Kyane…

            I open my eyes and I see a giant snake hissing at me. Droplets of saliva landed on my cheek. If this would’ve happened three months ago I would’ve panicked and wouldn’t had known what to do. But now I know this snake isn’t real.

            I summon a giant glass wall to separate us and the snake couldn’t attack me anymore. While I was letting the snake attack the wall, I knew that I wasn’t safe being in between a glass wall and my bed. I summon flames to appear and consume my whole body. I knew the flames weren’t real so they did not feel hot at all. While the flames I quickly crawled away from my bed were distracting the snake and when I got off, sure enough the flames simmered away and in place were a nest of giant tarantulas. I ran away and all of a sudden my room turned into the ocean. I willed my mind to ignore the cold temperature that was making my body start to tremble. Eventually it worked and I was no longer feeling that I was cold. Once I got my mind ready I turned the ocean into the sky, which it wasn’t so hard.

            “Good Kyane.” The sky turned back into my room and I was again standing on my bed,

            “In three months you have finally become a decent illusionist.” Darius appears behind me and hugs me tightly.

            It’s been three months since I’ve been discharged by the hospital and began my intense boot camp training with Darius. He didn’t tell me his name until it was a month into our training when I was finally able to wake up from my dreams without drowning.

            “Thanks,” I smile and walk away from his grasp and went to get ready for school. Two weeks ago I was finally able to enter school again. I mean it wasn’t that I couldn’t really go; it’s just my dad felt so protective and cautious over me that he refused to let me go to school until my mom and I faced him and reasoned with him.

            As I was ready to leave Darius appears in front of the doorway.

            “Darius?” I cock my head to try and guess what he wanted.

            “Kyane this is for you.” He reaches out and gives me a heart pendant. It was gold and had delicate designs around it. I was speechless and I just looked up to look at him bewildered.

            “What is this for?” I asked.

            “Don’t get your hopes up princess, it’s personally for you. These past three months I wasted all of my energy training you that I am officially exhausted now. But because I’m exhausted I didn’t want to risk not having enough power to keep you know giving you your organs. So I locked up all of my power personally for your organs for your entire life time.” He came closer to me and put his hands around my neck and put on the pendant. He gently lets the heart rest on my chest and look at it. He smiled at it sadly.

            “If anything happens to me this pendant will help you live longer than me. “ Just as quickly that smile came and he looked into my eyes sand said,

            “This pendant is going to keep you alive. If anything happens to it. If its destroyed or damaged than your gone, do you understand.” His eyes looked scared but his face showed like he was really worried.

            “Don’t worry, I get it.” I grab his hand and kissed his cheek.

            “Now I have to go to school or I have to be late so hurry up and get inside me.” I said. He looked at me and smiled at me deviously

            “That’s what she said.” He then disappeared before I could snap at him. Something else happened in those three months, I accidently fell in love with Darius. The man who saved my life and possibly ruined my existence.

            “Kyane did you hear, there’s this new transfer student attending our class” Gigi comes running to my side, Gigi has been my friend since the beginning of high school she was the first one to come and visit me after I got discharged. But I haven’t really told her about Darius or the fact that I’m an illusionist.

            “Really how cute is he?” I ask.

            Ugh this is what I hate about being in a girl’s body.

            I ignore Darius comment, I’m not embarrassed anymore about Darius being able to hear everything that I say, I mean as long as he can’t read my mind it’s all good.

            “He is like hot. You have no idea how hot like young Leonardo D’Caprio hot.” My eyes pop open. Wow, is he really that hot?

            “Class I’d like you to meet you new classmate Leo.” Everyone looks up and in unison all of the girls swooned. I mean this guy wasn’t hot like Leonardo D’Caprio, I mean he looked almost exactly like Leonardo when he acted in the Titanic if it weren’t for his green eyes and fisty attitude atmosphere. I can’t lie he looked exactly like my type.

            “Kyane he is exactly your type.” Gigi whispered at my direction

            WHAT?!

            I jump up due to Darius unexpected reaction. Leo suddenly walks up to me and winks at me.

            “Hey so can I be your lab partner?” Leo asked. My heartbeat skipped a beat and I suddenly blushed.

            NO

            “Uh yeah.” He swiftly slides into his desk, and just starts talking to me as if we known each other our whole lives. I mean we had this connection that I couldn’t explain. Another thing I couldn’t explain also was why was Darius yelling at me while I was talking to Leo. He is such an attention brat.
