Deidei and Tenten

"HI DEIDARA-SENSEI~~!" Tenten yelled, running to hug Deidara. "How are you?!"

Deidara looked up, to see Tenten flying in the sky on a clay bird. He grinned, "Hi Tenten-chan~"! Then he caught himself, quit grinning. "How are you?"

Tenten hadn't noticed Deidara's first smile, pouted as she saw Deidara's grim face. "What?" She asked, "Unhappy to see me?"

Deidara's first instinct was to comfort her, but he stopped the emotion. "No. Just don't wanna work. You're here for me to pick you up, right? And go to Suna?"

"Yes." Tenten said, disappointed. "You don't have to come though, it seems like you don't want t-"

"Ugh, fiiiiine, I'll come, un." Deidara rolled his eyes. "Not fair, just so you know. You owe me one, got it?"

Deidara hopped onto Tenten's bird, pushing Kisame off. "Hope you get well, Fishboy."

The two of them flew off. It was approximately midday when they arrived in sweltering Sunagakure. They flew over the city. The break in between the walls of Suna had a small group of people walking in there. There were two.

"There. That's Kankuro, and he's accompanied by his sister, Temari." Deidara said.

"Hey!" Tenten exclaimed, "You remember the names?"

"I may have looked at your case the other day. I was bored." Deidara looked to the side. "Anyways, un, we'll have to swoop down and plant the mines before they exit. Then we fly up again. You take Temari, I'll grab Kankuro. And don't forget to make a genjutsu to look different. Yeah?"

"Okay." Tenten whispered.

"You don't have to whisper." Deidara laughed. Tenten laughed at herself as well. "Whoops, sorry!" She told Deidara.

The two swooped down, planted a ton of bombs, and then swooped up again. The two snickered. A few seconds later, Temari and Kankuro stood outside of Suna's walls, the wind blowing their clothes away.

"To Konoha, right?" Temari asked Kankuro.

"Yeah." He replied. "I wonder how Naruto's holdin' up. Will he be in the village? He's on a training journey, right?"

"Ye-"

Tenten and Deidara plummeted downwards. Tenten jumped off the bird, behind Temari, holding a kunai to her neck. She never even had a chance.

"Hey, Temari-chan. We're the Akatsuki. Please don't try to do anything, okay~? We only want Kankuro." Tenten hissed at Temari.

Fuck. Temari thought. How do I get out?

"Shut the fuck up, and chill. Deidei-kun has more skill than your brother~" Tenten giggled. She thought that Temari had no chance of recognizing her.

"No, I'm NOT letting Kankuro go. I can't, he's my brother." Temari hissed. "Also... do I recognize that voice?"

"You recognize Akatsuki voices?"

"Hardly. But I could swear- and the Akatsuki doesn't have girls?!"

"We do."

In the meantime, Deidara drop-kicked Kankuro.

"Owww!" Kankuro yelled. "Who are you?!"

"I'm Deidara. From the Akatsuki. You know me, don't you, un? KATSU!" A mine exploded right underneath Kankuro.

"Ha! You thought a mine could take me out?" Kankuro grinned. Karasu had protected him from the blast.

Deidara grinned in return. "Katsu." Yet another one exploded. Karasu was Kankuro's first choice of puppet, so Karasu protected him yet again as he jumped back.

This happened thrice more, until Karasu broke.

"Ahh. No." Kankuro said. He sat on top of his broken puppet's corpse. At least there weren't any mines, that was for sure. "How could you?!!" Kankuro screamed in blind rage.

Kuroari and Sanshouo came out, Kankuro's two other 'friends'.

"I'll defeat you!" The two puppets flew out at Deidara.

Deidara managed to fend one of them off, but accidentally forgot about the other. His bird flew to save him. But Kankuro's expert puppeteering skills made the puppet fly back at him again, and this time, Deidara didn't have his bird. He got hit. The second puppet flew back for yet another time, hopefully (for Kankuro) to incapacitate him.

Tenten knew that it would seriously injure Deidara-sensei.

"Fuck." She breathed out. She grabbed her scythe, nipped Temari in the neck, and then crossed scythe against Kankuro's Sanshouo.

She absolutely destroyed the puppet. Blind with rage, she kicked, screamed,  scythe-d, completely demolished it.

Then she turned back, accidentally facing Deidara, Kankuro, and Temari, just as Deidara had finished with Kankuro's puppet. Deidara turned to face Tenten.

"Your genjutsu!" Deidara cried out. "Fix it!"

It was too late. Maybe, just maybe Tenten was far away enough to not be perfectly seen?

"Tenten?!" Temari gasped.

Tenten looked uncomfortable for a second, then genjutsu'd back into a new face. "Umm... No?"

Deidara exploded another mine under Kankuro. Tenten shunshinned back behind Temari.

"Who's Tenten?" Tenten asked. "I'm, un, Masako."

"Damn, how'd you trap me again?" Temari struggled.

"My little secret." As in, praying to Jashin real quick.

She looked over to Deidara. He'd captured Kankuro.

