II 100 Questions II aalniyaparu

Sangamitra's First Point Of View:
I tapped my foot impatiently, as the elevator inched at a tortoise-like pace. After what seemed like an eternity, the door creaked open. Grabbing a clipboard from the front counter I opened the door to the hospital room.
"Hello, I'm your doctor for this appointment." I started nonchalantly, but the words stopped at the tip of my tongue when I saw who my patient was.
Devdutt Padikkal.
"Uhm... I think you're in the wrong room-" I shifted on my feet uncomfortably. Devdutt chuckled, shaking his head with disbelief.
"I'm assuming you recognize me, Sangamitra?" Dev tilted his head and looked at me curiously.
"I.. Um.. I... I don't-" I stuttered unable to form words, partly because he'd started to walk toward me.
"How do you know my name?" I blurted out the nagging thought inside my head.
"Your badge." He pointed out at my shirt, I wanted to hit myself against a wall.
Of course, he could see that!
"Chillax, I'm just here for a check-up." Dev snickered and sat back down, a hint of confidence returned. I breathed a sigh of relief when I didn't blank out, I started to jot down the usual report.
"Anything you feel like you should mention?" I parroted the question I've asked every patient.
"Your cute," Dev smirked and leaned back, I became flustered once more.
"Seriously, not funny." I cleared my throat in an attempt to divert the conversation.
"Do you any medical issues you would like to discuss?" I pressed emphasis on the words: medical issues. He shook his head. I went through my routine check-ups. What I hated was how close we were to each other. I could hear his shallow breaths as I checked his heart rate. He brushed past a strand of my hair that came loose. I jerked away, turning crimson.
"Your good to go." I put the clipboard away, Dev grabbed my wrist before I could leave. Making me flinch.
"Uhm..." I trailed off, turning back around.
"I... Uh... I'm kinda lost, can you help me find the exit?" He looked down sheepishly, I couldn't help but smile.
"Sure," I gestured for him to follow me, I led him away to the elevator.
"It's easier to use the elevator than climb down those dozens of flights of stairs," I informed him when we came inside, I tapped my foot as the elevator began to descend at its usual slow speed. The elevator started to rock back and forth, giving me the scare of a lifetime. I clung to the railing and squeezed my eyes shut. The elevator jerked left, throwing me across the elevator. I felt an arm go around my waist.
I momentarily forgot how to breathe when I saw that there was only a centimeter of space separating Dev and me. To top it off, he had an arm around my waist. I scrambled away turning red.
It isn't every day you get stuck in an elevator with your celeb crush, is it?
"Look's like we're stuck here for a while." Dev started to whistle a tune. The tune was upsetting and sad,
"Wanna play 100 questions?" Dev finished off his melancholy song.
"Sure." I shrugged but kept my distance, knowing I'd turn into a fumbling mess if he came any closer.
"What's your nick-name?" He tapped on the elevator floor.
"Paru." I looked away from him, realizing that I was staring.
"What's your nick-name?" I couldn't come up with a question quickly enough.
"Dev," Devdutt informed me, it was something the whole nation knew.
"What type of house do you live in?" Dev asked casually.
"I share an apartment with someone." I looked at the row of buttons in the elevator, I saw Dev tense up with the corner of my eye
"Are you in a relationship?" He asked, even though it was my turn to ask the question. He looked at me in the eye when he asked that.
"Uhm..." I stuttered unable to answer this question. "I meant I share... the apartment with my best... friend."
"Ah," Dev relaxed.
"You know, I'll ask the questions first." Dev decided after a small silence.
"Ok." I agreed, unable to say anything more than three words without stuttering.
"Do you watch cricket?"
"Yes."
"Are you a fan of Virat Kohli?"
"Yes."
"Are you a doctor?"
"Yes." (A bit confused when he asked this)
"Do consider yourself as shy?"
"Yes."
"Is the sky blue?"
"Yes."
"Are there 11 players in a cricket team?"
"Yes."
"Can I kiss you?"
"Yes-"
Wait... what?
But before I could say anything, He leaned toward me and kissed me. Disabling my ability to move and talk. I broke apart startled.
"Why... You! ... But-" I stuttered, unable to speak.
"You said I could." Dev grinned cheerfully and cheekily.
"Shit." Dev cursed under his breath when he saw me about cry.
This idiot is playing with my feelings-
"Look, I'll admit it. I find you attractive, I'm more the type of being straightforward." Dev raised his hands in defeat.
"I...-" I tried to say: I like you too. "Ilikeyoutoo."
"I could tell." Dev chuckled and scooted closer to me, I moved away.
"You stuttered so badly and turned red within seconds." Dev laughed.
"So... Can I have your number?" He rubbed the back of his neck.
I couldn't help but smile,
"Yes."
