✧DETENTION?!✧

◊━━━━━✥━━━━━◊

***

Upon entering the Ravenclaw common room, he had gone directly off towards his sister's corner. She was curled up with Sterling in her lap, and he huffed when sitting in the one opposite of her.

"Everything alright?"
"No. Potter found out about our Uncle." It hadn't Imara long to piece together how that would possibly go, and she pushed aside her current read. "Do you have the map?"

"No, Cara had it last. I've already checked the usual four spots...And I have detention with Snape for the next three days." Now that earned a risen brow and a smirk. "Scare the bloke, did you?"

"Of course! I had to! He was right out of line. It's not our fault he's completely clueless about everything. He should be asking questions not pointing fingers."
"I agree Rom, but he has raised by muggles. That would be difficult for anyone without magical guidance. Fred said he hadn't known about Sirius Black until two weeks before the start of term." It hadn't made any sense, Sirius had escaped at the beginning of the summer, and he had only learned because of his act of running away.

Clearly his knowledge of the wizarding world—Or lack there of, was causing much more harm than good.

Leaving incidences like this to turn catastrophic.

"Merlin...It's hardly been a few weeks since the two ended up in the infirmary." Imara reminded her brother, and the fellow had gritted his teeth. That would've made a compelling addition.

"Yeah well, in his mind they aren't friends as of now." Imara had picked up her little critter and held him close. "That's alright, she doesn't need to be bothered with a crush anyway," Imara claimed and Romulus groaned.

Having almost forgotten about that portion of it all.

"I'll find her, no worries."
"And my three-day detention? Mother's going to be ecstatic."
"And father's going to be crying tears of joy, if anything...I kind of like hearing that you have our back." She said, placing a polite kiss on her brother's cheek before she found herself off and away from the Ravenclaw common room.

And funny enough, she hadn't gone that far without the twins coming to join her mission.

"And where might we be going?"
"I'd say Fred, she looks much scarier now then—"

She stopped and glared at either of them. "Potter made my sister cry." She deemed and while George had sucked in a breath, Fred had looked widely conflicted.

His loyalty to a member of his house was waining thin, but then he knew Cara outright—Her fancyment to Potter on top of that—The girl wouldn't hurt anyone.

"We'll have a talk with him."
"Don't bother, once he realizes what else my family was up to, we'll all be getting a screaming at. Honestly, it was bad enough Cara was getting ready to head to Ilvermorny." Imara claimed, picking up her pace back to her first elected hiding spot that Cara might hideaway at.

"Why on earth would she be doing that, Hogwarts is—"
"Because we heard wonderful stories about both our uncles and everything's been tainted and warped. My sister is very sensitive and I have half the mind on cursing Potter myself." She bustled towards Fred's approach and he glanced toward's George.

"Shame we gave up our map to Potter, I'll go—I'll go look this way." He stuttered before taking a direct detour from once they came, and when Imara's eyes had connected back to Fred's she huffed.

"Not now Fred."
"Then when? Merlin 'mara...I don't like hiding this any more than you do."
"If my parents find out anything more they'll send me to a Sanctuary Camp this summer, is that what you want?"
"Course not, but at the very least I want to hold my girlfriend's hand when we're in an empty hallway." He countered and she sighed, this year was stressful enough as is.

And while she tried to ignore the temptations of the heart, it was rather impossible to do so. "I'd like that very much, but there's a lot going on at the moment."
"Then let me help you." She could see that he wanted to, it was clear.

It was an odd pairing between the two, sure. Imara couldn't count how many times she told her classmates that she didn't fancy either of the twins and now...Now it was as if this year had blindsided her, this itty feeling in the pit of her stomach would send never-ending fireworks off and it was only when she looked at him.

Looking at her best friend caused this sensation.

Confused by these emotions, she had wrongly assumed she was ill—Before long it was clear that any time the Weasley twin would laugh or smile in her direction, it was a sure-fire response in the lower half of her body.

And what a betraying feeling indeed

She leaned up to her tippy toes and kissed his cheek. "Later, meet me after dinner. We'll do something, just the two of us."
"Not with George?"
"I don't think he'd appreciate seeing us snogging, would he?" His eyes had bulged out of his skull as he watched her retreating form.

Knowing full well that the act of her hair cycling through her favorite colors was one of the ways to know that she was embarrassed or blew a fuse.