"Ahhh..." A successful sigh escaped Tenten's lips. She knocked Temari over the head, letting her sleep in peace for a second. Then she had her hand-mouths eat some clay from her pocket and made a new clay bird.

"Deidei-kun~" Temari mumbled as Tenten left. "Why's he called Deidei-kun?"

"What was that?!" Deidara asked, surprised. "What's with the Deidei-kun?!"

"UHHHHH... NOTHING!" Tenten blushed, then pushed 'Deidei-kun' onto the bird. "Let's go home! I told Ino-chan and Hinata-chan that I'd meet them on the weekend so I need some sleep!"

For a second, Deidara's dirty-minded side came out: "No sleep, huh? That's what-"

"Hmm? Sorry I wasn't listening!" Tenten said. "What was that?"

"Nothing."

"Okay. Do you think Temari-chan recognized me?" Tenten asked, as they began to fly home.

"No... I think you're good. I doubt it..." Deidara hesitated.

"If she knows- m-my friendship with her might be gone forever! I can't take that!" Tenten began not breathing well, eyes tearing up.

"Y-you're not gonna cry, right?" Deidara asked, worried. Ever so slightly worried.

"No. Shinobi don't cry." Tenten said, tears dripping down her face.

Deidara softened. But he pulled himself together. "Good. Shinobi don't have feelings. They don't experience sadness, anger, hatred, happiness... love."

"I know." Tenten said, clearing her tears. "I'm fine."

Crying made her feel tired, and again she fell asleep on that cold-hearted bastard, Deidei-kun. So Deidara held to her as they got to the hideout. He prepared anything Tenten might need to meet friends, locked Kankuro up while the guy who wanted him was arriving, he reported to Pein-sama, he even packed her extra clay.

Aww~

In the meantime, Sakura and Tobi were done practicing.

Tobi had pushed Sakura further than ever before.

Remember her purple-eye state?

She was back in there. That state.

Tobi laughed. "Sakura~ It seems you've finally, finally, finally, FINALLY ascended."

"Ascended?"

"You're finally evil. Good. Now let me fill you in to my plan!" Tobi flailed around, excited. Then he turned serious again. He began to explain his plan.

After his speech (which, for the record, he'd practiced many times in front of the mirror) he turned to Sakura and asked, "So, whaddya think? All good?"

"Yep, sounds good to me. Will I be able to help with that?"

"Yes. Any other questions?"

"Nope."

"Okay good I was worried the speech wasn't good enough. I haven't had the chance for any proofreading, you know? You were good in school, right? Any grammar mistakes?"

"Nope. I think it's all good! Congrats on the cool speech, Tobi." Sakura smiled.

Tobi eye-smiled.

"Huh, like Kakashi-sense-" Sakura began. Tobi slapped his gloved hand over Sakura's mouth. "NO Kakashi talk."

"Right, sorry, forgot~!"

"So." Tobi said. "The mission."

"Yep. Planting a spy-spider in Iwagakure. Will you teleport us there?"

"Hell no." Tobi said. "Your dark blue-"

"They're purple."

"Purple eyes seem to have strange qualities. I wanna see how far your teleportation range is, now."

"Ugh. Okay. Here goes!" Sakura attempted the spell. To Iwagakure. Iwa. Iwa. Iwa.

Not Iwa.

But close enough.

"Well done. That's close enough. We can walk from here. You got the Spyder?"

"Yep."

The two walked in and released the bug. Then Tobi teleported them back to the hideout.

Sakura felt so powerful. If there were any time to fight, Sakura could win this one.

She walked back to the room where Tenten and her were rooming.

"Heeeeeeeeellooooooo Tenten!" Sakura yelled, twirling into the room. "What's up!" Then she noticed Tenten was asleep, tucked in, stuff packed, sleeping.

"Oh.." She whispered.

Tenten woke up. "Oh hey Sakura-chan! How're you? Still up for meeting Ino-chan and Hinata-chan?"

"Yes! Absolutely!"

"You're in a good mood, un. What's up?" Tenten asked, still sleepy.

"Oh, nothin' much! Just some good training! I'm all good. I'm guessing you are, too?"

"Yeah... still tired. Let's talk while we leave to Konoha, okay?"

"Yeah, okay~!"

///

Early in the morning, the two kunoichi left the hideout. Deidara accompanied them. It was approximately 7:30 a.m. once they left, and they met up at 10 a.m.. Deidara, of course, had a disguise. They had all ditched their Akatsuki clothing (and various Akatsuki/Jashinist weapons), in favor of a painless meetup.

                                                               Deidara's genjutsu

Something like that ^

FOREHEAD!" Ino shrieked, "HI!! IT'S BEEN AGESSSSSSSS!"

"Ino-pig!" Sakura smiled, "How've you been??"

"I'm so glad you guys are finally back!" Hinata said, not stumbling over her words.

"HEY GUESS WHO'S BACK WE ARE HOW HAVE YOU BEEN?!" Tenten yelled, a grin as wide as the whole entire world on her face. The four of them had one massive group hug. They jostled around, suggested Ichiraku's as a place to eat, and then Tenten introduced Deidara.

