Mama's Home

Immortal Life

This is a really short story. This is just a collection of shots that i've had in my head for a while but can't be bothered turning into an actual oneshot or story, all centred around Percy and Artemis being gods of and rulers of the demigods and the heads of Camp basically.

Immortal Life

1- Mama's Home

Percy's ears perked up when he heard it, the familiar sound that had echoed through this land hundreds of times. The sound of a horn being blown meant something in particular, something which made him shoot up off the couch and move for the stairs. It was the horn of the Hunters of Artemis, and they were here.

The Olympian hurried down the hallway upstairs to his own bedroom, calling out as he went. "Kids! Mom's home!" He yelled, catching the attention of everyone else in the house. He heard the sound of multiple pairs of feet hitting the ground and then doors swinging or slamming open before those same feet could be heard stampeding down the stairs.

Percy opened his bedroom door and rushed inside over to the beside, where a large pen stood right next to his side of the bed. It wasn't actually a pen though, it was a crib, and inside it a small infant could be seen rubbing its eyes as it struggled to look up at it's dad in the morning light.

Winter had come, and thus it was extremely cold where the Camp stood, and thus baby Scipia had gone to have a nap with the warmest, fuzziest outfit she had. When she could see properly and Percy's face became recognizable, the babe's face morphed into a very happy expression as it saw it's dada standing there ready to take her.

Percy smiled at his daughter and picked her up out of the crib. Scipia's hands immediately launched up to snatch at Percy's head, to which Percy's face scrunched up and he buried himself into the side of her head. Scipia cackled with laughter and pushed him away.

Percy looked down at her and walked towards the door. "Mama's home, baby." He said softly, and at the mention of her mother Scipia's head snapped in all directions trying to get a glimpse.

"Ba!" Scipia exclaimed, wriggling around to get a better look. She managed to move so she was on her knees in his arms, resting her head on her dad's shoulder while a sad look came over her face. "Ba?" She asked sadly, moving to look at him.

Percy laughed as they left down the stairs towards the front door. "She outside, love. We go see her now. We go see mama. You warm?" He asked in his baby voice, looking over his daughter as they reached the door. She was wearing a very warm outfit with some kind of animal fur shirt and black pants with pink socks. "Look good. Right, c'mon then missy." He said with a nod.

Scipia had her hand around her dad's neck for support as she looked around, pressing the front of both lips together. "Vwa!" She said impatiently as Percy opened the door.

Percy rolled his eyes. "Alright, alright, let's go, sookie." He muttered with a slight smirk as he stepped into his boots. The father and daughter left the Big House and walked down the hill, heading towards the crowd of people near Cabin 8.

He could see most of them wore silver parka jackets and were making their way into the cabin, while a few female demigods hung around saying hi to the hunters they were friends with. There were also a few male demigods just there to see what was going on, much to the displeasure of the Hunters of Artemis.

Speaking of Artemis, an auburn haired lady in a similar outfit, aged around 21 or so, stepped away from a girl the same height as her. The girl looked a lot like Percy, and in fact it was one of their elder daughters Selena - the majority of their kids were girls, which Artemis had no problem with.

The goddess of the hunt looked towards the Big House intent on having a nap and instead found two of the people she wanted to see the most walking over. Her dear husband Percy and her baby daughter Scipia Letus came over, and upon seeing her mother Scipia squealed in glee.

Percy and Artemis' marriage had been arranged by the Olympian council years before after the Second Civil War in order to make peace on Olympus, but their love had not been. Alright, well technically it had been arranged because if Zeus and Poseidon hadn't told them to get married they wouldn't have fallen in love, but that's beside the point.

Percy and Artemis had been on different sides during the war, with Perseus' fatal flaw and a previous loyalty oath dictating him as he became a reluctant monarchist under Zeus, while Artemis for once in her life defied her father and joined Athena's Republican uprising. The Republicans had won and Olympus had a taste of true democracy for a few hundred years, but that didn't last too long.

With Zeus, Percy and other loyalists locked up, the Olympian Council took on new members from the minor classes of gods and through systematic manipulation and political plays, the remaining original council members found themselves being undermined by the fed up minor gods. It had almost come to a head when the council voted 5 - 7 to have Artemis and Athena themselves married off to some of the new minor Olympians, and so the old order quickly scrambled to regain power lest they be executed by another uprising. They made peace with the monarchists on the condition that they quell the disobedience and prevent an uprising, and Zeus returned to the throne under a constitution of sorts. To solidify this, two major supporters of both sides were wed, Perseus and Artemis, so tough luck for her. She narrowly avoided getting married, won the war and then got married off in celebration.

