The Heinous Seconds..

Bulbul.. You are here..?!.. Then.. who.. who was that in my room..?!.. Pragya gasps in between her shaky voice.. and Bulbul notices her face smudged with sweat drops all over..

I know.. you are just playing with me na..?.. I know.. How many times to say you not to do so.. You have become so mischievous Bulbul.. Pragya scowls in a low tone..

Pragya bhabi.. Bulbul is here only.. for past fifteen minutes.. Purab says and Pragya sighs angrily at him saying.. Purab.. you too don't be on her side..

Bulbul walks close to her saying.. Trust me di.. I'm here only with Purab for past fifteen minutes.. I didn't come to your room..

Bulbul.. Pragya.. come down soon.. They heard their mother calling them and Bulbul replied.. haan ma.. we are coming.. 

She then looks at Pragya and holds her arm saying.. Di.. May be ma would have come to your room.. Don't think much.. see you are looking dull.. if Abhi jiju sees you like this.. then he will get upset.. Go to your room and get ready soon.. I will be there in a while..

Pragya nods her head.. while Purab got a call and it was Abhi.. after speaking to him.. he said looking at both the sisters.. Abhi bhai is on the way and he will be here in five minutes.. I have to go down... Saying so he gave a quick smile and walks the room..

Bulbul.. can you please pin my dupatta..?!.. Pragya asks and Bulbul nods to her..

After helping her with the dupatta.. Bulbul gives her a quick hug and says.. Wow di.. you look very pretty.. Jiju is gonna love you more..

Pragya blushes hearing her words, while Bulbul continued..  But di.. still.. I'm worried about that Tanu.. Whenever I see her.. something dissenting feel occurs around me.. She seems very recusant.. Especially when she is with jiju.. her eyes goes gloomy over him.. She.. she is.. ..  before she could speak futher.. Pragya cuts off her and says.. Nothing like that Bulbul.. You are over thinking.. She is Abhishek's best friend.. that's it..she is really very sweet and don't speak about her like this in front of Abhi.. You know nah, Tanu is all alone.. Her parents left her alone when she was an infant and she grew up in orphanage.. Vandhana Chachi adopted her as a guardian..

But di, She is always close and clinging to Abhi jiju.. Why is that..?!.. I just don't like their friendship.. Bulbul says in a sour tone..

Come on Bulbul.. As a good friend Abhishek is supporting her.. Then who else will..?!.. She is really very good.. Just take all these unwanted thoughts out of your heart and mind.. okay.. and don't ever speak such things in front of him.. I warn you again..

Bulbul.. Pragya.. Come down soon.. The priest is calling you..  Sarla stood near the door calling them.. And Pragya looks at her  with a bright smile..

You look so beautiful.. If your father was there.. he will be the happiest person above all.. Sarla said with tears filling her eyes..

Ma.. please.. not today at least.. Pragya said hugging her and Bulbul hugs them together.. Let's go down.. Everyone is waiting for us.. She says parting away and the three stepped down..

After few minutes..

Both of you exchange your rings.. Vandhana says looking at  them.. Pragya holds Abhi's hand and makes him wear the engagement ring into his finger.. She was bouncing with joy and her cheeks were coated with blush..

Abhi smiles at her and gestures her to give her hand.. And she forwards her hand to him.. Abhi turns to Purab who pulls out a small box from his pocket.. He opens the box and forwards to Abhi.. Who asks.. Where is the ring..?..

Everyone looked shocked at him and Vandhana steps close to him and grabs the box saying.. What.. It was inside the box nah..!.. She panics and looks down and searches for it.. while Purab says.. But.. Where did it go ma..?!.. It was with you right..?..

Haan Purab.. It was with me.. That was a diamond ring and so I kept it safe with me all the while.. I just gave it to you 10 minutes before nah.. but.. How come it is missing now..?!..

Chachi.. Relax.. Don't worry.. It will be here only somewhere.. Abhi says making her to feel ease..

And the priest said that the auspicious time is passing away..

With no other go.. Vandhana gave one of her ring to Abhi and asked him to make Pragya wear it.. Abhi did the same.. And everyone congratulated the newly  engaged couple..

Abhi hugs Pragya and whispers his voice saying.. I will be waiting in your room after a while.. Come soon.. Pragya nods her head slowly.. and Abhi parts away.. He winks at her and she eyes down with a peculiar smile..

After 10 minutes..

Wow Pragya.. You look very beautiful.. Abhi is very lucky to get such a beautiful wife.. Tanu said with a smile and a voice came from back.. yes of course.. That's why I chose Pragya for Abhi... Vandhana says walking close to them..

While Bulbul interrupted saying..
No aunty.. You should be thankful to me.. if not me.. You wouldn't have got Pragya di as your daughter in law..

Ahaan.. Don't worry.. Next is your wedding with Purab.. I wish both of your wedding should take place at a time.. but Purab's father couldn't come.. That's why.. Vandhana sounded sadly..

