There are many strange and unorthodox things in this world: Toupees, platypus', the entirety of the west USA, pineapple on pizza etc. but none could compare to what Yunho dealt with every day.
Each morning, he awoke to the strangling but very loving arms of his boyfriend wrapped tightly around his body. Moving him wasn't an option as Yunho quickly found out on their first nights together. Should he struggle, dreary growls would come from the demon sleeping beside him; his grip only tightening in response. So he'd wait for an extra ten to thirty minutes just for Wooyoung to wake up. Not that he really minded at this point. It made him feel protected.
Yunho and Wooyoung met by accident. Well, as accidental as a summoning circle could go. Long story short, Yunho walked into the wrong place at the wrong time, freaky people in masks exploded the bathroom and the next thing he knows he's the master of a demon.
He hasn't stepped foot in a McDonald's ever since.
"Woo, it's time to get up." He whispered yet the demon merely groaned. Yunho chuckled as Wooyoung nuzzled into his chest, poking his cheek with a small grin. "Wooyoungie~ I need to go to work."
"But master, I don't want you to go. You're always leaving me..." He had insisted on calling the human his master. Despite Yunho telling him it wasn't necessary, Wooyoung would often throw a fit if he didn't accept the title, so he left it be.
The demon's white tail caressed Yunho's leg, an action far too suggestive for this early in the morning. "Stay~" He purred, lips hovering over his ear.
Normally, Yunho would be weak to whatever Wooyoung threw at him. Which was usually why he was so late to work in the morning. A quickie to start the day and a lecture to finish it wasn't exactly ideal for his career. So today, he would have to put his foot down. "I can't today, Woo. I'll get in trouble with my boss." He attempted to shift away, a mistake as Wooyoung hissed at him and his claws were brought out, stretching Yunho's arms. "Wooyoung..."
"Don't want master to go! Master never brings me along! He always leaves me..."
Yunho sighed. There was no getting around it when he got like this - whiny. Instead of making any grand attempts to pull away, he simply rolled on top of the demon. With him caged down, it gave Yunho a chance to examine his otherworldly features. His pale, grey eyes, fierce when they wanted to be but remained large to accentuate how needy he really was. His sharp, white horns that curled back slightly; He was absolutely stunning.
He pushed back the demon's silver-black hair to kiss his forehead gently. "I'll be back before you know it, okay? I promise to make it up to you once I get home."
Wooyoung's pout faded, shifting to a smirk. A look he knew all too well. His tail slid towards Yunho's rear as he whispered, "How do you plan on doing that, master?"
"I'll give you your favourite treat..." He ran his thumb across Wooyoung's bottom lip, a slight grin on his face at the way he shivered.
"Please, master," He whined. The demon practically melted from his touch, tongue poking out slightly in desperation for a kiss. "I want it now! Please give me your c-"
"Cookies!"
"W-What?"
Yunho raised his brow and chuckled. "Cookies. I'm going to make your favourite cookies, Woo. What else do you think I mean by treats?" The demon's mouth fell open, his face filled with pure disbelief and absolute devastation. It stayed that way even as Yunho moved off of him to start his morning. Why does he like being so...innocent?! He can't tease me like that!
Even as the raven-haired attempted to ready himself, Wooyoung refused to give him a moment to breathe. The shower head fell off, spraying a chaotic amount of water on Yunho mid bath, to which he just moved to a different bathroom. The soap melted in his hands so he just grabbed a spare. His briefcase was hidden but Wooyoung had done it so many times that he was well aware of all his hiding spots. All his suits were shredded, which although annoying, would be fixed by the time he got home, so Yunho opted to go for something simpler today.
Whatever Wooyoung inconveniences he could do to keep him at home, he tried, all to no success.
When Yunho was told that he was a demon of mischief, there was not a doubt in his mind about it. In the beginning, it seemed that his only purpose was to make the young man's life a living hell. He would laugh in the face of his misfortune and cause him more grief than imaginable.
That was a long time ago, though. Ever since they started dating, Wooyoung took out his mischievous tendencies on their neighbours. Haunting the apartment complex to his heart's content. Nowadays, the most heinous crimes he commits in their house is knocking things off of counters and sitting in inconvenient places.
"Remember the rules, Wooyoung." The demon, who was floating angrily above the raven-haired, rolled his eyes. Unfortunately for him, Yunho was on his way out and he was in for his usual morning lecture.
"I know, I know," He groaned. "Don't set fires, don't scare old people cause it'll give them a heart attack, don't flood the basement, don't bring paintings to life, don't take over electronics or children's bodies, don't look at babies or else I'll give them nightmares, don't fill the halls with spiders..."
"And most importantly?"
This was the one he hated the most. "Don't leave the apartment complex..." It was a harsh rule for him, especially given his energetic and often destructive nature but it was a necessary one. The last thing Yunho wanted was for him to be hurt. After all, he cared about him and if people got wind of there being a demon in town, it would only bring trouble.
