Not Even Close (Romanoff/Maximoff x reader)

Poly relationship

"I'm telling you, Nat and Clint are together," Sam urged, "look at 'em. There's no way that two people who spend as much time together as they do haven't bumped uglies."

"Jesus," Tony coughed, spitting his morning coffee across the kitchen table, with a good amount of it spraying all over Steve. He stood quickly and crossed the room to grab a towel, hurrying to wipe the liquid from his white button down shirt before the color could set in. "You can't say shit like that when my mouth's full."

"Mind if I get one too?" Steve huffed with a hand held high, readily grabbing a fresh towel when Tony threw it his way. "Sorry to kill your joy, Sam, but they're not together."

"How do you know?"

"I know who she's dating."

Tony's ears perked up at the admission as well as the realization that even he didn't know that, and he felt like he had a pretty decent knowledge of the team and what each of them were up to. He had quickly all but forgotten about the stain on his shirt and tossed the towel aside, leaning against the cabinets and returning to the cup in his hand. "Alright, so let's have it."

"Not at liberty to say."

"Oh, no, no, no, Cap," Tony pressed on, "none of that tight-lipped garbage, you spill it right now."

"You could just ask," Steve sighed, "it's not a secret. It's just not my place to say." He finished wiping the last few drops of coffee that Tony had spit all over him, throwing the towel back to his teammate with a smirk, but not offering any more to keep them satisfied. Both of his friends simply stared at him eagerly, hoping for him to give them even just a hint, but the Captain held firm in his resolve. "Of course, there are other ways for you idiots to find out."

"I'm in," Tony jumped forward, this time spilling his coffee on his pant leg when it sloshed around and over the lip of his cup. "Dammit," he groaned, wiping it away with his hand, "oh well, I didn't want to go to the office today anyway."

"Tony, I didn't even say what to do yet."

"Don't care. I'm in."

"Hey, fellas," you greeted with a wide smile, "looks pretty heavy in here. What's the topic this morning? Alien Invasion? Some new and exciting type of global destruction?"

"I was just gloating that I know who Nat's dating and they don't," he smiled, giving you a quick wink that escaped the other two. "They thought it was Barton."

"Barton!" you laughed, almost too emphatically. "Wow, that's a stretch! I don't see that at all!"

"Are you serious?" Sam joined in. "They're always together and hanging all over each other."

"They're friends, Sam. Just because a man and a woman are close, it doesn't mean it's more than that. Men and woman can be friends. For example," you stopped, taking a few steps towards Steve. You put a gentle hand on his shoulder to get him to turn his chair towards you so that you could sit sideways on his lap, your arm lazily around his neck and draping your legs over his while you continued the discussion. "Does sitting on Steve's lap automatically mean that he's giving me the old slap and tickle?"

"Not sitting like that," Tony offered, cocking his head to the side as he considered the options. "You should turn to face forward and back up a little."

"Alright, that's just great. Point ruined, Tony," you snapped, quickly standing with a silent apology to a flush-faced Captain. "Anyway, I know who she's dating too. So does Wanda." Giving Tony a playful slap on his arm and a petulant poke of your tongue, you made your way out with the full intention of talking to Nat and Wanda about this situation and how you could keep him and the others off the trail a little longer.

"Hundred bucks says she's the one dating Clint and covering it up," Tony offered as soon as you were out the door. "She reacted too easily when we said it was Nat."

"I'll take that bet," Sam eagerly stood, his hands scrounging around in his pockets until he came up with the funds. Steve threw his hands up in defeat, shocked that Sam would partake in a bet that could just be easily settled by asking the question, but now he couldn't help but be a little curious to see who Sam would choose.

"Okay, Sam, who do you think it is?"

Sam leaned forward against the table, staring at his friend intently with a glimmer of hope in his eyes as he spoke, "honestly, Cap, I think it's you, and her little friend there just gave us a fantastic cover-up performance."