So what Aunty.. we can postpone di's wedding right..?!.. Bulbul asks and Vandhana gulps her throat looking at Sarla..

No Bulbul I can't.. They should get married soon.. Vandhana says in a hurried tone and just then they heard her mobile ringing.. She excuses from then and left the place.. Mean while Pragya got a message from Abhi..

"I'm waiting in your room.. come soon "

She smiles reading it and excuses from then by leaving the place.. Bulbul.. did you see my purse..?!.. I mean.. I don't remember where I missed it.. Tanu asks and Bulbul says.. It must be here Tanu.. somewhere.. check it.. She says and moves away, while Tanu wandered here and there..

With Pragya..

Abhi.. what's this.. why did you switch off the lights..!?.. Pragya entered her room asking so.. and saw him standing near the window..

She was about to switch on the light.. but he pulls her close to him.. Abhi.. just leave me.. Ma will come.. she freed herself from his grip and turned facing him..

A loud scream made everyone jerk, who were present downstairs.. That was di's voice.. Bulbul says and Abhi along with others rushed towards her room.. They found her lying on the floor and the ring was by her side..

Abhi lifted her in his arms and placed her over the bed, while Purab splashes done water on her face.. Sarla sat beside her and patted her cheek calling her name continuously..

With lot of struggle she opened her eyes.. She reminisces those eyes that were filled with heinous darkness..

Gasping her breath.. she voiced fearfully.. Ma.. Ma.. it slapped me.. it.. it strangled my.. my neck.. it was about to kill me.. I just.. I saw.. It was.. .. Her voice choked her throat and she started to cough vigorously holding her neck.. While everyone around her stood confounded..

Pragya.. Calm down..!.. What were you doing here alone.. when everyone were down..?!.. Vandhana enquires..

She eyes at Abhi and says.. Abhishek called me here.. And I came.. When I entered, the room was dark and Abhi was standing near the window.. And then, I saw a shadow and those eyes, it was so dark and spooky..

But Pragya.. I was down.. Yes, I asked you to meet me alone.. But I didn't come to your room.. Why did you come here..!?.. Abhi asks..

Abhishek.. Don't play with me.. I came here after seeing your message.. Pragya said staring at him..

Message.. Which message you are talking about..?!.. I didn't send any message to you.. Purab was having my mobile.. Abhi says looking at Purab.. Who pulled out Abhi's mobile from his pocket..

He checked into it and said.. Bhai is right.. Here is his mobile.. It is with me for a long time and I didn't take it out.. I'm sure.. Purab assures his words..

Am I lying..?.. I said nah.. I just received your message and then came here.. Pragya louds her voice and tears rolled down over her cheeks..

While Abhi said.. Where is your mobile..!?.. She wandered her eyes here and there.. While Abhi pulled his mobile from Purab's hand and dials her number.. The mobile rang and everyone looked around.. Purab bends down and takes the mobile, which was under the bed..

And then Abhi checked her mobile.. Few seconds later, he looks at her and says.. Where is the message..?!.. No such message is here.. Last message from me was yesterday.. See.. he completes his words and shows the mobile to Pragya.. who grabbed the mobile from him..!..

How.. How come  that's possible..?!.. I just received it.. why should I come here simply..?.. I'm damn sure I got your message and I read it.. When I came here.. The lights were off.. Abhi was standing near the window.. when I went to switch on the light.. he pulled me and I relieved from his grip.. I saw something strange and then it's eyes.. exactly.. It was as if like a needle pricking my eyes, when I witnessed it.. Pragya says weeping her voice..

Will you just shut up Pragya.. I didn't come here.. Nor I sent you the message.. is that clear.. Abhi voiced angrily and Vandhana pulled him out of the room..

Everyone walks out.. while Sarla stayed among with Pragya..

Abhi and Purab were inside the car.. While Vandhana was speaking to Sarla..  Take care of Pragya well.. I think she is too tired.. It happens Sarla ji.. Just take care of her.. I will call you later see her..

Sarla nods and Vandhana gets into the car.. followed by Tanu..  Bulbul came running and was about to stop them.. But they left..

"I'm sorry Pragya.. I shouldn't have shouted like that.. I'm extremely sorry..".. said Abhi over the phone..,

"It's okay.. Abhi.. May be I would have misunderstood.. the fault is mine.. don't blame yourself..".. Pragya replies in a sobbing tone..

"Now leave it.. what about a dinner for tomorrow.. It's been a long time we went out together nah.. Shall we make it tomorrow..?!..".. Abhi asks..

"Haan.. but Ma.. chachi..!? .." Pragya stressed her voice and Abhi said.. "Oh come on.. I will speak with chachi and ask her to speak with your mom.. You be ready tomorrow evening.. I will pick you up..!.. "

Pragya agrees to him and ends the call..

She looks out the window, where it was calm and dark.. Stepping  down over the floor.. she walked near to the window and the moment flashed in her eyes.. Which she addressed to everyone..