Artemis grinned when she saw Scipia and walked over. "Hello, my baby girl!" She said in her uncharacteristic baby voice, reaching out and taking Scipia from her father's arms. The baby giggled when she received a hug from the mother that had been gone for a few weeks, and cackled once again when Artemis started peppering kisses all over her cheek. "Have you been good?"

Percy smiled and stroked the happy baby's cheek. "You missed your mama, didn't you? We had a lot of tanties while she was gone." He gave a half-grin while Artemis looked back at Scipia with exaggerated shock.

"Have you been misbehaving, girl? Oh, well mama's home now. It's alright, eh? It's all good now." She spoke softly as she bounced the baby around to keep her warm from the cold air.

After realising that she hadn't even greeted her soulmate yet Artemis held the baby on her hip and stepped closer to her husband. Percy smiled and leaned in for a kiss which lasted a full three seconds, after which they separated and smiled at each other. Percy tucked a loose strand of auburn hair behind her ear. "I missed you." He grinned.

Artemis smiled as she continued bouncing the baby on her hip. "I missed you too, love. The nights were cold, alone." She said warmly, looking between him and Scipia, who was now eating her own hand.

Percy gave her the same cheeky lopsided grin that ended up conceiving the majority of their kids. "You don't need to worry about that anymore, babe. I'll make sure it's extra hot tonight." He winked, forcing his wife to blush heavily as she looked back at Scipia to hide it.

Artemis then looked up at the afternoon sun and groaned. "What's for dinner?" She asked, walking back to the Big House. Percy promptly followed after her, waving at the Hunters as they left.

"It's burger night. Riss and the boys volunteered to help grill and I can get the girls on the other stuff." He told her happily, loving burger night in the camp. He opened the front door and let her in first.

"The hunters can help too. Don't need the kids cooking for all of Camp." She offered, kicking her boots off at the door while Scipia played with her mama's hair.

Percy rolled his eyes and did the same. Artemis walked over to the fridge and opened it up, taking out one of the beers and opening the can with her teeth. As she stood there guzzling it down for a second Percy approached from behind and began playing with her hair too, making Scipia look up at her dad, wondering what he was doing with her toy. "The hunters can shut the Hades up and have a nap. We have 11 kids, Arty, not including this lil' gremlin. Pretty sure theres not even 100 people at the camp, they can split the work reasonably. Me, Riss and the boys cook a few dozen patties each, girls get that same amount in other shit." He told her, playfully shoving his hand in Scipia's face.

Artemis smiled and shut the fridge, turning around to face him. "And what can I do, love?" She asked, looking for work. Percy flashed her a grin and stroked her cheek.

"You can get that pretty lil' butt ready for tonight. Oh, and have a nap too, you look tired, babe." He ordered, receiving in response a smile as she took another sip of the beer.

Artemis looked at the clock and saw it was nearly four. "Might wanna get started soon if you're tryna feed 100 kids." She reminded him, and Percy shrugged.

"Don't have to be at exactly six. Nighttime burgers are great too." He brushed it aside. "Besides, we gotta go put this chipmunk back to bed soon. The hunters woke her up early." He informed her, looking down at their baby daughter. As if on cue, Scipia yawned and stopped playing with Artemis' hair for a moment to lean her head on her mama's shoulder.

Artemis smiled and put down the beer. "Aw, someone tired now? C'mon, baby." She said softly as she headed towards the stairs. Percy followed close behind her as they headed towards their bedroom.

The room had the curtains shut, and next to their king sized bed on Artemis' side was Scipia's cot. With the baby practically asleep on her already, Artemis shifted her and gave her baby a kiss on the forehead. At this feeling, Scipia's eyes opened ever so slightly, but she didn't reawaken.

Percy came over and kissed her too, before letting Artemis place her down into her crib gently. Scipia was already asleep, but Artemis still turned the nightlight on anyway before walking over to her dresser. "I'm gonna have a shower." She whispered to her husband in the dark, who gave a thumbs up.

"You rest up, love. Watch some tv or sleep. I'll come get you when dinner's ready." He whispered back, and after getting the affirmative Percy left the room, allowing Artemis to get some clothes and head into their personal bathroom.

As Artemis hopped into the shower Percy walked back down the stairs and put his boots back on before walking out the door. Since they had no negative effects on him, being that he was a god and thus had stellar health, Percy pulled out a cigarette and lit it up.

"Boys!" He called out, picking his only two sons Calix and Leonius - Cal and Leon for short - from the crowd and gesturing them over. The two teens flashed the grins they had inherited from their father as he put his hands on his hips. "Credit card. Take the van and get some burger stuff, like 140 burgers, shit ton of cheese 'n lettuce, and drinks." He directed them.

