♯ ❝HAVE I HIT A NERVE❞
⋆⋅ ━━━━ ‧ ༻✩༺ ‧ ━━━━ ⋅⋆

IT WAS QUIET THE NEXT MORNING AS THE GROUP AWAITED the cops that surely would be on their doorsteps after the stunt they pulled last night. Everyone was minding their own business, silently preparing for the day and grabbing the last moments of peace they could get. Daniel was shuffling his deck of cards in front of the large window wall, staring out it and to the city below them, Merrit was lazily reading a book on the couch and Jack was lounging in a chair while both Henley and Wren were nowhere to be seen.

They all knew what was about to happen next. The FBI would soon be on their doorstep to question them about the robbery.

Wren finally appeared from her room and came down the stairs letting Henley finish packing their bags, knowing it would ease the redhead's nerves if she was alone.

"It is taking them rather long." She stated as she made her way to the coffee machine, grabbing a large mug from the cabinet. "Kinda bad, it's taking so long."

Just as her coffee was finished and she was able to take her first sip, the FBI stormed in guns pointed and frantic agents came rushing inside the room.

"FBI! Hands where I can see them!"

None of the horsemen moved even an inch as they ignored the intruders and continued what they were doing. Wren took a sip from her steaming coffee cup her eyes darting between each individual agent.

"Hands up!"

"Uno minuto." Merrit said pointing a finger in the air as Jack lazily raised his hands half the way up with a lopsided smile on his face.

Wren put one of her hands in the air while the other remained on her purple mug as she carefully sipped her steaming beverage. It didn't take long before Daniel also put his hands in the air.

"Put the book down."

Merrit sighed dropping the book on his chest in annoyance before raising his hands eventually. "Okay, you got me."

Henley finally made an appearance, coming down the stairs with her traveling bags on her arms and a relieved smile on her face when she noticed the FBI inside their hotel room.

"Freeze! Hands in the air."

"Do one of you guys mind giving us a hand with our bags." She nodded her head towards their luggage as she smiled innocently at the agents pointing guns at her.

They all were escorted outside, many FBI agents surrounded them with their luggage. A crowd had formed and they all were cheering them on.

Most people would freak out if they were being held by the FBI for an investigation and Wren Walsh wouldn't lie and say she wasn't. But the brunette also knew how to keep her cool and she didn't show she was anxious as she neatly folded her hands together while the handcuffs around her wrist remained cutting slightly in her skin.

Each magician was consecutively dumped into small interview rooms next to one another. A small grey table and three chairs occupied the room alongside chained handcuffs that were bolted through the floor and threaded up through the metal table. The last part to the room was a one way mirror which allowed the five magicians to be watched from outside.

After ten or so minutes it became clear to the brunette that she was not the first to be interviewed and she could only hope it was Daniel or Merrit to be first. The poor agents wouldn't know what hit them.

with a sigh she rested her head on the table and she was out in minute.

"Wren Walsh!" Someone slammed a hand on the table startling the young woman awake.

Wren looked up through half closed eyes to see Agent Rhodes standing in front of her with his counterpart Alma Dray.

"You've got any coffee?" She asked lazily before yawning and leaning back in the rather uncomfortable metal chair.

They didn't answer her and took a seat opposite from her instead. "Okay, but I tell you now. I am not a happy person when I don't have coffee after I wake up."  She grumbled in defeat.

The two agents remained quiet and Wren took that as an opportunity to study them. while Agent Dray looked calm and collected Agent Rhodes looked like he was about to throw a hissy fit. They make a pretty good romcom cop duo. She laughed quietly at the idea.

"I'm guessing you talked to Daniel or Merrit first." The brunette said making sure the tense atmosphere was known to the two agents.

"Both actually." Alma answered politely.

Dylan Rhodes began with reading the basic facts from her file. Name, age, background. Gaining no reaction from the brunette woman who nonchalantly stared between the two.

"I looked into your childhood." He began, getting deeper into her file "You're from one of the most poor districts in New York. You lived with your father, mother and younger brother." He read out loud, studying her every movement.

Wren nodded. "Great job. I didn't know that." She told him in a monotone voice staring at the curly haired man in boredom.

"How is it that a little girl grew up to be a criminal?" Rhodes asked. "No good home life? Is that what turned you to crime. Just because you didn't have money as a kid doesn't give you the right to steal it now so why would you rob a bank?"

Wren shook her head. "Oh my childhood was far from perfect but it was a happy one, agent." She stated. "You know my dad he always made me and my little brother smile on the darkest days." She gave the man an innocent smile. "He loved magic tricks and he always showed us all kind of tricks. It is because of him I'm a magician now-"

Dylan interrupted her quickly. "We don't need your life story." He snapped, eyes narrowed and his posture tense as he stared her down.

"You began with my childhood. I just filled in the missing parts." She smirked as she was getting Dylan worked up.

"How'd you steal the money." He asked, an intense stare burning on the side of her head as she turned to agent Dray instead.

Wren tilted her head. "It's really simple actually." She grinned as both agents watched her closely.

"Magic." She whispered with a smile.

"This is no joking matter." Rhodes glared at her.

"You can't make a case against us." Wren grinned. "You have no prove. It will make you the laughing stock of the country."

"We will figure it out." Dylan replied swiftly.

"You know going back to my childhood there was one thing my father always told me. Do you want to know what it was?" She questioned stopping the two agents from stepping outside the room.

"If you focus too closely, you'll get a blurry picture." She grinned "So don't look too close Agent Rhodes."

Without a second glance agent Rhodes stormed outside while Agent Dray slowly followed behind closing the door.

Wren grinned at the camera in the corner of the room.

"Have I hit a nerve?"
