2. A goddess
(This isn't a continuation to the above story)
——
She was a goddess but he didn't believe in higher powers.
She would often come down to play with Earth's children. Each to their own, they would have different ways of viewing the gift of life they were given.
Some days, she would wrap the beaming kids with present galore and other days she would test their patience. But there was one thing that all those children were binded by. That they had met a goddess.
A goddess like in those fairytales that your mother would read to you to sleep.
Like in those lullabies, the ones that silently performed miracles.
And really made life a virtue.
And as years went by, each child was presented with a new pair of glasses, given by She. To seek the best of the world in another way, in a way that would give them the true meaning of happiness.
However, in all those years, she had never met a child who didn't believe. Never a child who didn't have those bright eyes that sparkled with hope for a better world. Never met a boy who had lost his magic to the ones that were already gone.
Who didn't believe, who couldn't because for the longest time he had been facing desperation searching for She, but as all those years past, never found her in time to restore his dignity.
She has true power, but will that gleaming radiance be enough to save a young boy who has already been forced into the harsh side of the world.