Calix grinned and quickly grabbed the card before his brother could. "Sure thing, dad!" He agreed happily, knowing they could also procure a bunch of junk food with a god's credit card.

Percy smiled and turned to leave them to it before stopping. "Don't... fucking injure anyone this time, please." He warned, remembering what happened the last time he sent his sons out shopping.

Leon smirked and gave a salute, making Percy roll his eyes as the god walked away to Cabin 8. Could he trust them? Probably not.

The two did eventually get back with the food, only it was six in the evening at this point. Percy pulled out the grills and called Larissa over to him and the boys. Selena saw they were getting started and went to get her siblings.

Percy chucked some lighter fluid on all the grills while Larissa ripped open a bag of burgers. Eventually some of her siblings came over and started sorting out the other ingredients so they were easily accessible. The godlings were going to be running this like a typical school lunch line. You lined up, got your patty and buns, and then you continued down the line and along the way you got whatever ingredients you wanted from the respective godling dishing them out. Percy and Artemis' two youngest daughters (aside from Scipia) were working the easy things like lettuce and gherkins while three of the older ones did the ingredients that required more work like sauces, drinks and cheese. The rest of their children were first in line to get dinner while the boys hopped behind another two grills.

Percy called another daughter of his - Kaylee - over before she could grab a plate. The Artemis wannabe sighed and walked over to her dad. "Do us a solid and go get the Hunters and mom. They can get first dibs... well aside from you guys." He gestured to a few of his children getting the first burgers on their plates. Kaylee nodded and began to trudge over to Cabin 8, the Hunters cabin.

She knocked on the door and opened it, seeing all her adopted sisters hanging around in there. Most of them turned to her while some didn't even notice and continued chatting. Kaylee cleared her throat. "Dinner's up! Dad says you guys get first dibs since you've had a big trip or something. Burgers." She informed them, shutting the door a bit and leaving as she heard many of them stand up, excited for some good food after a couple months of deer and rabbit.

Kaylee's next destination was the Big House. She opened the door and walked in without taking off her shoes. "Mom!" She called, immediately being hissed at in a shushing motion from the living room. She walked in and saw her mother on the couch wearing a hoodie and sweatpants with socks. Artemis saw her and pointed up, gesturing that Scipia was asleep. Kaylee got the message and nodded. "Dinner's ready. Dad wants you and the hunters to go first. You want me to get her?" She asked, pointing to the stairs.

Artemis shook her head as she got up and walked to the door. "Nah, don't worry. She'll wake up when she wants to. C'mon, let's grab a bite." She told her daughter, waving her over to the door as she slipped some boots on. Kaylee complied and the mother-daughter duo left the Big House to go get some burgers.

Artemis saw a few of her hunters were already in line. "Little-ies go first!" She reminded them, and the young hunters who weren't at the front were given a direct path as their older sisters moved aside. Some campers saw it was dinner time and walked over to get theirs, not that Artemis minded. She simply continued to remind the newcomers to let the kids go first, kicking in Camp leader mode and organizing everything.

Though she was trying to bring order and stability to the line, she was still in line too, so eventually it came her turn to grab a bite. She turned around when she arrived and Larissa gave her two buns. Percy was the one giving her the patties and he plopped one on both the bottom buns. Her husband's eyes flicked up with a smile dancing in them, hindered by the fire. "Y'know you radiate pure mama bear energy. They call Hera the goddess of mothers but far as I know she hasn't adopted hundreds of daughters and had over ten of her own." He complimented her.

Artemis really liked that comment. It was unique from the cliché 'your face looks pretty' or 'did you do something with your hair?' She smiled back at her soulmate and waited for the line to move. "Well at least I'm allowed vacations for a few weeks. Thankfully I have the best husband and dad in the world to cover my shifts." She thanked him in a strange manner.

Percy shrugged and flipped the next patties. "That sounds like one of my coffee mugs I always get for father's day. I don't even really like coffee that much." He ranted slightly about the state of his gift reception. Artemis laughed. The mugs were originally her idea that she'd given to Selena when she was young.

She moved down the line. Her daughter Zoë was working on cheeses, and was currently slicing some more off a block. "Cheese?" She asked her mom, who nodded and allowed the girl to place a few slices on her burgers. Next was gherkins, being prepared by their second youngest child Sapphire, a girl of four, who'd had her big sis cut up the gherkins earlier so all she needed to do was put 'em on. Being that she was four, she pronounced it ghuk? and Artemis nodded along and accepted..