Thankfully, he had gotten everyone in the building to swear not to tell anyone of Wooyoung's existence. The only outlier was Wooyoung himself. "I know you hate that rule but please, I just don't want anything to happen to you." He reached up to caress the demon's cheek, an action that made him purr in satisfaction. Sometimes, Yunho thought he was more like a cat than a demon. "I love you."
Wordlessly, Wooyoung nodded. The pout remained on his face even as Yunho kissed his lips but he didn't have time to console him any further. "I'll see you tonight, okay hun?"
See, the thing is, Wooyoung didn't plan on waiting that long.
For once in his life, Yunho arrived on time for work, something that shocked the majority of his coworkers. "I never thought I'd see the day!" Hongjoong gasped rather dramatically, even going as far as to rub the lenses of the glasses to be sure this was real. "Who are you and what have you done with Yunho?"
"Not a bite or scar in sight. For once you don't look like you've been ravished by a vampire." Yunho stuck his tongue out at his other co-workers, Yeosang, comment. He took his place between their cubicles then pulled out his papers and laptop while they continued to chat. "Did your boyfriend finally let you free today?"
"I wish my boyfriend would treat you the way yours does, Yunho." Whined Hongjoong, huffing with his head laid in his hand. "But no, every time I bring it up, Mingi's always like 'I wanna respect your boundaries' or 'Joong it's 2 am go to bed'. Ugh..."
"Seonghwa has a similar thing, only he goes 'Yeosang we can't keep having sex in public places, we're gonna get banned' or something ridiculous along those lines. But if he stopped dressing the way he did, maybe I wouldn't be so horny all the time!"
These were the typical conversations Yunho was forced to listen to daily. He would chime in but he figured neither of them could really relate to his troubles. Imagine if he said: "Oh for sure and Wooyoung has a thing for stealing people's souls when I'm not looking like, can you imagine?" That wouldn't really fly. Everyone knew he was seeing someone, if the dazed expression and copious lovebites he came to work with every day didn't already give it away; It's just that no one knew what he was.
About thirty minutes or so later, Yunho was sent a document to go print. As he waited patiently for it to go through, he decided to check his phone to pass the time. He smiled at his background. It was a photo of him and Wooyoung together, one of his favourites. Wooyoung loved photos. If you were anywhere near him with a camera, it'd be no surprise if you found him in your background uninvited.
Maybe he should treat him to a photoshoot. The idea made him space out a bit as the only thing filling his mind was the thought of his boyfriend giggling snapping pictures to his heart's content.
His attention was quickly diverted, however, when bright sparks began to fly from the printer. It made strange sounds, jittering and releasing strings of smoke from inside. Yunho coughed, hastily looking around the fire extinguisher but it was nowhere in sight.
Not only was this printer acting up, but it seemed every device in the room was malfunctioning. Hongjoong shrieked when his laptop suddenly combusted from the inside and several other employees desperately tried to figure out what was going on. The lights flickered above and a familiar giggle echoed through the building, frightening everyone in the room.
"He wouldn't..."
"It's a ghost!" Someone shouted.
"This place is haunted!" Another person cried.
In the midst of the insanity, Yunho raced to the bathroom to scroll through his contacts but like everything else, his phone refused to function. Groaning in frustration, he decided to go back outside. The door, however, wouldn't budge. No matter how hard he pulled, it seemed he was locked in.
"Where do you think you're going?"
He was pushed against the door, flipped around and held down by a familiar set of hands. "Y-Yeosang?" He stuttered towards the blonde.
Yeosang chuckled, his pupils transforming to slits. Yunho's eyes went wide when white horns rose from his skull, a tail soon following. "Hello, master~"
"Wooyoung!? What are you doing here? I told you to stay at home!"
"You did... but I got lonely. I wanted to have some fun today and decided to come here!" He said with a cute giggle. Yunho, on the other hand, was less than amused. Although he seemed more disappointed than angry or genuinely upset.
Wooyoung didn't pay his expression any mind though. Instead, he was more focused on removing Yunho's pants, licking his lips as he fumbled with his belt. "Don't," He sighed. "At least not in Yeosang's body, please? He's got a boyfriend."
The demon shrugged and, like a ghost leaving a host's body, simply flew from Yeosang, leaving the human to hit the ground with a harsh thud. Rather than tending to the unconscious being beside him, Wooyoung only looked up at his partner with a bright smile. "Better? Now can I have my treat? I've been good, haven't I?"
"Wooyoung, the office is two seconds away from being on fire."
"Cheap technology. If you guys had a bigger budget it wouldn't burn so easily."
"You just took over my friend's body."
"The past is in the past and really now, I couldn't go out there looking like this." He pointed to his demonic features, rolling his eyes.
"And you broke several rules just now."
"Those rules only apply to being at home and in all fairness, I haven't scared any old people or flooded the building. So really, I'm in the clear." His toothy grin did nothing to sway Yunho's mind.