"Wow," Steve groaned with a rub of his hand over his eyes, "you guys really are clueless."

Steve was the only teammate who knew that you, Wanda and Nat were together, and up to this point he had been remarkable in keeping it to himself. Even he wouldn't have known if not for a mission that had separated the three of you, making your panic unmistakable and giving away your true feelings for the two women.

It wasn't that you were so intent on keeping it a secret, but you believed that your relationship wasn't the topic for anyone's conversation and no one had ever pushed any of you until now. In an effort to get Nat to slip up and give away the answer to their bet, which had now grown exponentially as more and more teammates heard about it, Tony had set up a team game night with one activity in mind.

"Spin the bottle, Tony? How old are you?" Nat grimaced, scooping up the empty beer bottle from the floor to give it a closer inspection.

"I'm as young as you need me to be, sweetheart. Why? Is there some reason that would keep you from joining us? Guilt, maybe?" he prodded. "A sense of inappropriateness? Possessiveness even?"

"Don't know what you're talking about," she lied, "let's go, Stark. On your knees."

"Yes! Now it's a party," he laughed with an excited clap of his hands. "Get in the circle, everyone. Things are about to get weird."

Taking your seat between Natasha and Tony, you leaned over to him as he reached out to take the first spin, lowering your voice and pressing your lips to his ear with a gentle graze that caused a shiver in him that made the bottle shake under his hand. "Looking forward to it," you whispered before returning to your seat to watch.

"You're terrible," Nat said with a shoulder nudge and a smile, "that's why I love you."

The bottle left Tony's fingers and spun towards its first target, slowing against the carpet of the lounge floor until it came to a halt with it neck pointing directly at karma.

"Tony has to kiss Steve!" you squealed in delight. "I knew it!"

"I am not kissing Steve!"

"Hey, now, Stark," you scolded, "before we sat down you said that there were no passes. Now get your lips over there, lover boy."

"Fine," he grumbled, crawling slowly across the circle towards a wide-eyed Captain who looked as if he had never seen such terror before. When he reached his goal it felt like time had stopped and this moment would never be over; his head tipped and bobbed uncomfortably, trying to figure out how to do this with the least amount of pain and coming up with nothing that sounded even remotely tolerable. "Cheek," he commanded, waiting for Steve to turn his head enough to finally place the kiss that barely even made contact.

"Awww," Wanda cooed, "we can all say we were there for their first one."

"Shut up," Tony barked, wiping his lips on his sleeve. "Rogers, spin the damn thing. Worst idea of my life," he continued under his breath, "shoulda known."

"If this lands on Stark, I'm leaving," Steve groaned, giving the bottle a push. "Oh," he smiled when it stopped, "Wanda." When she smiled back, he felt safe to proceed and leaned in, aiming for her cheek too, but at the last second she turned her head and connected with his lips, much to the delight and cheers of the group. His eyes darted to you and Nat for a split second before sitting back down with a nervous chuckle, "Wanda...um...your turn..."

She eagerly took her turn, sighing pleasantly as the bottle landed in your direction. "Come to me, love," she smiled gently, holding out her hand that you readily took as you inched forward to her. You could have heard a pin drop at your kiss, slow and deliberate, knowing exactly what you were doing in front of everyone as they watched.

"Ugh, okay..." Sam broke in with a cracking high-pitched cough, and an uncomfortable shift as he still couldn't look away "...(Y/N), it's your spin."

"Mmm hmm." Releasing her to take your turn, you felt Natasha's hand on your leg, barely making contact, but enough to know that she was feeling a bit jealous of your kiss with Wanda and wanting her own. Your hand rested on the glass bottle hesitantly, silently wishing to yourself that it would land on Nat, but when you gave it a spin and sent it towards its target, you simply smiled and gave Sam a look of determination to make this memorable for him.

