Sonic's P.O.V.
"How is he?"

"He's fine... But he's very weak. We have to take him out if here."

"But what about-"

"He's dead. It's over..."

"But-"

"Tails."

"...Fine..."

I woke up feeling heartbroken, numb, weak. My didn't want to open my eyes, I wished the jackal would come and kill me already, just like he did with Shadow, this way I could be with him again.

"He's not dead." I opened my eyes quickly when I heard a soft girly voice. I was in space, I wasn't in pain anymore and my bandages were gone.

"W-who's there?" I looked at around, I couldn't see anyone.

"It's me. Maria." I heard the voice from behind me, I quickly look behind me and lowered my ears.

"M-Maria!?" I moved back, shocked that Maria was in front of me. She looked just like the photos Shadow had shown me. "B-but... How...?"

"Shadow's not dead Sonic. He's going to be fine, the doctors managed to bring him back to life, but he's in a coma." Maria smiled softly at me and wiped my tears. I couldn't hold them back, I wanted Shadow back.

"Will he be okay?" I asked and dropped my ears.

"No one knows yet. He's very weak, he needs you." She said softly and hugged me, I slowly hugged back and sobbed, I needed a hug, but from Shadow. I really really missed him, I regret throwing the ring at him, I regret saying all these things to him.

"I have to go. Please take care of Shadow for me." She said after she pulled away from the hug and smiled softly at me. "He loves you."

I pinned my ears on my head as she said that and slowly nodded. "I-I promise..."

She nodded and kissed my forehead then disappeared, making the pain slowly come back.

I opened my eyes and gasped. I was in a room I didn't know, everything was white, the walls had holes on them, they looked like gun shots, I instantly panicked and tried to sit up, but I couldn't. "T-Tails!" I shouted weakly and coughed, my voice was raspy and my throat hurt a lot.

"Sonic! You're awake!" Tails ran to me and hugged me tightly.

I groaned quietly and tried to hug back but couldn't. "W-where are we...? And why am I unable to move...?" I said lowly, my throat hurting more every word I said.

"We... We are in the Ark... Mephiles brought us here..." He said and looked down after he pulled away. "You can't move because you wasted way too much energy."

I dropped my ears and tried to sit up. "Where's Shadow?" I asked as tears appeared in my eyes.

"Sonic... He's... De-" He dropped his ears and tried to calm me down, but I cut him off.

"NO! He's not dead! I must go to him! He needs me!" I snapped at Tails and sat up then unplugged everything.

"No! Sonic!" He pushed me down and plugged everything back. "We're not leaving until you get better!" He said sternly and glared lightly at me.

"But-" I tried to move but he held me down

"I said something!" He said a little louder. He was probably scared that he lost me, so I gave in knowing he wouldn't let me leave.

"Fine... But promise me something..." I looked at him with a begging and hurt expression. "Take me back immediately after I get better."

Tails lowered his ears and sighed then slowly nodded. "I promise... Get some rest and you'll get better quickly." He told me and I nodded then closed my eyes, I fell asleep quickly, since I was really tired.

I hope I'm not too late.