I had seen those eyes before..
But.. not in this stance.. Who it must be..?!.. she murmurs standing near the window, and heard the sound of the door sliding slowly.. Huffing her breath.. she turned back to see Bulbul standing with the food plate..

Letting out a deep sigh..  She said.. Bulbul.. can't you knock and come in.. atleast you should have give your voice out.. It was completely freaking to me.. She says in a enraged tone..

Sorry di, I just thought that, you would been sleeping.. So walked in.. Bulbul apologizes walking towards the bed.. Pragya rolls her eyes around and Bulbul says.. Di, you have started to ignore me.. then how about after marriage..?!..

Pragya was in no mood to pay attention to her.. She sat over the bed while Bulbul kept ogling at her and Pragya gestures her as what..!..

Forget it di..!.. Jiju was very tensed.. and of course.. he shouted because he cares for you.. Bulbul says..

I know that that Bulbul.. infact he called me few minutes back and apologized for that.. he even said that tomorrow we are going out for dinner.. but.. .. Pragya pauses giving her an empty sight and Bulbul says.. No if and buts.. Just cheer up nah di.. See how lovely he is.. think about him.. plan for your dinner date with him..

Pragya sighs sadly and says.. I'm thinking about what happened today.. that eyes.. I just can't get  out of it.. You know Bulbul, it was about to strangle my neck.. If I wouldn't have shouted.. I would have been dead by the time.. Pragya said in a go..

Please di.. I said let it go.. May be all that is your illusion.. You didn't sleep well last night and today we were busy with all the arrangements nah.. so, you are tired.. Bulbul says, but still Pragya looked baffled..

Di, what about tomorrow..  you are going out for dinner right.. Pragya nods with a sour smile and Bulbul asked her to finish her dinner..

In Abhi's house..

Aunty.. please..!.. leave me.. it's paining.. please Aunty.. Tanu pleaded to Vandhana.. who was dragging her by her arm very rashly towards the guest room..

She pushes her onto the bed and Tanu stumbles..  She then lifts her up and slap her hard over her cheek.. And she throws a purse over Tanu's face saying..
I knew it.. I knew that it was your work.. how many times I had to warn you.. that be away from my children..?..

But Aunty.. what I did..?! .. Tanu asks wiping her tears and She says.. Don't think I'm a fool.. I know that, it was you who attacked Pragya.. I warned you to stay away from my Abhi and Pragya.. Your intention is never gonna happen Tanu.. Vandhana screamed her voice angrily..

Tanu stood sobbing in front of her and says.. No Aunty.. Please trust me..  I didn't.. Why should I..?!..

Don't act innocent.. Then how come your purse was in  Pragya's room..?.. When everyone were concentrating on Pragya.. I found it on the floor near the bed.. Then I came to know that it was all your plan.. You planned to make Pragya as a fool and wished to insult in front of all.. It was because of you.. Abhi shouted at Pragya in front of everyone ..

Tanu shook her head as no..  While Vandhana continues.. But I will not let that happen again.. This is my last warning to you.. One more time if you plan for any attempts.. I swear.. you will be out of this house.. Saying so she walked out of the room.. And Tanu cried vigorously lying over the bed..

She felt a chill breeze tracing her cheeks.. which wiped away the tears that were rolling down her cheeks.. Her vision blurred and she steps down and walks to the window.. she felt a a shadow shading her and the whole room went dark as much as it could..

Silence prevailed for the next few seconds.. she could only hear her panting breath echoing all around her.. She steps back and sits over the bed by holding the pillow..

Suddenly the light came and what she saw made her to faint at the spot..

Next day, morning..

Chachi.. did you see Tanu..?.. I didn't see her from last night..  Abhi asks and dials to her number.. He sighs ending the call and says.. Don't know, where she is..?!.. Her number too is switched off.. Abhi says sitting next to her..

I saw her today morning.. She has gone out for some work..  Vandhana says sipping the tea..

Is it..?.. but.. she didn't inform me.. Abhi sounded in a distressed tone..  And Vandhana says.. So what Abhi.. she too has her own life.. I agree that she doesn't have anyone other than us.. though.. She is mature and she should learn to take control of her own life here after.. Don't take her life into your control..

Chachi.. I'm not controlling her life.. I want her to stay in a comfortable life.. that's all.. she is my friend right.. Abhi says..

Come on Abhi.. I Know that you  two are friends.. And I'm her legal guardian too..  I have much responsibility on her than you.. But you are going to get married..  Think about Pragya too.. Did you make arrangements for your dinner with her..?.. She asks and Abhi says..  Oh haan,  thanks for reminding me Chachi.. It completely slipped out of my mind..

First go and make it fast..  Be on time to pick Pragya..  She says for which Abhi nods and walks to his room.. while Vandhana murmurs her voice saying.. This Tanu is ruining my patience all the time..  It's not a good sign.. I should keep her under my control..  Or else,  she will be a big trouble for Abhi and Pragya.. 

She then grabs her mobile from the table and dials someone..
