"Niall, what is it that you want to show me?" you ask your boyfriend, giggling. His hands are covering your eyes and you hear him chuckle as he carefully leads you into another room. Finally, he uncovers your eyes and you look to see...his guitar?

"Niall? Your big surprise was your guitar?" You laugh, slightly disappointed. However, your disappointment quickly fades as he sits you down in front of him. He grabs his guitar and begins singing.

One that's beautiful as you are sweet

In just a hint of pain

For the feeling that I get when you are gone

I want to write you a song."

The song goes on for a few more verses as you cover your mouth. He and the boys were writing a new album, but there was one song that they'd been keeping secret from you...until now.

Niall finishes the song and, right as you think he's done with his little surprise, he gets down on one knee. You gasp. He pulls a small black box out of his pocket.

"I love you, Mette, and I want to prove it to you. I'll write you a song, build you a boat, climb the tallest mountains, I don't care. I'll do whatever you want me to do, and I only ask of one thing in return...will you marry me?"

"Oh my—yes, Niall! I will marry you!" you exclaim, wrapping him in a hug and kissing him. He grins against your lips before pulling away and slipping the ring on your finger.

Earlier, you had been wrong.

Niall's gesture wasn't disappointing, not in the slightest.

It was the best surprise you could ever ask for.
