Cashmere
In the enormity of this universe, there are magical accidents that crave their way through ordinary passages of mundane routine of life as if splinters of glitter reveal themselves in ordinary sand or a pure white pearl peeks out of a seashell or a tiny infinity captures your heart in a single moment that makes you forget the greater infinities of life. Such was the infinity of those grey eyes. Such was the purity of that heavenly fragrance. Such was the magical accident of HIM in my life. Roxen Dale. I shall not forgive you for this infinity in a finite moment. For I know, "WE" are nobody in reality. Damn reality.
"Hey, you look like Loala in Bugs Bunny baby. Is everythin' a'right?"
"Uh..what?"
I looked at Marrie Swans with a dumb-founded expression. Marrie Swans! An early Marrie Swans! OMG!
"Oh my God! How come you here this early in the morning??" I exclaimed.
"Don't turn the tables, Haze. Tell me what happened to you. Are you okay? You seem kind of hysterical." She giggled.
Marrie Swans. She is my friend since four months. She's a happy-go-lucky girl. I like her. She never backs off and always supports me. I accept her as she is, a foodie, a cheerful and lovely brunette with shoulder length hair cut in layers. She has dark brown eyes and a pale complexion like me. But she's 5'6. Two inches above me. So, I accept her for who she is except for her war with punctuality. I hate it. But she always laughs it off. And I always roll my eyes at it.
"It's nothin', Marrie. Just a row with a new comer. A bully." I sighed.
"Don't tell me someone bullied you! I'm gonna kill him...her? Whatsoever!" Her over-protective side plunged its way out.
"No. No. Listen. It's a HE. Okay? Besides, I don't care enough. So let it go." I pacified her.
"You can always count on me fella. Never forget." She winked. We laughed.
Our laughter was interrupted by the entrance of the professor. So we took our seats and the day began. For the rest of the day, there was no view of Roxen and his so called business with me. Thankfully. If there's no reality to it, I don't want to go deeper into this stuff with him. After all, who I am to him? He doesn't even know my name! ...My name?? Wait a sec'. He called me what? Miss Claire? Oh...
This was the confusion that held me throughout the day. He knows my name. He knows my name. Repeat. He knows my name. But.
-He doesn't know me.-
What a pity. A catastrophe in my galaxy. A blessing on his planet. For he would never want to get stuck with a girl like me who lives in her "Dream Clouds". Huh.
On my way back, I took the bus and walked home from the bus stop that's two minutes from my home. On reaching the door, I was fumbling for the keys in my bag when I spotted the envelope on my doorstep. Again? A stupid joke this must be! I picked it up in frustration, tore it open and pulled out the same chit of paper.
I sat down on the front door steps to read it as it seemed kind of longer than "MISS CLAIRE, I SEE YOU." from the morning to which I didn't pay much heed and fooled for a neighborhood prank. It said,
" I am glad to know that the color of our love is in cashmere. Crayola taupe. Honey grey. Name it whatever you want. But there it is. You cannot deny it. One day, you'll fall for it. Cashmere. Do not forget. Because,
MISS CLAIRE, I DISCOVERED YOU."
Cashmere? Love? L.O.V.E love? Our love? What's this!! Someone's ragging me. The stupid boys from the neighborhood. I'll kill them! Huh. Stamping the steps, I reached the front door and fumbled for the key in my bag. Inserting the key I turned the door knob but........
......it was already unlocked?
Confused..I stepped into the dark of my home and fumbled for the switch board.
"Welcome home."
A deep enchanting voice caught me in the middle of my steps. I gasped. No. This can't be true...
With supernatural speed, the door closed behind me leaving me in complete darkness. Black. The color of mystery. And evil.
My feet were glued to the floor. I couldn't move. It was as if somebody had casted a spell on me. A beautiful fragrance devoured me completely. A very familiarly unknown scent.
"Wh-who are you?" I stammered the words in a whisper.
Suddenly, I was knocked to the wall behind me, the intruder's weight pressing upon me, his lips close to my ear, almost kissing them, he whispered,
"If you recall, we have business to deal with, Miss Claire."
....and i saw a gleam of silver. Grey in black. His eyes.