Next was their third youngest daughter Lyanna, and she was tearing off some lettuce. She asked her mommy if she wanted any, and the ever healthy goddess agreed. The young girl carefully tore some off and gently placed some on the patties, determined to get it centered.

Avrina was manning the sauce department, and upon seeing her mother there she slammed the underside of the table. "What do you want?!" She teased, catching a case of the grins when she saw Artemis' complete and utter surprise. Avrina had to fight not to crack as her fellow children of Perseus and Artemis pretended not to find that funny. Luckily for Avrina, her mom did find it funny.

Artemis heard her daughter Zoë ask her lieutenant and that same daughter's namesake Zoë if she wanted cheese, and the Nightshade agreed. Artemis nodded to two of the bottles Avrina had. "Aioli and ketchup." She decided. Her daughter nodded and shook the two bottles before squirting some out onto her patty and bun.

The last of her daughters in the line was Alessandra, or Alex, who was serving drinks. Despite it being winter, the daughter of Artemis who was actually over 50 years old with a 17 year old appearance was wearing shorts and a t-shirt, which the goddess of the hunt just couldn't comprehend. The girl gestured to the four drinks available - coke, pepsi, sprite or water. Artemis pointed to the third option, and a glass of lemonade was poured for her.

With her dinner now served, Artemis made sure the little ones she was in line with had properly gotten the meals. "You guys can eat in the cabins, just don't make a mess!" She called out, amplifying her voice as a goddess so all the demigods could hear her. She saw a few of the little ones confused and so walked over and began to direct them where to go, as they probably didn't hear her.

Once there were seemingly no kids under the age of 10 in line she felt it stable enough to return to the Big House where she could eat. As she walked up the stairs she saw a certain centaur sitting in his wheelchair by the door, wearing a large fur coat and resting without food. "Hungry, Chiron?" She asked one of the few males she liked.

Chiron smiled and nodded at her. "I'll go and get mine soon. Let some of the campers get in first." He assured her. Artemis had personally just demonstrated how she was willing to get food before a bunch of teenagers but he could do him, she could do her.

She walked into the Big House and put her plate on the bench. She saw her half-drunk beer was still sitting on the counter, and so reluctantly picked it up and downed the room-temperature liquid so as to not waste it. As she heard how empty the house was, she decided she wanted to wait for a couple of her kids to get back with their food before digging in, as some were in line rather than serving food.

The goddess took her food into the living room and sat one the couch directly opposite the tv, putting her plate on the small table next to her. She turned it on, beginning to flick through channels with the remote. She ate away at her burgers while watching some recorded episodes of a series she liked, Breaking Bad, enjoying all this downtime after weeks of hunting.

She finished her food satisfied and put down the plate, grabbing the blanket off the back of their L-couch and moving to the part with the leg room. Artemis lay down and continued watching tv, waiting for something to interrupt her. That thing came when a few of her kids walked in with their food. It was just Larissa, Cali and Avrina. Artemis looked up from her cozy spot on the couch. "Where's your siblings?" She asked, noticing only a quarter of her kids were present.

Larissa sat down on the other couch, followed by Cali. Avrina sat next to her mother. "They went to eat with the hunters. They probably won't come to bed for hours aside from the girls." She said, with girls referring to the youngest two sisters, Lyanna and Sapphire.

Artemis nodded as her kids turned to watch the show with her. They had already binged the episodes while she was gone, but they left them recorded for her return and were fine with watching them again. While the kids ate their burgers, a noise built up from upstairs. Scipia let the world know she had awoken, and Artemis sighed as she realised she had to get out of the warm blanket.

Artems got up, telling the other's that she'd get her, before walking over to the stairs. She walked up and to her bedroom, cracking open the door just enough to get inside. Her baby was sitting up in the crib, staring at the door and when she saw her mama walked in Scipia's tear-streaked face morphed to a bright grin in a split second. "Hiiiiii." Artemis greeted in her baby voice as she walked over to the crib.

Scipia had her arms out, wanting to be taken as Artemis picked her up out of the crib. The goddess held her daughter on her hip and bounced her slightly while Scipia shoved two fingers in her wide grinning mouth. "You were out for a long time. Did you have a good sleep? Did you?" Artemis asked.

As if she knew what her mama had said, Scipia answered the question. "Fa!" She yipped, making Artemis gasp.

"You did? That's great! What did you dream about, bubba?" She carried the conversation, earning yet another yip from the little squirrel. "Really? Wow, that must have been cool." Artemis conversed with the infant, walking back down the stairs. It was now about 7, so it was Scipia's normal bedtime already, but she had overslept her nap and the day was probably too exciting for her to go to bed right now.

