II Swordfight II Gilan
Author's Note: Hey Everyone! I'm just happy cause one of my two favorite authors on Wattpad responded to me and read my story. I got feedback from them and this imagine is dedicated to them HeelsAreCute and CascadeFantasy! And thank you for reading this!
***** Your POV*****
I stood beneath the tree enjoying the shade. I watched as the Battleschool students trained. A strand of my Y/H/C fell at my eyes. I blew it aside, it was an uneventful day. I was reading a book on archery that day.
"Hey Y/N! Watch this" A battle student by the name Alda (A/N: Pretend Alda gets a 2nd chance) called. You resist the urge to grit your teeth and kick him where the sun doesn't shine. Alda has been pestering you for two months now. It was irritating, he asked you multiple times to the dance and court. All of which I rejected. Sometimes boys can be dense, can't they? I couldn't help but smile at that thought. Alda ran up to me.
"Hello? Y/N! Watch me beat up these punks I'm better than all of them" Alda grunted happily. I snorted and got right back reading. Alda grabbed my hand and pulled me over to the field. You decide to sit at the base of a tree. On the other side, you see a tall young man who had a sword out and was well, disemboweling a few dozen dummies. He had a level of skill I have never seen before. I squint to get a closer to look at him. I dusted my Y/F/C dress and stood up. Making my way to him. Alda didn't notice this just yet and thank the lords for that. When I was only a few feet away I realized that the man was a ranger. A young one yes but a ranger.
"I thought Ranger's didn't use swords" I spoke letting mock surprise fill my voice.
**** Gilan's POV ****
Gorglog's Beard! That startled me. I whipped around to find a tall and elegant woman with Y/H/C hair that flowed smoothly and Y/E/C eyes that were filled with amusement. How on earth had she snuck up on me?
"Well, I thought people couldn't sneak up on Ranger's" I replied using the same tone, I flashed her one of my trademark grins. She rolled her eyes.
"Y/N!!" I heard a voice screech in an unpleasantly high pitch voice from the other side of the field. I saw her wince.
"Hmm, your name is... Y/N" I told her triumphantly with a cheeky little grin. She laughed which sent butterflies in my stomach on a field trip.
"Where's Halt or Will?" She asked. My mood immediately darkened (This when Halt leaves/got banished to save Will)
"Well, they are.. away.." I replied choosing my words carefully.
"I hope Halt finds Will" Y/N whispered sorrow filling her voice. I looked at her startled.
"How-" I started.
"I knew Halt pretty well, he came to Ma's tavern more than once when he was first assigned to the fief" She explained knowing the question I was going to ask. I saw a tall blonde boy who had a broken nose. Before the incident, there was no question he must have been handsome. He had a good build as well. I saw Y/N give an exasperated and exhausted sigh.
"Who is this guy Y/N?" the boy asked narrowing his eyes suspiciously on me. I saw a pleading cry for help in Y/N's eyes.
"I'm her boyfriend" I announced. I saw Y/N's eyes flare up with surprise. I winked at her and her face dawned with understanding.
"Yep," She said popping the "p". "Sorry Alda he just asked me to the dance and I accepted"
I took a step toward her and put my hand around her waist. The tips of my ears began to redden. I noticed her cheeks burnings as well.
"Fine, I'll challenge you to a duel for Y/N" Alda sneered. "Unless you don't know how to use that" he added gesturing to the sword.
**** Y/N's POV ****
Oh great! yet again I wanted to kick Alda. Women aren't property! It made me absolutely furious. But I'd seen the way Gilan had handled himself with the sword.
"Alright, When?" Gilan asked his had still wrapped around me.
"Right now" Alda replied his voice dripping with venom. Both of them unsheathed their swords and begun to circle each other. Gilan dropped into a defensive crouch and waited for Alda to attack, but Gilan shot forward a thrust that hit Alda. Hard. I couldn't help but smile. Alda who was now on the ground snarled at my reaction. I knew Gilan was toying with him, he could easily end this fight here and now. A ring of battle students and their teachers had gathered to watch this. I felt a tap on my shoulder and was about to punch whoever did it when.
"I truly hope you don't end up punching your best friend" I heard a voice behind me. I grinned, it was Ella she was the daughter of the Horsemaster. Her brown hair cut short and her blue eyes filled with mischief. She was short yes but she made up for it with speed. She looked at the scene and whistled.
"You have two people fighting over you" She replied with a touch of jealousy. I leaned over and whispered what happened to her.
"Well, the Ranger's handsome... I doubt he would help a random person." Ella added. In another minute Gilan was getting bored of the battle, he shot three quick thrusts and unarmed Alda. The spectators clapped.
"Well, Gilan your father would be proud! Still haven't lost your edge ey?" Sir Rodney asked. The crowd cleared the way for the Battlemaster to enter. Alda looked confused.
"Alda my boy your lucky Gilan even agreed to spar you" Sir Rodney continued. Alda started to have some relation with a tomato.
"He is the son of Sir David that itself means he is not only good but great at swordsmanship and to top it off the trained with MacNeil himself!" Sir Rodney started. But Gilan interrupted him.
"I think that's enough Sir Rodney I have uhm.. go feed my horse," Gilan said dashing for his horse. His horse's big brown eyes filled with confusion it seemed to shake his mane like: I'm not hungry. I stifled a laugh. The crowd began to walk off doing their work.
"Handsome, Skilled, Noble, and Modest. He's a good catch" Ella told me with a wink. I ignored her and walked up to him.
"Gilan you bear some strange similarities with a tomato," I told him tilting my head ever so slightly. He gave me a withering look. He coughed. I brushed his horse. He coughed again.
"Are you sick?" I asked him. He chuckled. "What is her name?"
"Blaze" He replied petting her muzzle. The horse looked at me as though to say: Finally, someone appreciates me!
"Sooo" He started. I raised my eyebrow. He coughed again.
"I'm starting to think you need the medic" I replied grinning.
"I was wondering..." He continued.
"You were wondering?" I asked.
"You... Uh... Wanna meet up later? Maybe here tomorrow?" He trailed off confused about my expression.
"Are you trying to court me, Gilan Davidson?" I asked with a blank face.
"Maybe" He squeaked out. I smiled at him and leaned forward and pecked him on the cheek. I whistled and walked off.
"She said yes!" A voice echoed across the halls. I smiled at that.