Not as Deidara himself, of course. He looked similar, with blonde hair and innocent features, but his hair was short, a darker blonde, and had darker blue eyes. It looked surprisingly similar but different at the same time. He looked real cute.

"So, guys," Tenten began. She smiled at Deidara, "This is Deidei, he's a guy I met on the journeys I've made. We're friends of sorts, he's taught me a lot. Please welcome him in!"

Silently, Deidara thought, Deidei?! Why's she calling me Deidei?! God, that's embarrassing. At least nobody'll know it's me though... ugh.

Outwardly, Deidara exclaimed, "Yep, that's me. Sorry I crashed your girls' meetup!"

Hinata stumbled over her words cutely, "H-hi Deidei-san! I'm happy to meet you."

Ino said, "Hey Deidei. Nice to meetcha."

Sakura just smiled suspiciously at the two, Tenten and 'Deidei'. The five walked to Ichiraku's.

"Deidei-san, you're not going to believe how GOOD Ichiraku's tastes! It's one of The Best ramen shops out there. Nobody has ever disliked the food. Ever. And anyone who does will be thrown into PRISON, by me, Ino. I will not allow such disrespect on Ichiraku's turf. Which is Konoha, by the way. Tenten was here last time as well. It was very disappointed. NOT the food. I meant Tenten. She would NOT tell us her crush! It was beyond annoying. No matter how hard we tried. The thing is, now that Sakura's here, she'll spill the beans, right, Forehead? Good. 'Cause it feels like ages since y'all were here. Tenten didn't even tell us anything about what you've been doing!" Ino blabbered on and on.

Then, a couple seconds late, Deidara asked, "Wait, Tenten has a crush?! On whoooo??"

Ino sighed, "Dude. You've literally traveled with her. How have you not made her spill it yet?"

"In my defense, I had no idea she had a crush!" Deidara said. "Well, who is it, then?"

"Beats me." Ino said. "Last time she even got mad, and this Kiba-lookin' guy suddenly shunshinned them away. It was literally, like, an half an hour meet up. We learned precisely zero. But hey, now we have Forehead and Tenten-chan here for the whole day!" Ino chattered excitedly. "So after Ichiraku's, let's go to my place for some girl talk, if y'all know what I mean!"

Tenten's face fell for a second, then she recovered. "Where would Deidei go?"

A pause.

"He could leave, right?" Ino bluntly, and awkwardly asked. "Plenty to explore in Konoha. Have you been here before?"

"Yeah, I've been here...It's fine, I'll leave you to your girl talk. I can go sightseeing." Deidara smiled. Ino smiled along with him.

"Perfect," she said, as the ramen was served. They all ate quickly. Deidara complimented the food, and Teuchi smiled and yelled thanks. It was all in all a very pleasant affair. Nobody knew that three of the six individuals was actually Akatsuki and being hunted down.

Then they split off, the four girls leaving to Ino's house, and Deidara asking Teuchi were to go sightseeing.

Once at the house, Ino turned off all the lights. She grabbed a flashlight. "Ooooooh~ Tenten~ It's ghosts coming to get you! You have to tell us your crush before they get to us!"

Tenten stared in defeat. "Oh no! The ghosts. What shall I do? I guess I just have to leave my friends to despair for an unknowable secret!"

Ino rolled her eyes and turned the light back on, hopping into bed. "At the very least, give us a hint."

"I DID. Last time. I think." Tenten protested.

"Well then fine, Sakura, tell us her crush!"

Sakura shook her head. "Sorry, Ino-pig, if I told you you might have us locked up in jail!" She laughed as though it were a joke. "I can, however, give you an idea. He's from Iwa."

Tenten fake laughed nervously. "Don't be silly, Sakura, he's not. Do you have the wrong idea about who he is?"

"What?" Sakura asked, confused.

"Come with me outside, let me tell you again." Tenten asked.

Sakura nodded. The two went outside into the hallway. There was no way that Hinata and Ino weren't spying on them, so Tenten wrote it down on a notepad.

I told them that they knew who my crush was (as in, would recognize the name). They're currently expecting famous lord or king or prince, or maybe a famous singer. If they know it's Iwa, it's not like there's that many choices for who it could be. Deidei's famous AF, even if it is for all the wrong reasons.

"Oh." Sakura said, then scribbled something herself: So, where do I say he's from?

Say he's from, uh... Just say you don't remember his nationality, but it had an A in its name. That's very broad.

Ok. Got it. Sorry.

Np.

"Ohh, I remember now!" Sakura exclaimed loudly. They walked back in.

///

A shinobi was dispatched from the Hokage's office.

"Listen to me." Shizune ordered. "I heard there were some suspicious ninja around the village. We don't know who, or how many, but keep a close watch. In event of unknown ninja, bring in for questioning."

The shinobi nodded, flew out the window.

Deidara whistled. It was a pleasant, albeit somewhat boring tour guide. The flowers were blooming, sun was shining, ice cream melting. What could possibly go wrong?
