Buddy Holly Imagine for Diellza :)

"I don't know about this, Dee," Buddy says nervously as he paces back and forth, waiting for his band to be called onto the Ed Sullivan Show.

"You'll do fine, Buddy!" You smile as you try to cheer him up, rubbing his arm. "The people watching will love you, I promise."

"B-But it's my first time and you know all the big names perform on this show. Even Elvis! What if I mess up and I'm not as good?" Buddy frets, continuing to pace. Joseph and Ivan didn't seem nearly as nervous and watch silently as you try to calm your boyfriend down.

"You'll do perfectly, Buddy," you try to comfort him.

"But-"

"Hey," you grab Buddy by the arm and turn him to face you. He towered over you with his height, but you don't let that stop you as you reach on tiptoe to wrap your arms around his neck. "If Ed didn't think you were good, he wouldn't have asked you to perform on the show. Would he?"

"W-Well no, I guess not, but-"

"But nothing," you interrupt him, before pulling him closer for a kiss. You feel him smile slightly against your lips before you pull away, looking him in the eye. "You'll do fine. And if Ed doesn't like it, well, that's his own damn problem."

Buddy chuckles a bit and you grin as you see the smile you felt grace his lips. "I hope you're right, Diellza," he says.

"Aren't I always?"

"Shush," he chuckles. You smile at him right as Ed announces the band.

"Go crush 'em!" You exclaim, pushing him towards the stage. Buddy grins as he and the others make their way on stage, Buddy immediately singing the intro to That'll Be The Day.

You watch the entire performance from the sidelines, grinning from ear to ear as Buddy sings through the entire song. He doesn't falter once and once the song is over, he immediately comes running for you. He picks you up and spins you around, causing a squeal to escape your lips.

"I did it Dee, I did it!" Buddy exclaims, laughing, and feeling proud of himself. You smile at him as he sets you down and brings you in for a kiss. You respond eagerly for a few moments before pulling back and kissing him on the cheek.

"See? I knew you could do it."