"Oh shit," he murmured, his hands nervously rubbing on the tops of his legs until they stung from the friction. When you had crossed the space between you and were now kneeling in front of him, he steeled his nerves and straightened himself, awkwardly reaching out to rest his hands on your waist. "Okay, okay, let's uh...let's do this..."

"Don't be nervous. I only nibble," you teased, seeing a hint of excitement in his eyes before they closed as your lips met his. To add to your determination to throw the group off from your secret, you laced your fingers around the back of his neck and deepened the kiss, surprising even yourself at how easy it was to do. Sam didn't hesitate to respond to your touch, pulling himself up to kneel with you and wrapping his arms around you fully to pull you against him; you could feel his heart pounding against his chest and echoing into yours.

"We get the point," Nat said flatly, "break it up."

The next spin of the bottle paired Nat and Clint, then Sam and Nat, Wanda and Sam, you and Tony and then you and Steve. The next three spins would push Tony and Steve together each time, until finally when a fourth landed again in the same place, it was decided enthusiastically by the pair that the game was over.

It may have been over for the group, but it wasn't even close for one; Natasha had waited and waited and had yet to get the one thing she wanted more than anything. She watched three men kiss you knowing that none of them knew you like she did, and that none of them had made you feel anything like what she could.

"We aren't done," she growled, her hand wrapping around your arm and pulling you to her with a force that caught her off balance and toppled you both to the ground. She flipped you onto your back with flawless reflexes, pinning your arms up and over your head to leave you at her mercy. The group watched in shocked silence, but to the two of you, there was no one else there. The usual soft caress of her lips was almost angry now, primal in their need to show dominance; her tongue took control over yours and silenced the moan building in your throat at this forceful side of her.

She slowly came back into her own senses, feeling finally satiated and her need calmed, she pulled back and rested her forehead against yours; her breathing fell into rhythm with your own and she took the perfect moment to just listen as it soothed her.

"It's you," Tony gasped, "you and her. No way would I have guessed...that was...wow."

"Took you long enough," Steve retorted, "but it's this one too." He pointed at Wanda, though she didn't acknowledge him; her eyes and focus were for you and Nat only.

"Are you serious?"

"Do they look like I'm joking?"

"Come on Tony," Clint joined in, "don't worry! You and Cap will get there some day. From what I saw, you're off to a good start!"

"That's not funny."

"Well, it's a little funny," Steve smirked. "Don't be such a baby."

"I'm not being a baby, you are," he snapped back.

"Oooooh, good one. Top of your game, Tony."

Sam stood up in the center of the group, his hands up to try to calm the duo and get their attention, "don't fight guys. Just kiss and make up. Probably would have saved us all a hell of a lot of trouble if you'd have tried that after your last bout."

Steve nodded knowingly, turning to Tony to see that he agreed with the assessment of how bad their fight was, but when both men thought they were agreeing on the making up part, they quickly stilled.

"Don't you dare think about it, Rogers."

"I'm not," Steve startled, but silenced quickly as he decided maybe he would have a little fun with the guy; it wasn't like he didn't deserve it. "But...if it would help..."

"No."

"Come on, Tone, we're practically to second base already. And you're really good at it." Steve stood up to approach his friend, but Tony shot up onto his feet and began to back away with a sheer panic in his eyes and his hands out to keep Steve back. His feet tripped over one of the small ottomans but he caught himself before he could fall, breathing a tense sigh of relief that he was still able to get away.

"Please tell me someone is getting this," Sam whispered to the group as he stood motionless.

"On it," you replied, leaning back against Natasha with your phone aimed at the scene as is played out in all of its glory.

"Steve...not funny..." Tony warned, "keep your lips over there." When Steve took a few more long strides towards him, Tony decided that it was time for rapid action, spinning on his heel and breaking into a sprint across the lounge and to the nearest elevator, cursing to himself when the lift wasn't arriving fast enough.

"Go get 'em, tiger."

"Thanks, (Y/N)," he winked back, turning to give chase. "That's right, Tony," he called out after him, "you know how I love it when you play hard to get!"
