Chapter 8
I knew Cazza existence was soon going to catch up to me. We had a history together that’s practically impossible to cut off. I thought that if I ran off … long enough my past would become exactly that… the past.
“What about Cazza?” I looked down at the idiot that tried to hurt Kyane. I could easily sense the vitality of an illusionist.
“… Is back.” He whispered. I knew he was telling the truth because of the fear his body was projecting. Once you meet Cazza its impossible to not fear the mere mention of the name.
“How is it possible?” I grab his shirt and pull him off from the floor. Making him look at me in the eyes. I’ll make sure I’m the most frightening thing he has ever seen in his life. He tenses up and I feel his body start to tremble. I was sure this Leo wasn’t going to give me any information without some encouragement.
“Have you heard of me?” I ask him. He looks at me puzzled, confused by my sudden question. It’s not a trivia question; it’s not that hard to answer.
“What do you mean Kyane?” He asked me. That’s when it dawns on me. He doesn’t know who I am because he is seeing Kyane’s body. I debate whether to show him my true form, but then decide not to. This piece of crap is not worth to use the magic I need to protect Kyane.
“Now Leo I know your smarter than that.” I summon my power of nightmare. Knowing exactly what to do I make the white room, into a tropical forest. In
“What?” Leo tensed up and I knew he could hear the hiss of his worst nightmare.
“It’s not really a what, more like who.” That’s when a 200 ft anaconda appeared right in front of his eyes. Its’ yellow murder-like eyes directly staring at Leo; I let go of him and took four steps back. Making Leo feel vulnerable and completely alone.
“It’s not real… it’s not real…” He began stammering. It doesn’t matter how much he recites that phrase as long as his mind and body don’t believe those words, then Leo is completely under my illusion with no way out.
I made the anaconda move slowly towards Leo’s now shivering body. I was just a few seconds from breaking this kid… and candidly it brought me pure pleasure.
“I thought you couldn’t make living illusions.” He yelled out as soon as the anaconda’s tongue licked his cheek. At first I felt offended because I thought he was talking about me, but then my mind quickly remembered about Kyane. And I knew this guy still thinks he’s dealing with Kyane and not me. My irritation was reflected towards the anaconda, responding with curling its lips at him.
“You still think I’m Kyane. What will it take for you to understand she isn’t here?” I make the snake curl itself around Leo’s body and constrict him.
“No please! I’ll talk, No!” The anaconda was about to swallow him when I stop it. But I didn’t release him; I actually want to hear him scream like a little girl again.
“I’m listening.” I walk next to him and I start petting the anaconda. Making the illusion stronger.
“Cazza never told any of us the details. He just wanted Kyane gone. He said ‘she’ll be in our way.’ We didn’t object and were just trying to finish our mission.” Finally this kid didn’t address me as Kyane, he get’s it now.
“You said we… how many are coming after Kyane?” I felt this iron grip in my stomach I could only describe it as some sort of irritation.
“Lilith failed to kill her, so it was me next. If I fail then she has to face one last person.” He stammered his words when he saw the anaconda’s head slowly approaching his pale face. Lilith, I heard of her she’s supposedly the youngest illusionist there is in the world. Her powers have more to do with people’s greatest desire, engulfing them with excessive pleasure eventually making the person mad.
“How long will it take for the person after you to find out about your failure.” The anaconda constricts Leo a little tighter and he started to cry a little.
“In three days, but he is going to be more dangerous than us.” He yelled out, probably his last ounce of dignity.
“How so?” I grin at him.
“He’s a hunter.” He looks at me as if to see if I was getting scared. But he didn’t see me scared, he saw me with devil-like smile on my face.
“You can leave now and don’t ever show your face to Kyane or me ever again.” He nodded his leg and I released him ending the illusion. We were in front of Kyane’s school, deserted by the entire student body. Leo didn’t hesitate and sprinted away from me.
Finally, the moment I’ve been waiting for. To test my skills out on a hunter, and if lucky the chance to kill him with my own bare hands. After what those hunters did to me… I will show their comrade no mercy. He will be the first candidate to be shown the true power that I posses. After I get a little more practice, I will be ready to confront ‘him.’ The greatest hunter alive, the one that locked me up for eternity… “The Puma.”
