Lots of Talking

Sakura face planted into her bed.

"Ahhh~~" She sighed, "I'm so glad my bed is here."

Tenten entered the room right after Sakura.

"SAME," she agreed, "There's nothing better than my bed." But her mind quickly flashed to cuddling with Deidara and she corrected her statement, "I mean, there's nearly nothing better than my bed."

The two just stayed collapsed on the beds without moving. Outside their room, someone shouted, "Hey, Sasori, come back! We gotta check on our students! C'mon!"

"I'm coming."

Deidara busted the door down, "Hey Tenten! How were your last two weeks?" He yelled.

Tenten suddenly had a burst of energy, "DEIDARA! I'm so happy to see you again!" She jumped out of bed to go hug Deidara, but she'd hurt her foot on the last day of training with Itachi, so she stumbled and groaned in pain.

"Ahh shit. Fuckfuckfuck." Tenten cursed.

Deidara was instantly by her side, "Tenten? Are you okay? Let me help you up." He helped Tenten up and sat her down on her bed. He checked the injury over. He looked up to Tenten, realized what he was doing and stood up abruptly. "Yeah should be fine, un." He looked away from Tenten. "Hey, Sakura, you're a medic, right? Fix her. Even though she'll be totally fine."

Tenten just looked at Deidara. He had seemed so sweet and caring but now he was a completely different, distant person. Like the person he had been before that week of training.

Dammit, Deidei, I wanted to be happy after this long ass week and you don't remember me anymore?

...

Well, what did I expect from the Akatsuki. Just like Itachi-sensei said, the Akatsuki are not cut out for love and neither are shinobi.

...

I still wanna spend time with Deidei though... Um. As a test, of course. To squash my feelings. Yeah. Tenten thought to herself, then asked Deidara, "Hey, can we check over my jutsus later? I'm worried that I'm forgetting my Explosion Style."

"Hmph, just after two weeks and you think you forget it? Do you understand the true meaning of art?" Deidara looked annoyed, then became stone-faced again, "Sure, I'll help you again with the style, un."

"Thanks!" Tenten smiled wide. Deidara glanced at her smiling face for a second, then left.

Sakura stared at Tenten. "Tenten? Are you okay? Did you hit your head?"

"No, what's wrong?" Tenten asked, still smiling even though she was trying not to.

Sakura hesitated, "I've never seen you look at someone like that?"

"...oh." Tenten said. "Don't worry about it, that's just me admiring Deidara's skills."

"You didn't look at Tsunade like that either." Sakura started catching on and smiling. Even if they were Akatsuki stone-hearted ninja, they still had feelings.

"Well that's because Tsunade isn't Deidara. And Deidara is- Um, Deidara has Explosion Style and he's... um, he's my sensei and Tsunade was never my sensei and Deidara is so cu- I mean he's really nice to me... uh... yeah." Tenten stumbled her ways past the words, trying not to concentrate on how cute Deidara was for her.

"Let me guess? You have a massive crush on him?"

"N-no. Absolutely not. Like I would have a crush on a fucking adorab- fucking idiot like him."

"You're acting a bit like Hinata," Sakura teased Tenten. So Tenten was still just a normal girl like her. Sakura wasn't really scared of Tenten anymore. She crawled over and started healing Tenten's leg.

"I-i'm NOT acting like Hinata! I don't have a crush on him! The Akatsuki isn't made for love and nobody is here searching for love eithe-" Tenten began to protest, but Sasori came in at that moment. He had heard Tenten talking about Deidara.

With a cool stare, he stated, "That's right. No love for the criminals that the Akatsuki are. So shut up about Deidara and stop having a stupid teenage crush on him."

He turned towards Sakura, "I'm meant to check in on you. Everything alright?"

Tenten's face fell as she realized that Deidara had been ordered to check up on her. Sakura, on the other hand, smiled, "Yep! By the way, can you teach me about puppets? I have pretty good chakra control, I was thinking that'd be pretty good?"

"Alright." Sasori turned and closed the door behind him. But rather than just leaving, his red-head puppet sat down in front of the door and contemplated Tenten. Sure, the Akatsuki wasn't made for love, and love was poisonous and toxic, but wasn't it Tenten's life? If she wanted a broken heart, she could have it. He remembered how crestfallen Tenten had been that Sasori had been ordered to check up on Sakura. He presumed that she thought Deidara had been ordered, too, but no, it had been his idea.