And he was grinning ear to ear knowing that she had been just as affected as he was.

In escaping that sappy love trap, Imara's smile had continued to fade as she wandered closer to Buckbeak's pen. But upon arrival, Hagrid hadn't seen Cara today at all.

Leaving it as one strike to the record of where Cara would inevitably go.

Granted, the girl could simply be avoiding them altogether. Watching them on the map and darting another way, but she didn't think her sister would be that put together after being verbally assaulted. Romulus hadn't gone into details as to what's happened, but it was enough for a 3-day-detention, so it must've been a grand retaliation for something awful.

With the door now in sight, Imara had taken to knocking on the door before peeking her head in. Only to find Cara curled up into the side of the wall with her knees propped up and her eyes looking out towards Buckbeak's den.

But what was worse, was the burned cauldron off in the corner.

"Hey love...Rom said you—"
"I don't wanna talk about it 'mara." She said, a slight sniffle still making her voice groggy. So she simply came forward and bent down to join her sister. Sterling sensing the distress of a familiar human and instantly gone to snuggle her senselessly.

But the attention hadn't managed a usual reaction, leaving the Niffler to try harder.

Ultimately earning him a stroke through his fur, but still no smile could be found.

"You can't control what anyone thinks of you Carebear, it'll only hurt worse."
"B-but Sirius is innocent."
"And the world doesn't know that darling, mother and Uncle Regulus swear on their hearts, and sure father's scared out of his wits. But everyone sees him as a murderer, just like father was labeled until the truth came forward." Imara knew her sister needed logic to combatted the likes of her damning thoughts. "Mother was almost convicted as well, and some people still think that she deserves Azkaban. People will always have their own opinion."

"It's not an opinion, I don't even know where he's heard it...He didn't have to be so mean about it." Imara's arm had come behind her sister and held onto her, her chin coming onto her shoulder.

"And that is a very dangerous thing, to jump to conclusions. Romulus had done the same when we learned about mother and father, as had I. It's hard when we're taught one thing and then it's tainted so quickly. Once Harry realizes it, he'll come and apologies. I swear it—Otherwise the twins will hang him upside down from the Quidditch stands." Cara had cracked a smile by Imara's promise and Cara had started to laugh through the last of her sobs.

"Wouldn't that be funny?"
"It sounds awful, but I couldn't really care at this point. I didn't think he could ever be that mean, especially since I haven't done anything wrong." The two sisters remained in the company of each other with Sterling taking advantage of the silence by gaining scratches and attention.

-Lestrange Manor-

Aurora had a pleasant talk with Newton Scamander over the course of the following week, it was hard not to continue to fangirl over his presence in her manor, but Rabastan would just hide his amused expression.

Even if she said they've been friends for years, clearly she was still widely happy in his company. And he could hardly have an issue, especially considering this friendship was helping win a case against Malfoy.

It was also a blessing to hear that Imara had run into him, and hearing about their eldest daughter thriving in school as of late was a relief.

Especially with OWLS coming much quicker than they realized.

"I simply cannot understand why Mr.Malfoy is so inclined for the death penalty, it's barbaric," Newt explained, reading over his son's notes once more. But upon looking at the time, he'd come to realize that they spent well over five hours—Deciding that it was enough for today's effort.

Leaving Aurora to layout on the couch to close her eyes. "Headache?" Rabastan questioned, and she peeked an eye open and shook her head in denial. "No. Not yet at least."

He sighed, without the children here to mask all the assignments and workload, he would always catch his wife falling just near exhaustion.

"How about a nap?"
"No, I have too much to do."
"Nonsense, everything is slowing down for Christmas if you hadn't recalled. We're left with nothing but decorating and a calming holiday." It had suddenly occurred to Rory that all her hard work had managed for her and Rabastan to take nearly two months off from the constant workload.

Leaving her to sigh in utter relief.

"Is there such a thing as a victory nap?" He dwelled and she swatted him as he moved her legs onto his lap as he summoned a blanket to the likes of the both of them.

It was difficult for Rory to not surcome to her exhaustion, not when he started to massage her backside and hummed to himself.

The mother of five knew very well that this is what her husband would do with Lorelei when she was younger and Aurora was called to work.

His house arrest had given him the best relationship with their youngest, but that didn't mean he left out anyone else. It was just difficult when Romulus and Cara were little potioneers in the making.

