Imagine that Person A and Person B are actors. (specifically Broadway actors) Person A has to sing and act a really sad moment about their character and totally starts crying, not just for effect, but because they just got really into the part and started crying while singing. When A goes backstage, Person B just hugs when and comforts them, even if it was all an act.
