trending. Namjoon was speechless.
Their manager was sure to have seen this already, even if it was barely two in the morning.
Namjoon needed to call Yoongi. Sure, it was early, but the older was sure to be awake. It was comeback season, everyone was hard at work. Sleep was a forgein word at that point.

Jin woke up alone. It was dark, yet he could still hear monitors. His arms ached, his back ached, and his throat burned. The uncomfortableness of the tube stuck down his throat gave him the urge to cough. He didn't know what time it was.
He stayed there, staring at the ceiling for hours. Until finally, his mind gave up, and he fell back asleep.
Yoongi had came to the hospital as soon as the sun rose. He wanted to be there as soon as visiting hours opened up again. Namjoon had went back home to get some much needed rest, as Yoongi told him. Their manager had checked in on Jin the previous night.
"Hyung, I know you did this to see my vulnerable side." Yoongi told him. "That was rude." He chuckled. "The doctors ran some tests, they figured out you're allergic to artificial lavender scents. Like- severely. I thought that was crazy. You died on us, hyung. What the actual heck."
And believe it or not, Jin was awake. (wide awake wide awake wide awake don't cry~)
"Yoongi-yah," Jin's voice was raspy, and it hurt-so bad- to speak.
"Jin-hyung, don't speak."

Jimin was honestly shocked. He kept his distance from the older. He hoped that Jin wasn't mad at him. Jimin had went to the self care shop again, and returned the perfume. Instead, he got him a gift card, and an apology note. He left the items on Jin's night stand for the day he returned from the hospital.
And when he did return, his smile was he biggest it had ever been. The card was handwritten, and really showed how much the third maknae loved and cared for him. And maybe afterwards the dancer closed himself up for a few days after, but they could work out their relationship in the future.
It would be good as new.
