chapter five
Jezelle
Today was a beautiful day so I decided to take a walk in the park. I chose to wear some boot-cut jeans, a flowy red shirt with flowers on it, and some black flats. The park wasn't to crowded which I was glad about. I wasn't walking for to long when I spotted a girl about my age sitting on a bench in tears. Seeing people cry always made me want to do something so I walked over to her and sat down beside the girl.
"What's wrong?" I said softly.
"Why would you care? I don't even know you!" The girl said angrily.
"I care because people matter to me and I can tell that you need a friend right now." I said sincerely.
Those words made her cry even harder
"What's your name?" I asked her.
"M, my name's Lucy." She stammered.
"Do you need anything?" I said.
"No, it's my sister. She just died." She said before bursting into tears again.
"Oh, I am so sorry!" I said sympathetically, giving her a hug.
"Why are you being so nice to me?" Lucy asked me.
"Because Jesus was so nice, that he died for me." Jezelle said sincerely.
"Thank you so much!" Lucy said.
I gave her an encouraging smile. Just then, a perfect idea came to my mind. I knew who Caleb's next blind date was going to be!
"Hey! Do you know what would make you feel better!" I laughed.
"What?" Lucy said confused.
"Going on a date with the funniest person that I know, my best friend!" I said joyfully.