Artemis walked back into the living room where Larissa sat up and waved at the baby. "Hi Scippy!" She babied, making the infant grin as she had her own fingers in her mouth. Scipia's eyes were on her big sis as Larissa got off the couch to kneel by the playpen. As usual, Artemis placed the baby in the play pen so she could have her toys and maybe even a sibling to play with, but unlike what usually happened, the second she was set down Scipia started screaming and crying, turning around nearly 180 degrees to look at her mama. Wailing, the baby fumbled over to crawl as fast as she could to the playpen wall and looked up at her mom, who had jumped at the sudden noise.

Calix and Avrina laughed while Larissa reached in and squeezed one of Scipia's toys, squeaking it. "Hey! Hey bubba, look! Stop crying." She tried to catch the baby's attention. Scipia turned for a moment, still crying to look at the squeaking noise, but that didn't last long before she turned back and leaned against the playpen wall, desperate for her mom. Larissa looked up at Artemis with a smile. "I think she misses you."

Artemis sighed as she realised her daughter was right, and that there would be no distracting Scipia or otherwise occupying her. Her baby daughter wanted her mom, and she wanted her now. "Alright, alright, stop crying." She reached back down to pick up the baby, who had her arms stretched out pleadingly. The baby was light as feathers as she rested her on her hip, looking at the tear-streaked young face. "Why you such a crybaby, huh? Crybaby." She teased as Scipia had now calmed down to just sobbing and sniffling. Artemis backed up towards the couch and sat down. "You can have a couch night with mama, okay? You go see hunters in the morning." She decided.

Scipia was all too willing to agree as Artemis lay down, with the baby leaning forward to rest her head on her mama's chest as the tears slowly dried up. There was no more sobbing or whimpering now that she was free to cuddle her mom for as long as she wanted. Well, as long as she wanted being between now and whenever she fell asleep.

Artemis didn't know when exactly she fell asleep. All she knew was that by the time Percy walked back into the house around 10 or 11, Scipia was out cold on top of her. Percy smiled at her. "I can see she missed you." He noted, earning a scoff from Avrina, who was laying on another couch.

"You have no idea." The daughter of Perseus said, tracing the pattern of the couch with her fingernail. Percy looked between her and Artemis, but didn't bother asking for elaboration. He had a pretty good idea, as Scipia had demonstrated just how much she missed her mom while she was away. After a month of that nonsense, he was glad she finally had the thing to calm her down cause gods only know they couldn't really find anything else short of knocking her out.

Artemis, after realising her husband was now back, looked at Larissa. "You wanna sleep with her tonight?" She asked, not wanting Scipia to sleep in their room because she was planning on things that weren't appropriate for infants to be present. Larissa nodded and stood up, walking over to Artemis. The latter moved her arms away from holding Scipia on top of her, and praying that she wouldn't awaken and start thrashing around again, Larissa swiftly swept the baby off of Artemis' chest and into her own embrace. The teen cringed for a second, hoping all was settled, and after a few seconds of silence she sighed as she realised Scipia was still unconscious.

Larissa nodded at her parents. "Night." She whispered, carefully moving towards the stairs, trying not to wake Scipia. The creak of the fifth step was deafening, but Scipia was a deep sleeper. The two sisters ascended up the stairs and out of sight as Artemis looked back at Percy.

"Well I think we'd better hit the sack as well. It's been a long day. Goodnight you two." She said, looking back at her other two kids still on the couch. The others would all be over in cabin 8 and would pile in in a few hours, while her younger daughters were both in bed already. Percy agreed to her suggestion of bedtime, and followed his wife up the stairs.

The couple walked past Larissa's room, where they saw the godling laying her baby sister down on the bed and about to get changed into her pyjamas. She saw her parents going past and waved, while Artemis whispered a quick goodnight through the doorway.

Percy opened the door to their bedroom and let her in first. The second she was in and he shut the door, Artemis turned around and launched herself at him, keen to risk a 13th pregnancy if it meant being able to release a month's worth of sexual buildup. Good thing their room was soundproof.

I seem to do this thing where I plan to write a certain amount of words and then accidentally double it. I have no idea how to moderate my word count, and I remember that being a problem with English assessments lmfao. Remember, this will not be a primary story, just a filler fluff thing I'll update during times of brainfarts, writer's block or if I know an upcoming chapter on another story's gonna be like 10k words. Hope you enjoyed this. Now enjoy while I get this word count from 4944 to 5000. F f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f 4 4 4 4 4 3 3 2 w d d s s f g t 4 d c g r s xr joe mama.