He knocked on the door again.

Slowly, it creaked open. Tenten. Crying eyes, wiping them away. "What do you want?" She asked Sasori.

Sasori fell silent. He couldn't say it.

"Well?" She repeated, impatient.

That bugged Sasori. "It was Deidara's idea to check up on you. But don't presume that that was because of love." Sasori spat out abruptly. Quickly, he shuffled away.

Tenten stayed in shock for a while, then returned to Sakura, her tears drying up.

"At least he doesn't hate me, right?" She smiled weakly.

"You're really lovesick, you know that? Why do you care so much? I've never seen you so in love before."

"I don't know." Tenten looked to the side, uncomfortable. "So, what did you learn this week? With Zetsu?"

"Oh, I think we should save it for the fight tomorrow, shouldn't we?"

"There's going to be a fight between us again??"

"I thought they would. It's a source of entertainment for the sick fuckers, isn't it?" Sakura pointed out.

"Well yeah. But I don't fucking know, I don't want to fight you." Tenten shifted uncomfortably.

"Because of last time?"

"Yeah," Tenten admitted.

"Don't worry about it." There was a short pause, then Sakura asked, "Did anything happen that wasn't really training-related?"

"Yeah, Itachi-sensei and I went to Konoha. I saw Gai-sensei and Lee, and hung out with Hinata and Ino! We can go meet them together, if you want." Tenten grinned.

"Oh my Jashin, we can meet them? When? Where?" Sakura said excitedly.

Tenten smiled even wider, "In a week, we can just leave our Akatsuki stuff here at the hideout and go to Konoha. They don't really mind that we're gone, of course."

"Yes! Let's go! I can't wait to see Ino-pig and Hinata again!" Sakura's eyes lit up.

Then Tenten's expression went dark, "You better not tell them about my crush at all. If you do, I swear to fucking Jashin, I will sacrifice you to him. And don't tell them about the Akatsuki and stuff too, of course. We still have to check in with Lady Konan, though."

"I hear my name...?" Konan knocked on the door. "What's this about a crush?"

"Oh!" Sakura said, standing up, "Lady Konan! Why are you here?"

"Just checking in on you two. It's a difficult life with the Akatsuki, isn't it?" Konan said.

Tenten awkwardly half-sat half-stood, "Yeah, the training's really difficult."

Konan sat down on the floor, "But I heard about a crush?"

Sakura couldn't help but to smile. "I guess we just can't help being curious about crushes, huh?"

"Well, it is a crush in the Akatsuki. It's almost unheard of. Are you two settling in? It has been a couple weeks. And, I wanted to tell you two who your next senseis are. This week is a messy one."

The two girls nodded, and continued to listen to Konan.

"There will be no fight tomorrow. We're going straight back to training. You'll have senseis for the first six days, but you two can take the last day off because all Akatsuki have missions. The two days after the last day are also all yours. Just so you know." Konan paused, then continued, "Your new senseis are Tobi and Kisame. Kakuzu will not be training you at all, neither will I."

"Who will be teaching who?" Sakura asked.

"Tobi will be teaching you, Sakura, and Kisame will be teaching Tenten."

Both girls nodded. It would be a busy week.

Konan got up off of the floor, "It was nice talking to you girls. I remember when I was your age..." She shook her head, "Anyway, good night."

"Goodnight, Lady Konan," the two chorused. Konan left.

Sakura collapsed into her bed. Tenten found a pillow and hugged it, then lay down in bed with the pillow. They switched the light off.

"Sakura?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you think I'm silly to have a crush on Deidara?"

"...Well, you can't really help who you like. It's just kind of stupid considering that we're Akatsuki, nations are hunting us down, he might kill you, and all that." Sakura said.

"..."

"..."

"So I am stupid?"

"Love is blind."

"...thanks, Saku. I don't know what I'd do without you."

"I don't know what I'd do without you either, it's been an eventful few weeks, hasn't it?"

"Yeah."

"..."

"..."

"Goodnight, Tenten."

"Night, Sakura."
