Imagine being challenged by Prince Hal
Imagine being challenged by Prince Hal
Being the daughter to the town blacksmith did have it's advantages. Not only was your father always being inundated with requests for weapons and armour from the King, but it also meant that you were able to go into the castle to help him deliver them. Dressing yourself as presentable as you could, you followed the guards as they escorted you into the grand throne room before the king. "My King, I have come to deliver the message that my father has fulfilled your order as requested. Your knights are now equipped with the new weapons", you said, holding yourself up tall, trying to ignore the intimidating presence of the guards stood either side of you. The king glanced up from the scroll he was reading, his cold hollow eyes resting on yours. "Good. Now peasant, be gone from my sight", he spat at you, before resuming his duties. You wanted to shout back at him in anger but felt the guards beside you tense, anticipating your move. You bit your lip, and turned sharply on your heel, and stormed out of the throne room. "The nerve of that man", you cursed under your breath as you made your way quickly down the castle corridors. You were just about to leave when a young gentleman blocked the doorway you wanted to go through. "Now what is a pretty girl like you doing in a place like this", the young gentleman chuckled, grinning at you, leaning against the door. "Leaving, if you'll excuse me", you said to him, trying to slip past, but he put his hand in the way blocking you. "Why in such a rush? A fair maiden such as yourself should only be rushing to one place, and that's into my arms", he chuckled boldly, crossing his arms, standing in front of the door. "Where I go is my business. Who do you think you are to be so ambitious? The only place you'll be rushing to is an early grave", you spat, turning on your heel to find another way out. He grabbed hold of your wrist as you turned, and instinctively your other hand flew to your concealed dagger, drawing it, placing it against the young mans neck. "Let go of me, or it will be the last think you do". "Oh my my, the lady does have a deadly bite", he chuckled, letting go of you. You stepped away from him, lowering your blade but still keeping it pointed towards him. "You will let me pass", you said glaring at him. He smirked, before quickly pulling out his dagger, holding it towards you. "I don't think so. You threaten me, be prepared to be challenged", he chuckled, brushing his brown hair back, adjusting his leather jacket. You smirked, before lunging at him, thrusting with your blade. He did exactly what you expected, parrying your blow aside with his dagger, so you took advantage to slap him. His hand clutched his cheek, letting out a yelp of surprise as you laughed at him. He slashed out at you, and you only just managed to back step away in time, the blade cutting the top of your dress, revealing part of your chest. "That was my best dress!", you shouted at him, throwing yourself at him, your blade raised. He grabbed hold of your hands, spinning you around so your back hit it wall. You attempted to kick him but he pressed himself up against your chest, holding your hands high above your head. "Surender?", he chuckled staring directly into your eyes as you struggled to free yourself. You stopped struggling and smiled at him. "Never", you whispered, before thrusting your head forward, slamming your forehead against his. His other hand grasped your chin firmly as he glared at you, wincing slightly. "Good, I like a feisty woman", he chuckled, before slamming his lips onto yours. "What on earth are you doing!?", the King shouted, causing both of you to flinch and look. He stood at the end of the corridor, looking at both of you, his eyes blazing. "Do I not give you enough rooms in this castle to please your harlots in that you must use my passageways too!", he roared angrily, his face glowing red underneath the crown. The man gave a weak smile to him, still keeping hold of you. "Sorry father", he said guiltily, shrugging his shoulders. "Guards. Escort the blacksmiths daughter out", the King spat, the guards on either side of him now coming towards the both of you. "No. Il show her out", the young man said, roughly grabbing your arm, and dragging you out of the door you had wanted to leave through before, leaving behind a fuming king. "Sorry about my father. But you have quite a skill for a maiden miss?". "Y/N, your highness", you answered weakly, unable to look him in the eye as his grip loosened on you as you both stopped by the castle enterance. "Please Y/N, call me Hal", he chuckled, stroking your cheek, his eyes beaming at yours. He placed the dagger back into your hand and bowed, before turning to leave back into the castle, turning and winking at you as he left. You didn't quite know what to do or say; you'd just been kissed by a Prince.
