synopsis.

Tempest Thatcher loathed almost everything about herself. From her ridiculous name her mother insisted was associated with stormy weather rather than the comedic Shakespeare play to the fact that she was the least achieved of her siblings; she wished she could've been a little more normal. Well, normal enough for a teenage witch. After the messy divorce of her parents and the constant feeling of being unintentionally pushed aside by the rest of her family, the only place she felt acknowledged was at Hogwarts, the school of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

During the long summer days that bled into weeks, she longed to return to what she thought of as her home. She didn't want to be in an environment where she had to pick up a new double barrelled last name to honour both her split parents, or listen to what accomplishments her star siblings had attained. She wanted to play Quidditch and joke around with her best friends, parade around in her gold and scarlet uniform and feel as if she was on top of the world.

Though whatever she hoped to find at Hogwarts wouldn't last forever. With the end of her schooling fast approaching and the Dark Lord on the rise, Tempest would have to realise that maybe her irritating name wasn't the biggest problem on her plate.
