Hotaru kept the trees there for the fights making it to be fair as both Shikamaru and Hinata knows the plan: keep the males busy while Hotaru deals with the female before the males. Once they got to inside, Hotaru was ready to do her thing.

Kin saw another vine and it ripped her clothing off and her pouch of weapons was on the ground as she looks around to see a way out of here. She saw a big red thing show up from the sky and it entered her mouth making her to gag on it really.
