#54
So, I just feel great! I, like, have this feeling that I get when we move (which happens a lot), and I just feel so excited. Oh, and I learned some new Australian vocabulary. Apparently, Cozzie=swimsuit, Hooroo=goodbye, and Maccas=Mcdonalds. Interesting. Not as good as I wanted it to be. Enjoy!
IMAGINE YOURSELF...
Rushing into your apartment, kicking off your shoes and running to your room. You jumped on the bed, pulled out your laptop and panted with dread. Please don't tell me I missed it! Please, no no no no!
You typed in few letters and struggled to keep your hands from shaking. Your heart pumped at an unhealthy fast rate and you were breathing quickly.
Your features relaxed, your hands, your shoulders, and you sighed. You leaned your head against the backboard of the queen sized bed thanking the Lord for your quickness.
Your laptop suddenly made the familiar ringing sound and you found yourself smiling as you clicked on the 'accept' button. His face flashed on the screen and he appeared with a large grin.
"Hey, Babe," you still blushed when he called you that but you nodded.
"Hey, sorry I was late, I had to work late, then Daryl (your boss) needed to talk with me, then the car wouldn't start..." You rambled on and didn't notice the smile on his face.
"You're so cute when you ramble." You found yourself blushing by also staring at the computer screen, wishing you could just reach in and touch him. You huffed over exaggeratedly and mocked hurt.
"Are you saying I'm not cute all the time?" He laughed and you ended laughing too. His laughing died down and he smirked.
"Are you excited?" You raised an eyebrow.
"For what?" He gasped.
"You don't remember?" You shook your head and he sighed. "Tomorrow, I'm-" his voice was cutoff by another voice behind the screen.
"Just shut up and go to sleep already!" The person, who he was rooming with, groaned and he sighed.
"Look, babe," he whispered, his voice so soft and fragile, it was almost like glass. "I love you, and I'll see you tomorrow." You nodded feeling the pain in your heart that you did every time that he was about to turn off the Skype video.
"I love you too." You whispered back seeing a smile grow on his face. He then kissed his fingers and pressed them to his heart meaning he loved you and you did the same.
He turned off the camera and you just sat there for a few seconds. You remembered his smile, his laughed, and the way his lips felt against yours.
Seeing as it was only seven o'clock where you were at, you grabbed the phone to order pizza. You gave the guy on the phone all the information and then waited.
It didn't take long before you heard your Doorbell ring. You walked over to the door and opened it to see a young male, a little younger than you. He smirked as he looked at you up and down, Leaving you, to feel disgusted
"That would be $12.99 and your number please." You sighed.
"I'm engaged." You wiggled your ring finger while showing off the ring that your lover had gotten you nine months ago when he had gotten two weeks off to visit you.
The boy blushed, embarrassed, and handed you the pizza box. You signed the receipt(leaving a one cent tip), and handed him the cash. He nodded and left without another word.
Two hours later, you laid flat on your bed, your mind still racing from what your fiancée had said before.
What was happening? What was he doing tomorrow? Why is his roommate so rude?
Your stomach suddenly filled with butterflies, your heart rate picked up, and a loud squeal left your mouth. You remembered what he was talking about and knew you were getting no sleep that night.
He was coming back.
The next morning
You looked in the mirror one last time, evaluating yourself making sure you looked perfect. You were wearing the dress he had bought you a year ago that flattered you perfectly. The thing was, it wasn't a tight or revealing dress like you thought he was going to buy you. It perfectly sensible, stopping right above the knee.
You also had on some mayching accessories and makeup to match along.
*Time skip brought to you by the rude roommate*
You atood at the gate, along with other families and people, waiting for the loved ones to arrive.
You tapped nervously on your wrist while breathing deeply in. You looked around at the other ones around you. They were holding signs and presents,
Was I supposed to bring something? Oh, great! I'm the worst fiancée ever!
Your breath caught in your throat thinking that he would be angry at you, but that wasn't him. He wouldn't get angry over a simple thing like that. But it still bugged you.
You shifted from foot to foot feeling a little anxious if why he still wasn't here. Your mind traveled to places they shouldn't have gone.
Did he miss his plane? Did he die? Did his plane crash? Wait - no, they said it had just landed a few minutes ago...where is he?
You found yourself getting even more worried and you sicker in a breath. Your eyes started to sting a little and your head was doing flips. But you were brought out of all of that by a gasp. You looked up and noticed that some one had come out of the gate.
It wasn't him but you knew that they were here.
Out, one by one, came men and women holding their bags and wearing their marine uniforms. And even though they kept coming out, you couldn't find the recognizable lad.
The last person came through the gates and it wasn't him. You found yourself wiping the years from your cheeks and turning away from the gates. You tried not to meet anyone's eyes as you began to walk away.
"(Y/n)!" A voice called behind you. The same voice that said 'will you go out with me', the same voice that said 'I love you', the same voice that said 'will you marry me' and the same voice that made your heart melt today. You turned around feeling even more tears fall from your eyes.
Time seemed to stop. Everything seemed to stop and it felt like nothing and no one else was in the world was in the world except for you two.
He dropped his bags at his sides as you ran to him. You hugged him.
He wrapped his arms around you. The feeling that you missed for thirteen months. You hugged him tighter letting the years of joy escape your eyes.
"I missed you." You heard him say.
"I missed you too." He slightly pulled away to look in your eyes. He leaned down slowly and kissed you.
It was the best feeling ever. To finally be reunited with the one you loved. He pulled away.
"I love you." He whispered.
"I love you too." And you cried even more. You could hear him chuckle as he wiped you tears away.
"Why are you crying?"
"I feel so horrible." A look of concern spread across his face.
"Why?"
"Because I didn't bring you a present or anything." He chuckled as if he knew something that you didn't.
"You, the one I love most, is the best present I could ever ask for."