"Don't let me sleep for too long."
"I'll be happy as could be if you sleep until tomorrow morning." She shifted her body in a way to shove him, but he simply just kept his hold on her with a firm grip.

"Careful love, I'll get the wrong idea." She let out a chuckle into the blanket, usually the third week of September—She and Rabastan would enjoy their time together alone.

Funny how the bloke just beside her was as obsessed with her as he was in Hogwarts.

"Perhaps if I could get some rest, then maybe tonight we could—" The announcement of an owl had caused Rabastan to grumble his own line of curses. They hardly had the chance to be intimate with all these surrounding problems.

Though he took great pride in pissing off the Malfoy family bit by bit, oh have the mighty have fallen.

"It's from Flitwick." That caused Aurora to pull herself up and lean on her side against the couch, she scanned the parcel and scoffed. "DETENTION?!"

Rabastan had sucked in a breath, there were three possible candidates for that parcel, but Imara had promised she would behave this year—Consider she is a Prefect after all.

"Which bird is it that got—"
"ROMULUS!" She hissed, removing herself from the couch and hurrying over to her desk. Rabastan followed shortly behind to not only read the parcel in question, but to get a better feel of what actually happened.

"Aurora, remember, we swore that we'll wait for a follow up owl...I think I see them on the way right now." He gestured, and sure enough, it was just that.

In an attempt to calm herself, he had taken ahold of the parcel. And the record of 'yelling at a Gryffindor' hadn't caused any bell to ring. He would've for sure thought Ronan wouldn't make that type of noise, considering the Slytherin and Gryffindor rivalry.

But as Romulus' letter had fallen onto Aurora's desk, she held it up to Rabastan as she couldn't handle another disappointment as of yet.

He pried open the seal and read through the contents quite quickly and sniffled, which caught Aurora's attention in the instant. Why the bloody hell was her husband crying?!

"And...What's his excuse?"

"A damn good one I'm afraid, Potter was yelling at both him and Cara about Black being a relative. McGonagal caught him shoving Potter up against the wall. I don't see any harm, love." Of course he wouldn't, but Aurora had bit her lip in damnation.

Romulus was meant to be watching Harry, not bullying.

Yet when she read the letter herself, she realized that Cara thought of Harry as a good friend. And that had ultimately crumbled as she ran away sobbing after being told 'don't speak to me again,' and that had a fair bit of reasoning for Romulus to step into play.

"Rory, I told him he has full permission to handle situations like this. He hardly roughed the lad up."
"I know. But he's also a Prefect now, he can't be doing that sort of thing. Words are fine."
"Words were not fine at all, we both know Potter has been put on a pedestal and we had to demand to see Dumbledore for hardly five minutes. Give him something to be afraid of."
"I think those children in school have enough to be afraid of. But I agree none the less, haven't you gotten a stern word from either Regulus or Sirius?" She said with a growing smirk and her husband nearly caved.

"Yes, multiple times...I haven't known Romulus to be aggressive, or not enough to warrant a detention. Rory, come now, don't be mad at the boy. He's doing exactly what he's meant to." Rabastan offered, and when Aurora had looked up to her husband—His smile had widened to see Orion returning to his seat in the painting.

"And? How did the meeting go with Scamander?" The room had an offered silence, since Aurora didn't know how to tell her father of what happened.

"That awful?"
"No sir, Romulus got a detention." Rabastan offered and Aurora groaned, she wanted her children to be perfect and by no means were they disrespectful unless prompted.

She would have to wait until the Holiday to truly figure out the reason behind it all.

"I take it he's getting a firm talking to?" Rabastan turned his gaze back down to his wife. He knew where he stood on the matter, but it was ultimately Aurora's decision.

"No. He was defending Cara from a lad in her year, who was blaming her for being related to Sirus."
"Goodness, the whole lot of this generation are snowflakes! What did he do? Curse the damn boy?"

"No, not even a punch to make it better," Rabastan said with a small pout, that would have made his day for sure.

"I'm sure Severus would be happy regardless, and since his detention is in the potions lab it's not really all that much of a punishment...I just hope Cara feels better soon." Now the worry laid on with her daughter, all three of them had their own individual weakness. But it was Cara that she usually feared for the most.

Lorelei managed to endure the endless teasing in being the youngest of the bunch, and Imara was the eldest—Neither of the two had much issue.

It was Cara who is always stuck in the middle.