"Unlock the door." He told him simply. Wooyoung, expecting something in return, followed this command but what he wasn't expecting was for Yunho to just walk out. Ignored. His needs had just been ignored and that never sat well with him.
By the time Yunho had walked back out, it was as if a crisis hadn't just occurred. Likely because Wooyoung was too busy trying to take off his pants to wreak any more havoc. Such a thought made him sigh. Once his boyfriend had his heart set on something, there was no way you could sway him.
It was going to be a long day...
"What just happened?" Hongjoong murmured when his computer turned back on. "Is it the power?"
"Nope, just my boyfriend..." Yunho said under his breath. Yeosang came back in a bit later, complaining about a terrible headache. He was dazed, to say the least. The effects of Wooyoung's mischief was something Yunho was practically numb to by now. So while Hongjoong was stressed over their co-workers' condition, he went right back to work like nothing even happened.
Or at least he tried to. "Master..." Yunho sighed yet again. Hongjoong laid his head on by his neck, draping his arms around the taller male's shoulders with a cute pout. "At least pay attention to me..."
"Not when you look like someone else."
Hongjoong, or rather, Wooyoung, scoffed. The demon moved Yunho back, allowing him the space to sit on his lap. "You're always in such a rush to see these humans. I figured you'd want me to look like him." It was when he began to move his hips that Yunho grew nervous.
The clock ticked in the background, the minutes inching closer to their break. Hongjoong's boyfriend, Mingi, always visited the office during their lunch period which was steadily approaching.
The demon whimpered, kissing at Yunho's neck while he rutted back and forth.
"Wooyoung, please, not now?"
It was clear he was getting off to the friction he was creating on his leg. "Just wanna feel good, master. Please let me." He moaned as he rode his thigh.
Yunho could hear the doors slide open, Mingi's deep voice greeting a few other people in the room. In a moment of desperation, Yunho pushed Wooyoung onto the ground. It was just enough to startle him out of Hongjoong's body and leave him knocked out on the floor.
Just in time too. "Joong?" Mingi muttered curiously.
"Fuck... What the hell happened?" They both look to Yunho since Yeosang was still half functioning and had no clue what was going on.
"You fell asleep and slipped off your seat," He told them nonchalantly, even shrugging his shoulders. His calm tone did nothing to distract him from the demon giggling under his desk but as long as he didn't react, these two wouldn't notice him and Wooyoung wouldn't get the satisfaction of making him flustered.
"Aw babe, let me take you home. You shouldn't be that tired and work so hard." Hongjoong was scooped up by his massive boyfriend, cradled in his arms like a baby. Not that he minded. The older male giggled and waved Yunho goodbye as he was carried out of the office.
Hongjoong was going home and Yeosang was in a coma. "See? Today wasn't so bad after all!"
Standing in their living room, Wooyoung chuckled nervously when faced with Yunho's stern face. There were few times he could make him mad. He had the patience of a saint but it seems today, he finally managed to push him over the edge.
"I didn't mean to cause any trouble, master."
Yes he did.
"Yes you did."
"I'm sorry!"
No he wasn't.
"No you aren't." He got to do exactly what he wanted - Make a mess. Why would he be sorry? Yunho wasn't one for punishments, he never found the need to do them but today, he was especially disappointed in the demon. "No cookies for you..." He mumbled.
Wooyoung jutted his lip out as he watched Yunho walk off to their room. Did he feel bad? Only a little bit. Remorse was an emotion seldom felt by demons. He was only upset that he had made Yunho upset.
"Master?" He peeped, peeking his head into the bedroom. His only response from his boyfriend was a light hum. Yunho didn't even bother to look up from the book he started reading, clearly still irked. Although, he did glance down when the mattress shifted and Wooyoung had crawled next to him. "Please don't be mad at me, master!" He pleaded.
"I'm not mad..." Said Yunho. "Just disappointed."
"That's even worse!" He moved onto Yunho's lap and laid his head on the crook of his neck, forcing him to slide his book away. "Please, I just wanted to play today. Please don't be disappointed..."
It was hard for Yunho to stay mad at Wooyoung. Even when he was making a mess and driving him to the brink of a headache, he was never truly upset, even now. So when the demon felt a gentle kiss be pressed against his cheek, he knew he wasn't in any major trouble. "Don't be sad, Woo. It's okay. Just don't do it again. Poor Yeosang is gonna be passed out for hours."
"It's not my fault he fell on the tiles..."
"Yes it is..."
"Okay, it is but he should have caught something!"
Chuckling, Yunho only shook his head. He took hold of Wooyoung's waist and before he knew it, he was wrapped in a hug. The demon was pressed against his chest, giggling at the sudden action. "What am I going to do with you, Wooyoung?"

I'm trying to get better at writing one shots, i.e not making 4,000-word essays. So if these seem shorter in the future, that's why (lol watch me write something that's like 6k words next-)
