WREN SAT IN OF THE TAXI, ANXIOUSLY BITING HER LIP, HER PHONE IN HAND AS SHE FLICKED HER EYES UP TO LOOK AT DANIEL, WHO WAS SITTING IN the front of the car . Each one of them had a job to do within all of this and if the brunette was honest the plan was plain stupid, so stupid she wouldn't be surprised if everything would come crashing down around them. But it was also so fucked up crazy it might actually work out.
Her eyes flickered back to her phone screen not keen on ruining their plan by not doing her part of the job. Wren was the one keeping track of Jack's car as he raced down the street Henley was in a van filled with dummies the same was with Merrit only he was in a yellow school bus.
Wren glanced outside the window, Jack was racing down the streets the cops hot on his tail and nerves filled her system as she watched the youngest horseman pass them.
"Everyone ready? Can you all hear me?" She asked leaning forward resting her elbows on her knees, waiting from a response from her friends.
"Loud and clear."
"Hearing you, Walsh."
Wren grinned, her gaze averting to the front of the car to focus on Daniel. "Ready?" She asked.
Daniel nodded his grip on the steering wheel tightening "Ready."
"Alright, plan is in action." The brunette announced loudly.
Wren's eyes were glued to Jack's car, following his every move on her phone as the red dot moves at a high speed over the bridge, Alma and Dylan were close behind him.
"Come on, Jack." She whispered to herself.
"Focus on the bridge. Jack is less than a mile away." She informed looking down at her phone, biting her lip nervously
It was time for the distraction.
"Hold on." Daniel warned the brunette quickly, swerving to the left to block Dray from passing them.
Wren grabbed a hold of the seat in front of her as the cab pulled in another lane after Jack passed them.
Wren grinned as Rhodes and Dray were now stuck behind them. She grinned when she peeked over her shoulder to see Alma step on the break for a moment before she quickly focused ahead, not wanting to draw attention to herself
"Get ready, Merrit."
"Tell me when." Merrit replied waiting for her to give him the green light.
Wren waited for a moment, taking a deep breath before shouting "Now!"
She and Danny both watched the bus moved into position in front of the FBI and Interpol agents, cutting of their sight of Jack.
Wren looked at the black car in the front of the bus before giving Merrit the last order. "Let the car go."
Merrit gave her a thumbs up when she looked at him through the window and the two magicians made eye contact.
The identical car was released from the front of Merrit's bus, just as Daniel moved the cab in the second lane. Everything was ready and Wren prayed everything would go according to plan.
"Quick, we need to pass the car. It's gonna flip." Wren shouted at Danny. They passed the car just in time as the car began to flip over on itself, rolling down the road.
Wren felt sick to her stomach thinking about the possibility if Jack had actually been in that car. She knew he was perfectly safe but it didn't make it any less sickening.
"Holy shit." Daniel exclaimed, his tight grip on the steering wheel loosened up as he glanced at Wren over his shoulder.
"Holy shit indeed." She breathed out but them she caught a peculiar sight. Wren furrowed her eyebrows looking behind her as she watched with wide eyes as Rhodes was running towards the burning car like there was no tomorrow.
"Shit! He is running towards the car."
"Why would he do that."
"I don't know."
"We need to go." She reluctantly told Daniel and the raven haired man nodded riding towards their safe house.

BACK IN THE SAFEHOUSE THE HORSEMAN PREPARED TO MAKE A TRIBUTE VIDEO FOR THEIR 'FALLEN' FRIEND. THE TV WAS ALREADY ON, playing the news of the car crash that happened not more than two hours ago. The footage replayed on the screen made Wren's skin crawl. She was happy she knew it had been fake, but the mere idea of it being real made her sick.
"It looks so real." Wren stated in disbelief. "It makes me sick to even think of the possibility of Jack being inside that car."
"Today, the unfolding story of a popular and controversial group of magicians, who have been fast capturing the public's imagination, took a dark turn when a police action that began in Chinatown developed into a dramatic high-speed chase across 59th Street Bridge, which causes the fatal collision that took the life of Jack Wilder, one of the so-called Five Horsemen."
No one made any noise as they watched the news report. Listening to this broke Wren's heart, but she had to keep reminding herself that Jack was alive and breathing.
"The whereabouts of the other Horsemen remain unknown at this time."
It was hard to pretend to be sad for someone who wasn't really dead. The four remaining magicians were sitting in front of a camera, telling their fans about their final show in 5 Pointz. Everyone had tears in their eyes thinking about what if jack was dead, it was making Wren a blubbering mess to be honest. Every time someone tried to talk, their voices would crack. It was hard to pretend but when they thought about the possibilities of Jack's dead made it easier.
After tonight they would disappear. They would disappear from the world. Nobody would know where they would be. They would be ghosts, fairy tales for children and villains in the eyes of the rich. Heroes for some, and thieves to others. It all depended on the way you looked at it.
"More than anything in life, Jack wanted to be the most famous magician who ever lived. And I can't say he achieved it, but I do hope wherever he is, it is full of magic. But the point is.." Daniel's voice cracked as he paused to compose himself for a moment. His acting wasn't half as bad as she thought it would be.
Wren took over for her childhood friend. "The point is... the point is why we are here to say that we are not." Wren sniffed, taking a deep breath before continuing. " We cannot quit now."
"We have started something bigger than all of us. We have to finish it."
"Remember the name Jack Wilder when you see us live, 5 Pointz Queens, 7 o'clock." Henley announced, eyes glazing over with unshed tears.
They continued the last part of the video before Wren stood up and stopped the camera from recording. Time for the last stand.
The last part before the show was in action. Merrit did his part of the plan as they got to the warehouse.
Wren was walking behind the other horsemen, thinking about what they had achieved so far. She never had thought they would make it so far. She was unsure about beginning this mission in the first place. But over the time her point of view changed when she started to get to know the others. She was doing what she loved with a group of amazing people. And Wren thought that was all that mattered she maybe gave up her old life but in return she got so much more. How funny, how her tarot card represented just that. Change.
They all got into position to place the mirror up. They had to make sure the safe looked like it was missing and then replace it with a fake one filled with balloon animals.
Wren grinned thinking back at the show in New Orleans, the tip they gave Agent Rhodes and Dray.
"The box was never empty." She whispered to herself, a small grin on her face.
Danny pressed the button to lower the mirror. He turned around, grinning at them. Wren smiled right back at him.
Everything was in place. the false safe was already in the truck ready to go to 5 Pointz, Queens. They all fled the building before the FBI would get here. It was up to Jack to get the money later and put it into Thaddeus Bradley's car.
"Time for our final show." Wren grinned walking betweenDaniel and Henley wrapping her arms around their necks. "This is going tobe amazing."
